Very interested to read your thoughts on the yacht Club experience.
Like you we are loyal Celebrity cruisers and feel very "at home" on their ships, in fact we have just returned from the Silhouette and absolutely loved the suite class experience especially dining in Luminae, however we have been lured to MSC by the loyalty match and the great prices for the Yacht club and so will be spending Christmas on the Fantasia in Dubai and Middle East.
We are so looking forward to it and personally have no problem with cruising with passengers form different countries, we are from the Uk and generally avoid the lines which sell to a predominantly British market.
We are lucky to have met friends from all over the world on our cruises.
I do feel a little bit like we are cheating on our favourite cruise line especially when we have just had such a wonderful cruise with Celebrity but the whole concept of the YC is calling my name!
Looking forward to hearing more about your trip.

Ooh glad to see they have the promised L'occitane toiletries in suites as advertised, hope they have them in the JS too. Will find out on Sunday!
-
Fabulous!
Looking forward to following along especially as we embark when the Silhouette arrives in Southampton on the 23rd.
We have friend's on the crossing too. Hope to see them for a couple of hours in Southampton too!

It's all very low key.

I managed to book the shows without getting the reservation conflict message. Don't know if they have fixed the bug or if I did anything differently but it finally worked!:)

I agree Donna. Plenty of entertainment there to keep us happy for 5 days. Not to mention all the fabulous dining options.
Also from past experience Royal are pretty generous compensating passengers when things go wrong while on a cruise.
On the Maiden Quantum transatlantic everyone got $300 refundable on board credit and a future cruise certificate to the value of 25% of their cruise fare. That was because things weren't quite ready, such as the bionic bar, 270 screens were still being installed and quite a few workmen were on board although those of us in inside cabins all got free upgrades to balconies to accommodate them so we didn't mind!
-
Lucky I saved my WOW bands from the Quantum. According to Anthem cruisers you can get them re programmed if you have them.
-
Thats still on the Anthem i believe.☺

Mamma Mia moved to the Allure after the Quantum so I can see them moving the whole set over to the Ovation for a few short weeks.
I would love it to be Mamma Mia, it was as good as the West End production on the Quantum!

Chic, The Grande, American Icon and Silk are the 4 main free dining venues along with the windjammer buffet, cafe 270, Sorrentos pizza, cafe Promenade and the Seaplex doghouse.
If you are already booked log on to your cruise planner on Royal Caribbeans website to see all your dining options.

Thank you so much for your detailed review, we will be on the Fantasia this Christmas in the Yacht Club. So excited!!
Can I ask you about the Spa package you purchased? I am considering treating myself to one as a Christmas present:D
Does the pre booking price include the gratuities?
Thanks
Lisa:)

Apologies if this has already been posted but I was just browsing the Royal Caribbean website and found this info:

A complimentary bottle of red wine welcomes your arrival.

Here is the link to the page:
Sounds interesting. Wonder if the prices on these cabins will increase to reflect the new perks!

Some great close up shots on the live cam, playing Enyas "Sail away" in the background too!

I sent Royal a private message via their FB page on 22 Feb asking when the naming ceremony for the Ovation would be taking place. I also mentioned that I was on the April 17 sailing.
On the 2nd March they finally replied that they are "looking at providing guests with a special experience to mark the inaugural sailing and will be in touch as soon as possible to share more details."
I must say it's all a bit strange. You would think by now they would have announced these things.
-
Ooh excited. We are in family JS on Ovation in April so it will be nice to get the Sea Class benefits. Love L'occitane toiletries!
-
Does anyone know when the naming ceremony will be?
Asked the question via private message on Royals FB page last week, yet to get a reply!
-
Hmm not to keen on calling Guatemala again.
Spent 25 mins on the phone yesterday at 7p per minute changing my booking to the suite!
-
They will let you go back into the guarantee pool in the UK.
I did this last week. We booked direct with Rccl UK. I phoned and asked if I could change to another cabin in the same category as ours was under the Windjammer.Been there before, noise drove us crazy.
The rep said I could not but offered to put me back to gty status.
A few hours later we got a better located cabin on deck 12.
When we have booked in the US it's never been a problem to change gty cabins as long as it's within the same category but they don't allow this in the UK but they should let you go back into the guarantee pool if you want to take the chance.
-
Well I went ahead and upgraded to a W gty for our upcoming cruise on the Ovation in April. Got our cabin allocation a Family junior suite on deck 8 , very happy but when I tried to reserve Coatal Kitchen online it wouldn't let me. Had no problem with the other restaurants.
May have to wait till I get on-board.
-
Hi.
Can junior suite guests on Quantum class dine in coastal kitchen?
Thanks

Relatives did Yacht Club a couple of week ago, and according to them (and they have done 75+ cruises) blew everything else out of the water. And that would include their many cruises on =X= including many in suites.
Good to hear. Thanks for that!

Interesting question!
As Celebrity fans ourselves we have been lured to try MSC by their Yacht Club concept and the loyalty match they are offering.
Believe me we are very loyal to Royal and Celebrity but the prices and reviews of the MSC yacht club have convinced us to try it for a week this Christmas.

Not sure if I would cruise in a regular cabin on MSC but the Yacht club reviews are pretty impressive.
Guess we will find out for ourselves at the end of the year!

Just booked a balcony gty on the Ovation April 17th 5 nighter for £464 pp with my diamond discount. Happy days!
Luminae first time may be last

We have recently returned from the Silhouette and our experience in Luminae was similar to Claudias. We were absolutely blown away by the fantastic service, food and ambiance in Luminae, in fact we only used one of our free speciality dining perks and we didn't get around to dining in Blu either although we love it there but we didn't want to miss out on Luminae.
We have been well and truly spoilt. It just goes to show how peoples opinions differ.
