  1.

this was taken from 11305, which is right next to 11270. I would call it lots of things, but claustrophobic isn't one of them.

  2. The Lagoon at the far end of GSC is the best spot!

Tenders arrive at the top of the photo, and the lagoon is at the bottom of the photo! The tram runs back and forth on the road on the right of the photo!

    Lots of room, never crowded!:D

We had our Cruise Critic good bye party there!:D

The lagoon gets to about 12 feet deep in the middle, the sand there is terrific, and right there behind you within a few steps is a bar, and mini buffet with no lines!!!:D

The Tram will go back and forth between the lagoon and the tenders about every 20 mins.!

I'M JEALOUS, HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!

This is perfect and exactly what we are going to do. Too bad it's the very last day of the cruise. Always had a sea day or two at the very end.

  3. I've done a B2B, I'd say stay in the same cabin. Why make it more difficult?

As for cabin location, in my opinion that's overrated. I've stayed in various locations on various ships. People get so paranoid and freaked out about the motion. I've been on a couple of cruises where the MDR was like a ghost town

and passengers and crew were sick from the rocking and rolling. That's the only kind of "motion" I worry about.

  4. This will be my final post on any thread that belongs to Cruise Critic. I am SICK TO DEATH of listening to those who feel that it is their duty to bash MSC. .

Sorry, to hear about your husband.

You have to take all the "bashing" with a grain of salt. Some people bash just for the sake of bashing, some bash because they think it's fun watching others get upset, some bash because they feel empowered hiding behind their keyboards and some bash all other cruise lines except for the one they prefer(ok, I'm sort of guilty of that one). Some also bash for valid reasons and it may be a reason that you don't agree with or understand.

Just like in real life you have to take the good with the bad. Don't let a total stranger from Timbuktu ruin your day. I wouldn't lose any sleep over what is written out here.

Good luck to you and your husband.

  5. Thanks for your review dogchopper.

That being said, as soon as i read that you loved every Carnival cruise you've been on I knew your review of the Divina was going to be a bad one. Funny, the one thing we disliked the most on Carnival was the food in the MDR, on

    two different cruises.

Glad to hear that the Divina is beautiful, the staff was great and the shows were very entertaining.

    Thanks again for your review.

  6. For me, the least amount of sea days the better.

I'm just the opposite. I want to "cruise" the open waters. I go on a ship to get away from cars, cell phones, computers, TVs, etc.

A couple of ports is fine with me, but a week full of ports would drive me bonkers.

  7. Tom, I see you are sailing Divina within the next month and hope you will write a review here.

I know this is an MSC board and a Gambee review but was wondering why you wouldn't sail Carnival again? Did you write reviews I could see?

I hope you have a great MSC cruise and that you'll tell us all about it in October.

    Norris

Yes Norris, I write reviews, but not like Gambee and a few others out here do. They take reviewing to a whole different level.

My last Carnival review was about the Magic written 1/12 and it's out

there under member reviews under my screen name.

I guess we are Royal Caribbean people, but we've been on Princess, Carnival and soon to be on MSC.

Being our 14th cruise we were ready to try something a little bit different by going with MSC. With a great rate, an aft balcony and leaving from Miami I took a flyer on the Divina.

Usually we travel with family and mostly out of Galveston since we live in Houston and it's the first time since 2008 that it's just us two.

First time we've done two in one year too, although we have done one B2B.

Gambee didn't like most of the shows, but my wife is a show freak, so we'll be there all 7 nights. She also dresses up every night so no flip flops and shorts for me once the sun goes down. Fine by me, i can drink in any attire.

  8. No, you don't all have to buy the same, it is just when you buy an unlimited or all inclusive drink package that that rule applies. With vouchers buy as many or as little as you want.

Oh, i guess I misunderstood that. I bought the same amount for both of us. Now it will be more vouchers for me and less for her.

    Thanks for that valuable info!

  9. I want to stay out by Miami International pre-cruise and I am curious about comparing the Airport Marriott with the Crown Plaza. Both are in same general area with a comparable price, both have restaurants & a bar, nice pools, etc.

Are they basically the same or is one a way better choice? I will have a rental car and I know the both charge an arm and a leg for parking.

    Thanks in advance.
