  1. We had a genie about a year ago on Oasis and it was an amazing experience! My wife is actually booking us into a star class suite right now on the Allure

Thanks for responding. Any tips, anything that you wish you had asksed for etc....?

I have been wanting to experience the star class, for a while, and decided last minute “gonna splurge”! Actually found the 2BR ATS just 3 months b4 cruise.... lucky me huh. I know they are prime real estate.. Lol

  2. I would be interested in this as well.. albeit a different champagne (vueve clcquot). Also, does anyone have a list of the cocktails that are available on the drink cart?

Yes! A menu of the available cocktails for the in suite drink cart would be great.

I like Veuve, but not my fave, would be great to hear I could get my nectar, with the high cost of star class suites, I was hoping I could get it gratis.

Also want to have “realistic” expectations upfront...lol. Thanks

  3. For those of you having experienced this service, please can you advise:

One of my fave bubbles to drink is Moët Chandon Nectar.

Can I get that onboard from the genie, and would it be included?

Also the inroom daily drink service - can I get mango mojitos made up, how does that work?

If this isn’t poss to get the Moët Nectar, I can always bring some on with me, but prefer not to if available.

    Thanks so much.

  4. We sail this Saturday as well. We booked a JS quad (with our two little ones) for $4300 total including trip insurance and we have a $250 OBC. We have our family coming as well but they are in ocean view balconies so we won't be doing dinner in Coastal Kitchen every night. Frankly, from what I have read on here it seems no one raves about Coastal Kitchen.

I was in a CL suite, Great cabin and proximity to CK, but imho and “taste” I really did not think the food was that good at all.....disappointing.

I agree re a quiet and pleasant ambiance. Very nice, especially if you get a window table nearest to the ocean view.

Also the bar tenders very good, as were most of the wait staff...... but food options repetitive and lacking flavor .

Just my opinion so don’t beat me! Lol

  5. I agree with SorcerorTim, if you have the opportunity deffo a Crown Loft with extra people.

I was very lucky and had one a few weeks back on Harmony, just me solo. It was wonderful of course and just around the corner from lounge for food and drinks, perfect.. Windjammer is only one floor down too as you may prefer to eat ther sometimes.

The extra bedroom and bathroom on the first level of the CL would be perfect if traveling with children or another couple maybe....

    if you can, grab it!

Prices change all the time and you are far out.

I booked mine within 2 weeks of sailing date as a last minute and got it for >50% less than regular price, you just never know. Good luck with your decision.

  6. We are on the December 1 Oceania cruise and looking forward to it. We are doing ship's tours on the first day in Havana and in Cienfuegos and Santiago de Cuba. In Havana we are using Old Car Tours. Our roll call is dead so I thought I'd reach out here for some advice.

I hear the Parisian at the Hotel Nacional is indoors, air conditioned and smoke-free. I believe the Tropicana is outdoors, weather permitting, and smoking is allowed. Anyone know how the Parisian show compares to the one at the Tropicana?

What do I need to do to be sure my 6 hour tour with Old Car Tours meets US guidelines and how should I document it?

    Thanks.

I was checking into that also and found some great videos on Youtube. One guy had recorded the entire Tropicana show! some great clips to really give you a good overview... I hate smoke so think I will prefer Parisian, check out reviews on TripAdvisor too.

  7. Here you go! I have used this form many of times over the years. After you book keep a close eye on the price for 48 hours, if it drops simply complete this form. You will have the OBC applied usually in 8-12 hours.

Oh wow! All these years, all these cruises, and as I usually cruise solo, I pay double as it is, oh boy, can’t believe I was clueless about this!

    Thanks so much Michael.

  8. The OV price you are referring to was a "Y-GTY" which is an Ocean View Guarantee. They only put up a certain number of them, place those people into cabins and they usually come back. Watching the prices for years now, the Guarantee rates always come and go as inventory starts to sell.

I would recommend booking the inside "Z-GTY" and if the OV comes back, just move up and pay the difference.

I booked two days ago for this sailing solo Y-GTY sailing at $479, few hours later it dropped to $449. I completed the 48 hour best price guarantee claim form, since it dropped. They apply 110% to you in OBC, so I got $33 applied to my booking.

    Hope this helps!

That’s interesting. I need to check out this best price guarantee form, not aware of it, what a great suggestion...how could I be so unaware of this, jeeesh! Lol

I guess it’s on the site somewhere?

    Thanks for the advise!

  9. They def can. I'm booked on a celebrity cruise to Hawaii. I use the fishy site to monitor prices. I'm currently assigned to night shift and one night I got an email that the price had dropped dramatically. Took a screen shot and sent it to my TA. By morning it had gone back up but luckily I was able to get it. Some on cruisecritic said that they sometimes do late night price drops like that for TAs.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

That’s encouraging to hear. Thank you.

What do you mean the “fishy site”?

  10. I am used to seeing cruise prices jump around. There is no longer a fixed price IMO and the sales are just marketing gimmicks.

I only book if the price is right for me and all other criteria are met.

Very true, guess I don’t always check so closely in such a short period of time. I would expect a change after a few weeks maybe, but after a few hours just surprised me.

Oh well, will just keep an eye out. (yn)(yn)
