  1. In the past 15 years, I've only sailed with Royal about 6 times, every other year or so. So no, I like the idea of basically knowing what to expect. Same thing with Celebrity and NCL. I just mix up our cruises between the three different cruise lines so we experience various entertainment, dining, ship facilities that separate one line from another. Perhaps you should venture into other CL's to put some adventure back into your cruises?

  2. Believe you need to ask your room steward for one earlier in the day. At least that's what we were told when we tried to place an order last time. They didn't exactly seem to want us to place an order we felt it was considered more of an annoyance at the time. We decide to just go up to the buffet instead

  3. We've usually driven to Miami or Ft Lauderdale the day prior to our cruise to spend the night and park our car. This past time we stayed the night in hotel but decided to park in Miami for the 7 nts. It was really nice to just drive right up to the port and walk our bags over to the terminal and vice versa on our way back. No waiting at hotel for the shuttle with hoards of other cruise passengers and all that luggage! Also, you still have to get a taxi from the port back to hotel, in lineup with everyone else at a cost of $30 or so for the two of us. Transportation isn't included in the hotel package usually. We debate the cost depending on length of cruise and time of year/hotel rates.

  4. I've done the Ultimate dining with Celebrity probably on 7 different cruises, and loved it. It's my understanding they've done away with this Ultimate package and have changed to a set price for x amount of nights. You can dine as many times as you wish in whatever restaurant you choose during the cruise. Lunches are no longer included in the pricing either. With Ultimate there was a limit to the number of people they'd allow to purchase this package, often very few. The old way, they'd tell you what restaurants and how many nights you'd dine in each depending on the package you bought.

  5. Pretty much each night of the cruise. Enjoy trying out all the new ones available as the opportunity arises. We plan on spending the additional cost once we book our cruise since we enjoy the experience. Just don't care for the MDR atmosphere anymore. We usually do have a breakfast and a lunch in there throughout the week though. Anything other than the buffet, dread that place

  6. You're welcome, and yes we did have a great week. Wish the lady that kicked me while walking the Waterfront hadn't been there. My leg is still hurting with a huge bruise too.

Just want to jump in here to let others know to sign up and attend their M&G for their sailing. Was told by the officers that they plan to change future M&G's to The District Brew house and provide beer, those great snacks, and music as we experienced. Really much nicer than Cagney's from our past experiences with NCL. They also invited us all a second time for a repeat with music, etc. on the last sea day. They really went all out for us CCer's this time around I felt. Way to go Escape staff!

  7. We really enjoyed the priority embarkation and disembarkation recently on the Escape. Made a HUGE difference in our previous experiences in Miami. Got on board as soon as boarding began and did escorted disembarkation down through the Haven elevator straight to the terminal with our priority luggage tagged directly ahead of us in the terminal for pick up. Still had all the walk off people with us going thru customs, but that is to be expected.

Also enjoyed the new option of Cagney's and Moderno for dinners. Overall, we're glad to see the new changes for Platinum level.
