  1. We are traveling with a friend who has two severe allergies. Thus we opted for MTD and our own table so she won't be sitting next to someone who could order items that would be problematic. Seems like the sensible thing for anyone with these kinds of issues to go. We wouldn't expect a table mate to refrain from ordering something to accommodate her allergies. We are happy to do so though.

  2. Having the same waiter every night doesn't give you a relationship with the waiter. If he or she quickly learns your preferences that just means the waiter is good at his or her job. I doubt they view serving you as anything more than the job for the night.

I was a waitress for many years. I liked seeing my regulars and did what I could to ensure they had a good experience (as I did with all my customers) but in no way did I have a "relationship" with them.

  3. Technical answer? Replace it. I used to work in our non immigrant visa section in London years ago. Even then we wouldn't have put a us visa in a foreign passport that badly danagedothing and would have considered it invalid for entry into the US.

If you are using that I would bring a BC and a DL just in case.

  4. Are there only coke products in the freestyle machine or other brands- looking for diet mountain dew or diet Dr. Pepper.

Just noting you tagged onto an old thread but I am of the understanding that the ship exclusively carry coke products. Which makes sense contractually.

  5. I am going to be flying into Orlando with my DH and two kids (2.5 and 5). We will be arriving a day before our cruise so I am looking for advice on how to get from the airport to the hotel? We will be traveling with my parents so there will be six of us total but I am not sure what is the best/safest way to travel. Do I bring the kids car seats? Rent a car? Take a shuttle? And if we go with a shuttle do we use car seats or no? I have never cruised with kids before so I am not sure how to navigate this detail about getting to the hotel and pier ... thanks so much!!

If you are going to be in a car or van type shuttle with seat belts, then car seats.

  6. Gerif thanks for the suggestion, but he doesn't have mobility issues other than walking very very slow.

I definitely will take up a table for our family after all we are there for this cruise to be together we don't live in the same states (I live in Florida) and we definitely want to use the two hours until the room opens to sit together, eat and talk. I am sure if they don't board with us they be there in no time with my other half and myself. I am sure there be many other tables for everybody else, we just need a larger one thats all.

If your father walks very slowly really really consider requesting a wheelchair for boarding. It is a long winding walk up (and down) and I know that on our last cruise one elderly man held up hundreds of people disembarking because he walked slowly and the person assisting him had to stand next to him. No way around them. They weren't being intentionally rude or anything but people who couldn't see what the slowdown was were getting very testy.

  7. I thought I remember reading that after 10 pm they charge per hour for the kids club. My daughter is 9. My son is 14, so not sure if he would be a charge, but is this correct? I can't believe they would charge, especially after 10 because thats about the time the adults go to the lounge or show or dancing, etc.

we planned to see Chicago at the 9 pm showtime but not sure now, since we ill have to pay to have my daughter in the club "after free hours"

    Thanks!!

Not all adults stay out late.

The charges start at 10. If you see Chicago starting at 9 you will be out by 11. You can't pay $8 for that hour?

  8. So...if she legally changed her name when you got married then her "real" name is what she changed it to be.

You should have all your identification match IMHO. If her old name was jane may doe and her new legal name is Jane Mary smith then use that. But if she changed it to Jane Doe smith then use that. Then alter whatever id is wrong.

You could have hold ups if the relevant id and ticketed names don't match.

  9. I hope the best for you, BUT, on the other hand, I hope they say Sorry, no help. Why the two views? I am a Black and White person. These are the rules, live by them. When they start granting exceptions it makes everyone think they get an exemption. Which of course leads to conflicts. I think changing the policy actually creates bad feelings amongst those who do not get the benefit.

This is sort of like a job where a boss allows one person to be late to work without penalty but punishes another worker. Nothing but bad feelings all the way around.

RCI assisting the OP would have zero adverse impact to anyone else. Why hope for bad news for someone, ever?

OP I hope your work is prepared to offset your losses if they are possibly oreventing you from taking approved leave. I had to cancel a vacation once for a work issue and all non refundable expenses were reimbursed. Sometimes stuff happens and it's unavoidable.
