Hub app is now working.   Yeah!  Another FYI…straws are hard to come by.  The bars are selling stainless steel ones, 4 for $4.95.  A few bars do have them but most don’t.  And…Pig and Anchor bar is awesome…I’m an Alchemy bar fan but P&A might beat it!

I've asked on FB but have you seen any Michelob Ultra at any of the bars?  My hubby drinks that and I've heard there was a shortage.  We cruise 9/18.

    • Small, personal-sized coolers no larger than 12” x 12” x 12” for the purpose of housing, small quantities of non-alcoholic beverages and/or medications are permitted as carry-on luggage

That's the one I remember but I guess I'm asking is how strict is Carnival with enforcing this?  All the smaller cooler leak when we have ice in it so looking to bring one that is a little better to keep our drinks and wine cold in our stateroom.

  3. Hello fellow cruisers.  Have a question regarding bringing a cooler on board.  I know Carnival used to have it that coolers had to be smaller than a 12x12 I think? Can't find the information on their Q&A page.  We are planning to bring a rolling cooler but using it as our carry on.  Will there be any problems with this??

So…Carnival should keep this embarkation system forever.  Arrived at 11:00.  On the ship by 11:20.  Didn’t wait in any lines, everything was incredibly smooth.  Ready for a great week!🛳

How was Carnival dealing with people not coming at their check in times?  Were they letting everyone in or telling early arrivals (with later check-ins) to come back?

Keep us posted on how things are on board.  We're sailing in 5 weeks.

  5. I had heard that this had been a problem but then heard that if you come earlier than your check in time, you will be sent to the back of the line.  Not sure how accurate this is but would be nice for them to enforce this.  Let us know how it goes for you.  We sail Sept 18th.

We booked the steakhouse in advance and it was available the first day, but after that it was sold out.....the Teppankai (sp) was sold out before boarding.....book now....Monday and Thursday were formal; nights on the Southern Caribbean 8 day cruise....disappointed in the steak house on presentation and food......MDR rocked it!

Monday?  I thought it would have been Sunday with it being the first day at sea.

This has been causing confusion on our FB roll call. Two separate people have posted these from two separate PVPs. Of course one says vaccinated and one says unvaccinated, but Carnival has stated 3 days in both instances. If they could just be more clear on what 3 days is, I guess.

** This has been around FB and its wrong.  John Heald posted last night on his page:  **

    TIME OF THE TEST.
This is the subject that had most of you confused and some of you became very frustrated and I do understand. There was some conflicting information put out by a few of our PVPs which I apologise for. So, let me make this as clear as I can for you.
It's not an exact 72 hours. We don't have a time stamp on this so please do not worry too much
You can get any time in the three days before you embark the ship
So if it's a Saturday departure, you can do the test on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.
If your cruise departs on a Sunday then your test can be done on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday
If your cruise departs on a Tuesday from Seattle you can get your test on Saturday, Sunday or Monday
Please do not worry about your check in time or the ship sailing time because again this is not time stamped to an exact time. Just a maximum of 72 hours before the cruise departure date please.

Dont forget the covid test for b2b carnival will call you to do. I've done any number of b2bs on more than 1 cruiseline  but maybe I like to handle my stuff myself. I even offered the steward a big tip but then when he wasnt around last time, moved myself. Oct next one, then jan then march then sept and dec, 4 in 2022. 1 this oct. So 5 coming up. I try and book b2b

I know we have to be tested in between cruises.  I was hoping we could move before we exit the ship to be tested.  Definitely will tip our new steward (as well as our old one for moving our stuff).  We have another B2B booked for April 2022 and one in 2023, both of them we have the same cabin.

You will receive instructions in your cabin a day or 2 before your 2nd leg. You will meet up at a location and all the B2Ber’s will be escorted off the ship and then back on. Leave everything on hangers. The stewards move that, hangers and all. Just pack up other things in suitcase and they will move those. I carry my valuables myself.

Thank you!  Wasn't sure if we'd have to take everything off the hangers, so that makes it easier.  Was going to introduce myself to our new cabin steward (same deck but just going from starboard to port side) and hope maybe we can slip in earlier and get unpacked again.

  10. We weren't able to get the same cabin for our B2B coming up in September. Anyone know how we move our cabins on a B2B?  I know our cabin stewards will handle it but will we have to basically pack everything up for him/her (clothes hanging in closet, etc)??  I know we want to make it as easy as possible for them but would hate to have to take everything off the hangers??

I know nothing about the ports in the DR, but I do like that there’s one less sea day…Guess I will have to research the two new stops!

La Romona is new to us.  We've been to Amber Cove once when we had a change of itinerary and made no plans.  They have a nice pool area that is free with a bar and restaurant right there.

I just logged onto my cruise planner and my itinerary has changed.  The original itinerary was the ABC islands and now it’s Aruba, Curaçao, La Romana & Amber Cove. I didn’t receive any kind of notification, but I’m guessing they took Bonaire out because they’re not allowing cruise ships still.

That would be my guess.  We're on the same cruise.  I was hoping they would have waited a couple more weeks before making a decision but guess not.

I just remember 2 very large bottles - LOL!  It's a nice perk IMO. 👍

They are nice to have in our room.  I add some  powdered Pedialyte to them for the evening rehydration 😉

Just off the Breeze July 19th sailing.  We were instructed to pick up our lg bottle of water at any bar.  Went to the Red Frog Pub and they provided the bottles for us.  We were on the Cheers program.  Upon return visits to the Red Frog pub, when ordering bottled water to carry around, they asked if we would like the large or small bottle.  The first time this happened, we explained that we already picked up our lg bottles and the bartender said that we could get the larger bottle on the Cheers program if we wanted it.   Not sure if this is ship specific or even Red Frog Pub specific or that we were on the 2nd cruise for the ship post pandemic.    The bartenders at the Red Frog Pub were the best on the ship and never said "no" to us about anything we asked.

Good to know.  Thanks!  We're on the Horizon for the first time and I can tell I'm already going to miss the Red Frog Pub.

If you are the Platinum or above level where you get the "chocolate delight" plate they usually deliver to the room, you can still get this too, just have to call room service and ask them to deliver.

Also, you will not receive your normal "free drink" coupon in your room, it is my understanding you just show your card at any bar and ask them for your free drink (someone can chime in here if I am mistaken).  We have cheers on our cruises so didn't pay to much attention to that one when people were posting, but I think that is what I remember seeing.

We're not platinum yet but forgot about the free drink.  I think you can only use it that last sea day.  We don't have cheers the first leg of our b2b coming up but do on the second.  Thanks for the info.

  16. I know this has probably been asked a million times but not sure if anything has changed since starting back up but when are the formal nights on a 8 day cruise?  I have it down as the first day at sea and then on the 6th day.  Anyone that has been on a recent 8 day clarify please?

if you get pin you have to go to pixel and pick it up... it's easy and quick  we did it on first sea day when they weren't busy.

I totally forgot about the pin.  Thanks for the reminder.
