As far as crowds go, if there is one ship there it's generally not that bad. When there are two, it can get a bit crowded.

Yes, I never understand why it is so long, could be a lot of first timers with legitimate concerns / questions.

Before my last cruise, I thought that maybe it had gone down a bit. With the implantation of American Table, I think it went up significantly. I felt every night I could find something that was good, to great. Before that offerings were kind of so - so.

I am bringing a bottle of wine on board. I am under the impression that I would only be charged a corkage fee if brought bottle to dining room. My co worker said her friend was charged a corkage fee for having the bottle in her room. Please confirm that I will not be charged a corkage fee if I drink the wine in my room.
You won't be charged the fee if you open in your room. Actually out of all my trip I've only been charged once in the MDR. Other times the waiter let it slide, or I even just started opening myself under the table. Most times they don't really care, I think.

It's a mutli tiered set up with lots of treadmills, bikes. Dumbbells , muscle isolation machines, a set up for pull ups. Very good gym if you want to maintain on your cruise.

Last time I was there I parked right at the port in their garage. I can't remember the price, but it was super easy and convenient

The benefit is the time honored tradition of saving for a rain day....or in this case a sunny day!

Sorry you had a bad cruise :( But it is incredible, that you've discovered time travel! :)

I have a 9 & a 6 year old. My kids stay with us the whole time, in areas that are meant for them (and us). They are well behaved on the ship (though not at home , ha!). If it says adults only, it's a no-go zone for us. There should be adults only areas. We cruise mostly on the Pride now, and it has a fantastic serenity area for adults, which seems to be enforce / respected well.

as previous poster mentioned Splendor is moving over to P&O (another Carnival Corp. brand), so they are probably holding off on any further 2.0 upgrades

Now here’s what Patti made me do. We will be getting off the Magic on October 21st, then drive up to Jacksonville to board the Elation the same day, another ship we haven’t been on. So now we will be aboard a ship for nineteen straight nights. I love my wife!!! Lol.
Good stuff my friend! You are my idol :)

next dry dock is in early 2018, but they haven't listed what's being done yet...i thinkk

Can't confirm or deny, but I would think highly unlikely on an older smaller ship that has space constraints and does shorter cruises

Get the villa, it's a little pricey but worth it. We did it last July made an unbelievable day even more unbelivabler haha. Booked one again for upcoming cruise, I'm hooked.

I think it's just a case of they never enforced the rule, so they removed it. I was on the Valor some years ago and have pictures of kids frolicking in the aft hot tub right next to the "adults only" sign. the entire cruise the rule was never enforced.

If it comes down to a matter of the ship definitely the Pride. I was on the Splendor 4 years, ago. while any cruise is a great cruise, just wasn't one of my favorite ships for some reason. Pride has a lot more to offer.

If you can put one adult in the room, and get one package I would do that. My friend cruised with us last year, and he had his own room and purchased cheers. He would buy drinks here and there for me and my kids (alcoholic & non alcoholic). worked out well

I haven't sailed a Fantasy class is 05 (the Fantasy), I would if everything lined up right for a short cruise. I think they are perfect for that. Longer cruises I need the balcony, I use it quite a bit.

Jeff- Great review once again ,may I say maybe you're best to date with the thorough, detailed description of the lock transit process. Thanks for whisking me away to a special place once again when I'm not actually there. Pride (Spirit class) in my opinion is really the ultimate "cruise" ship. Going back again in July for round 3!

absolutely. They do have a pretty good buffet lunch on the island though

Blue Iguana Cantina has watermelon triangles at the salsa bar, kids love them.

I DJ weddings for a living, most of them are cookie cutter and very forgettable. I myself was married on the Legend 11 years ago. You made an excellent choice! Getting married on the ship makes for a wedding that no one will forget, it's a great experience.

If you want a beach, just walk a little further down the beach where the cruise ship docks and get away from the crowds. The water is crystal clear and free of the rocks that are in the water by the pier.

From my experience if you're going with a large group, I'd go with a set time, and bite the bullet either way. I use ATD every cruise last year we had a group of 7, instead of our normal four and encountered some waiting. With four there was never a wait
