I looked on a third party site and they are still booking with tons of availability so either NCL knows something they don't or it's just another bug with the website. Either is a possibility but the issues with the ship this week haven't led to cancellations between now and then so it's likely just the website.

Thank you. Considering the issues with canceling ports and then seeing this i feared the worst. I called and she said they are still selling. I'm holding my breath at this point.

Did you ask for them, or just get them?

I enquired about tickets years ago when we first made gold, and were told that we didn't need them. Since then, we have been at tender ports many times and have never once been offered any tender ticket or had any trouble getting off the ship with anything other than our card. A couple of times when on a cruise with tenders I have specifically been told by the CruiseNext staff (without asking them) that we could just join the queue for tenders whenever we wanted.

Honestly i don't recall if I asked but knowing me i did :). I like the idea of joining the queue anytime. We are tendering to Grand Cayman with 3 or 4 ships in port so i definitely will be off early to get my chair at the one beach bar on Seven Mile Beach still open...

There are no priority tender passes for latitudes. All the benefit means is that you can join the queue whenever you want without having to collect a timed ticket first. You just show your keycard if they ask to see your ticket.

    Priority Tender Tickets*
    (for applicable ports)

This is right on their website for Gold and above. I have received them in the past but maybe things have changed....

As a general rule, there isn't a bad seat in the house on any of the "Away" or "Away+" ships for the main shows.  The shows in Syd Norman's...different story.   You HAVE TO BE THERE very early to get a seat, or even SRO.

Thanks- I did hear that and looking forward to that venue. I am not much for the big shows but want to see Six so I will check out the theatre.

    Good morning!

I just boarded The Breakaway and as usual we weren't given a letter or any information on contacting the concierge. I asked at CruiseNext/Lat Rewards and was told now they will act as our Concierge contact. Has anyone else heard this?

We didn't get any information about priority tenders or the like since boarding. Today disembarking via tender in Newport was a mess!

You should have received priority tender passes as noted in the benefits.

I'm so confused. People on my roll call saying they received notification that NCL Breakaway is cancelling Puerto Plata and Cozumel due to "slow speed" needed for ship November 2022. I called NCL they have nothing regarding this change. Interesting the people saying they were notified are from UK and Australia...

Update: I called and spoke to another rep at NCL and yes they are cancelling 2 ports. We will receive a $300 onboard credit. Big deal. I'm pissed! Nothing I can do. No refund, no swap to another cruise. Nada

  7. I just lowered all my Haven Bids to minimum for my upcoming 14 night cruise. I just love the location of my aft cabin and already have 6 specialty dinners, vibe beach club, and sapphire perks so why add thousands more to my credit card for a potentially overcrowded Haven restaurant and a Breakaway courtyard with no view? I'm feeling at peace either way 🙂

Incorrect. There was an Upsell Desk that you called if you wanted an upgrade. This was a direct call from passengers to NCL. It was an organized, manual, upgrade process.

As NCL started to launch one new mega ship a year, the Upsell Desk could not handle the volume of calls and NCL was the first to go to automated upgrade queues.

The Upsell desk also used to send out mass emails for last minute upgrades if they didn't get enough calls.

As I stated, now everyone (as soon as you log on to your account) is aware of the upgrades vs. this behind the scenes process. I never received any such email and have been on many NCL cruises. Thanks for your input.

One reason why the Breakaway/Getaway are some of my least favorite ships.  The Haven is an afterthought and big steps back from its predecessor Epic.  Besides the tiny restaurant, it's courtyard is small and the Haven sundeck has no water features.
If I was considering the Haven on any NCL ship these ships would be last on my list.  The Escape corrected most of these shortcomings in the Haven.  Then Bliss/Encore took the Haven to another level.  Now Prima took it even higher.  But anyone that has sailed Bliss or Encore or even Epic in the Haven and sailed Breakaway or Getaway, they will be surprised.

The Epic was our first Haven and it was amazing. We felt a bit cramped on the Getaway and are now bidding on an upgrade for the Breakaway,  but after seeing these pics of all the tables around the pool this totally turned me off. I may stick with my aft cabin and pocket the extra $$ and place a deposit on the Prima!

Oh, I know! From the perspective of someone who cruises in the Haven, I dislike it. If I put my businessman hat on, I understand the upgrade process and completely support it. If I worked for NCL, I'd be sure to continue the practice, though you do have to be careful not to dilute the value of the experience.

We have been in the Haven more than once ( prior to the bidding process) and never felt it was packed and this was prime time sailings for Presidents week and Easter Break.  If the day comes I can't get a seat at the Haven Bar or get stuck eating outside due to overflow, I'm done. As you said, once the experience is no longer special, they will lose their faithful cruisers.

We are currently on the Breakaway in Portland Me. Tuesday, and just had a delicious lobster roll at DeMillo’s in town.  tomorrow Bar Harbor. Then supposedly  St John and Halifax. After the whole ArriveCAN and form filing it looks like we might skip the Canadian ports due to the Hurricane. This is the rumor mill, no official word yet. Not sure if we would substitute another port like Boston or just return early. So far the cruise has been great. The weather fairly good, comedy club fun, Six tonight, food terrific. We are in the packed Haven and my only complaint is that they took all the loungers out of the enclosed swimming pool area and replaced them with tables because the Haven restaurant can’t hold everyone. This means you have to climb stairs to the sundeck to lie on a lounge. Only warm enough the first day in Newport. Casino is jammed. Signs for no smoking but some people can’t read and the staff is afraid to say anything.

A packed Haven i feel will be the new normal with the bidding process. I don't consider eating out by the pool a great dining experience for the restaurant !

  12. If this is offered through the cruise ship- take it! There are tight restrictions on JVD now and many private excursions not even going due to outrageous fees so sign up asap before it sells out! We have been about 5 or 6 times and never had an issue getting to beach from boat. They will offer you a noodle if you feel you need it and they put your dry goods in plastic buckets and bring to shore for you.
