So if the full value of your current journey is $10k you would receive FJC of $3K even if your cancelled trip is made up of previous FJC and cash payment and/or price adjustment ?

My read on it is 30% of the full price of the canceled cruise, regardless of how you paid for it. I don't know what FJC is but in any case, you can Call: 0 800 031 8935 to verify your specific situation.

  2. Here is what I just received in an email.

    Option 1 - Rebook a new journey -

“Move to another journey and receive a 30% Future Journey Credit for the full value of the current Journey.”

“Please take up to 30 days to decide.”

“Details on the new itineraries for EXPLORA II will be revealed in approximately 2 weeks.”

    Option 2 - Cancellation

"Clients will receive a full refund of the funds paid for their Journey."

    "No Future Journey credit."

I resemble that.  The games that they are playing...   The promises and plans not kept.  Checkout the original brochures...

    1) All day dining venue -- NOT

    2) Pool side dining with a lighter fare-- NOT

    3) Full in suite dining -- NOT restricted to In suite menu

    4) Transfers for residence -- severe mile limited

    5) Horrible liquor selection

We will make lemonade out of the lemons -- because it is a vacation..

Nothing is selling well  -- I have a site where I can see the cabins available and our cruise only 8 of the 26 residences are booked.

Is there a way I can locate the "site" you are referring to so I can see what the passenger load is for my November cruise?

I do not think I would sail on Explora even if it were free.

I agree, except I have a fully paid Explora 1 cruise for this November and don't want to pay penalties if I cancel. My Explora 2, February 2025 cruise will be canceled by Explora with a full refund, I assume. I will be looking at Silversea, Seabourn, RSSC, and maybe Crystal, although I'm still not happy losing money on the old Crystal Cruises.

The alternative to my rebooked and then cancelled is Athens to Istanbul but only 7 days . Original was 8 and the replacement 10 so who knows what credit I’ll now get

By the time they're done maybe you'll get a free cruise. Maybe more changes are on the way.

Very much Eastern Mediterranean, followed by months of Persian Gulf.  In seven to nine day chunks.

Big change from the grand concept of "voyages".

Yes, and the change is not for me, will be looking elsewhere.

Cancelled completely or brand new itineries coming out for Explorer 2

It's my understanding that the 2024 & 2025 Explora 2 cruises have been canceled, including mine per a direct phone conversation today with Explora customer service. The service rep said the itineraries that were posted on their website would be changed and that my travel advisor would contact me soon with new itineraries. So, it looks like there are both cancellations and new itineraries.

I am not sure this is right. They seem to work on new itineraries…

I also wanted to confirm that my February 2025 Explora 2 cruise had in fact been canceled, so I called the customer service number at 833-925-1567. The person I talked to confirmed my cruise had been canceled and that they are reworking the itineraries for 2024 & 2025 for Explora 2. She said my travel advisor would be contacting me soon for an update.

We had a great cruise indeed. One of the best cruises I’ve ever taken. Fortunately my 2025 explora booking can be cancelled without penalty

I was notified all Explora 2 cruises in 2024 & 2025 have been canceled. This was according to the onboard future cruise consultant from Explora 1.

  10. I have a February 2025 cruise booked on the Explora II from Durban, South Africa to Cape Town, South Africa. When I logged into my account the cruise was in the account and showed booked. When I do a search on Explora's website, the February 2025 cruise doesn't exist. So, I don't know what's going on and I guess I'll have to contact Explora during their business hours. You may want to check and see if your booked cruise has been changed or canceled.

  11. I have a friend on the current Explora 1 cruise and she said there are currently about 400 passengers. She said Sakura, Emporium Marketplace, and Marble & Co Grill were all excellent. She hasn't tried the other restaurants as she has only been on the ship for about 4 days. She hasn't seen any crowds at any of the restaurants, keeping in mind there are only 400 passengers on the current cruise. Most of her previous cruises have been on Crystal Cruise & Oceania Cruises.

    Thanks so much! @TER777

One more question. Strangely I did not see a refrigerator in the suites when gawking at all of the posted videos of the ship.  Is there a fridge there?

This is what is posted on Explora’s website for the ocean terrace suites description:

    • “Private refrigerated mini-bar, replenished according to the guests’ preferences.”

  13. I also received the letter today. My claim was for almost three times as much as the approved amount in the letter from Crystal. When I submitted my claim, I deducted what was reimbursed by one of my credit cards used. The requested refund I submitted to Chase was denied because of the time frame. So, I really don't understand how they came up with the amount that was submitted to Crystal. Just another mess to deal with regarding the claim I submitted.

Let us know when one is brave enough to be the pioneer…no one’s done so yet have they?

I think in 1999, Carnival Paradise tried it and it didn't last very long because they realized smokers spent more money at the casino and the bars.

Can anyone see the itinerary on this cruise (or ANY cruise for that matter)?  When we click on DETAILS on the website, it shows a map of the cruise, but unable to scroll down to see each stop, and any info about the stops, such as hours there, days at sea, etc.  THis is the case for every itinerary.  Also, I am unable to search any months once a pick a month to search for cruises. Only that initial month or months I chose will be searched, even if I pick other months.   That Hawaii cruise might be interesting, but would like to know the "DETAILS."  Is it a Mac thing, maybe, that their website is pretty close to unusable on a Mac?   Agree with you abt Sea days as a great way to judge a cruise, and we do love sea days.  But we cannot determine IF there will be lecturers, trivia, or what other activities on sae days.

I just searched for a cruise and on the map page after clicking on the itinerary, I just scrolled down from there and it showed the daily stops. I used an iPad for the search.

Thank you for trying to guide me!

I actually wanted to request a match for my Celebrity Elite Plus status. I’ll try it again!

Since this discussion is off-topic, it could be better addressed on the Explora Journeys Forum and then go to the thread titled "MSC Status Match Program." Then, if you ask for assistance using your Celebrity Captain's Club Membership #, I or someone will respond to help you accomplish what you need. Don't put your membership # in the thread. I also have a Celebrity Captain's Club Membership so I think I know what you need.

I’ve tried twice but I get to the part where it asks for my membership card and I’m clueless as to what to provide.

I kind of doubt that we’ll ever do Explora, but I certainly will be frustrated,if I failed to do it but don’t get to enjoy the benefits.

If you are referring to the World of Hyatt membership number, all you have to do is log into your Hyatt account and it will give you the membership number as well as the effective membership date. It will also show you your status such as Explorist, Globalist, etc. If you are using a Mac as I was, follow these directions to paste a screenshot of your membership to the MSC application form:

Press Shift-Command-4, then move the crosshair pointer to where you want to start the screenshot. Press the mouse or trackpad button, drag over the area you want to capture, then release the mouse or trackpad button.

    Hope this helps.
