Thanks for the review. We are sailing on our first NCL ship (Escape) in 3 weeks and are curious to see how it stacks up versus the other RCI ships we have been on, including Oasis. We chose this cruise specifically for for 2.5 days in Bermuda.

If you're looking for the ones for Bermuda, they are on page 2 of this thread

Thank you!

We'll be in Bermuda in 3 weeks and are considering going to Tobacco Bay after we explore the Crystal Caves. Does anyone know the cost to rent chairs there? Kayaks?
I looked on their website but don't see any prices.
Thank you,

Nope. People often think they are though, as they are quite similar. Miami vice is pina colada and strawberry daiquiri mixed together (combination of two frozen drinks). A lava flow is a pina colada with strawberry syrup.
The lava flow lacks the lime/citrus flavor the frozen strawberry daiquiri brings to the Miami vice. But you are correct in that there are bartenders out there that think they're the same and give you the same drink. I only discovered they were different myself when someone gave me a Miami vice insisting it was lava flow. I haven't run into many though - so maybe they're handing lava flows to those who order Miami vice?
Thank you for that. I prefer the pina colada/strawberry daiquiri drink .

Does anyone know what the times are for the free ferry from Dockyard to St. George? Less than 4 weeks until our Escape cruise.
Thanks!

My favorite as well! Not to be confused with the similar, and in my opinion not quite as good, miami vice (pina colada and strawberry daiquiri for those that don't know).
I think a lava flow & Miami vice are the same thing. Different cruise lines call the same drink different things.

I have a Chase Sapphire credit card. If I pay for the entire cruise with my card, I have complete ‘cancel for any reason’ coverage. The $95 annual fee seems like a good investment. My medical coverage is up to date so I think we’re covered.
Any thoughts?
I have this card, and didn't know I have trip insurance thru it. Guess I should look into it for our next cruise.

The rate to the Crystal Caves from St. George’s should be $20 to $22 for 1-4 in the taxi. From the caves to Tobacco about $21 to $23. Rates are metered to those figures are approximate.
Thank you! I appreciate the information.

That’s awful!! I guess I’m naive to think the taxi system is like here in NY, a set $ amount per mile. I’ll have to do more research to see what the average cost is for each leg and be prepared for that number.

We told him not to wait for us and he said he would watch for us to take us back when we were ready. He wouldn't take any money and said we'd settle once back to St. George's. I said fine but to make sure the meter's not running because I'm not paying him to wait. He took the long, long way back(I watched the signs as he drove and finally told him to bring us back now!) When we got there and he said 300 dollars I told him he was out of his mind! He threatened to call the police so I sat back and said good idea! I'll wait right here while you call them and if they say I have to pay it I will! He then went to 200 then 100 and I said nope, call the police. We settled on 50! My bad for not asking before I got in. And I still felt like I got robbed!

We'll be in Bermuda at the end of May on the Escape, and looking to spend 1 day going to Crystal Caves & Tobacco Beach. I'm thinking about doing the following:
Free ferry to St. George (unless the paid ferry has a better time)
Taxi to Crystal Caves
Taxi to Tobacco beach
Walk to St. George pier for ferry back to Dockyard
My questions are how available are taxis once we get to Crystal caves? And what's the cost of the taxis to Crystal caves? And then to Tobacco beach?
I'm looking at taxis rather than the bus for time savings.
Thank you,

I’m on the May 19th sailing.

I would like to see them as well, heading to Bermuda in May.

For me, it's about the itinerary first and then ship/cruise line the second. We usually cruise Royal and have cruised Carnival before, our next cruise is on NCL Escape because we wanted to go to Bermuda and liked the idea of 2.5 days there. We are looking at Alaska for 2020/2021 and are looking at Princess.

Great...Thank you!

Does anyone have the time schedule of the NCL ferry that goes to St. George? Does it run close to the sames times as the regular ferry from Dockyard to St. George?
Thank you,

You might want to compare the jetski tour at the Dockyards to the one at Somerset Watersports. The second is a 15 minute taxi ride and has been recommended by many CC writers. And they will pay for your taxi ride to get there.
Thanks, I'll look into them.
