Is the parking lot next to the Sunset Bar the one that is closed from now until April? I was just looking up this info (We will be there with the Jewel of the Seas next week) and found a press release stating that the Maho Beach Parking lot just closed for construction and is not expected to reopen until April.
It was open last Tuesday, that's all i can tell you

7pm.....just sailed her last week
This is the correct answer.

People making comments that haven’t even been there, lol. We were there this week, enjoyed our time driving around the island and going to sunset beach along with shopping and drinking on the boardwalk. These people need our money and we were glad to help any way we could.
Yes they are burning debris in the landfill, what exactly do you want them to do with it? It’s only noticeable if you get down wind from it and you drive through it in 30 seconds.
St. Maarten is beautiful if you get away from the shopping areas, live a little people, they could use the support.

We saw it this week from a distance, couldn’t tell if it was open and running or not sorry, but a few in our group did say “no f’ing way” lol.

We parked in the lot next to sunset bar for free this week. Drive around the whole island including the french side, it is basically hard to get lost on the island. There is one road that cuts straight up through the island and the main road makes a circle around it. Lots of traffic so plan accordingly.

where do you recommend to catch a water taxi at Vicky? Whats the cost? Do they charge for small kids (2 and 3 yr olds)?
The water taxi is right at the end of the cruise pier, although they have some construction going on at the time we were there. Maybe 5 minute walk from ship to taxi. $7 for unlimited all day crossings.

Sorry to hijack the post, but we’re thinking of walking on the boardwalk on an upcoming cruise. What bars/restaurants and shopping do they have? How big is the boardwalk? Thanks.

It’s all bars and restaurants and shopping. Probably 3/4 to a mile long end to end, although we usually don’t make it past the Lazy Lizard:D:D

Thanks, sounds like a good idea for cost and flexibility, but we are a little concerned about driving on our own. Would appreciate your feedback upon return.

We rented from Hertz this week and booked thru Orbitz, just use Philipsburg as search. The pick up and drop off area is right inside the cruise ship terminal, when you walk off the pier turn right just past Effy jewelry and they are located at the back of the parking lot.
We drove all over the island including the french side, no problems, lots more visible damage on french side, and some services may be limited, but I wouldn’t discourage you from at least seeing that side.

Also we drove around to the french side, you can get through no problems, but lots of damage and some services are not available.

I realized after booking it that the boatyard beach is at the same port stop. Hoping I made the right choice here now. [emoji15]
My wife specifically ask if we are going to Barbados just so we can go on the calibazza cruise when i book cruises.

We are in St. Martin next month and would like to tour the island, particularly the French side. Can you provide any details on your Jeep rental. We would prefer to take a taxi to visit several beaches but I’m not sure that is feasible in St. M. Thanks in advance

Rented from hertz. They have a place close to the dock area. Cost about $100 for the day. Will post more important issues after our trip.

We rented a Jeep for next week, will we be able to drive around the island/ French side.

We are also on this sailing, flying from Detroit to BWI then to San Juan. Staying at a Airbnb in old San Juan on Saturday morning . Are you doing the Calabaza in Barbados? If you are it’s fantastic, this will be our third time with them.

I was told on Navigator last year there was a 15 min wait between drinks, you can not order a double, if there was no wait you could get a double. But no limit on amount of drinks, I have no problem with 15 mins
This is only for drink packages correct? Time limit I mean.

Do they have one called "Sex on the Ship" that would be one I would like to try.:D
I've had it on every cruise I've been on. Enjoy it each and every time:p

While I won't argue or disagree with what you were told on the phone, I don't believe that's accurate. And unfortunately, it's not uncommon to get in accurate information from customer service reps.

Who knows, but I did purchase the 3 dinner package and have a reservation for the first dinner, just don't know where it is yet.

So it is tuscan. Thanks a lot !!!
When I called she said I couldn't pick the first restaurant, but that more than likely it would be Tuscan Grille. Which is what I wanted so no objection from me.

Got an email today from Celebrity asking me to provide passport details for flights etc. The problem is we have paid the deposit but not the full balance as that is not due until next month. So went onto the web site to "check in" and it won't let me is that because we have not paid the balance in full. A bit confused.com here, as not sailing until 22nd April, but Celebrity are saying that they need the passport details etc. Anyone else had this
Not sure. I was able to do complete check in months ago including passport info and flight numbers. Then just did final payment last week. Maybe try different browser or clearing cache?

A couple years ago, while in Aruba, the Eclipse was still there at 8:00. It was very cool to have our evening catamaran trip sail the length of the eclipse on the way back to the port.
I noticed that the Eclipse now leaves Aruba at 5:00. Oh well.
We are on the Eclipse in March and also have the sunset catamaran excursion planned in Aruba. We depart at 8 pm.

Many people ignored Celebrity's request to stagger arrival and just had to wait, boarding was very easy at 1200 when we arrived.
I'm interested in this statement, can you elaborate?

Celebrity promotes itself as providing Modern Luxury at sea. The illusion is to make people feel special, pampered, privileged.
Doesn't this make you just like the masses screaming over "trinkets" when you fall for a silly marketing ploy? There are plenty of luxury cruises to be had out there, if I was looking for that I sure wouldn't pick one of the major(mass) cruise lines.
To me it surely feels like luxury being on a cruise ship, I don't need to feel special. Maybe its because I work 70-100 hrs a week driving truck trying to save enough to take a 2 week vacation some place warm.
-
Modern Luxury? Maybe - but most of the people I saw around the ship, at the buffet, or digging in the Boulevard sale items didn't look like they lived lives of luxury at home, and I couldn't help wondering if the illusion was satisfying and at what cost?
Could you explain this to me?

I would like to let people know that we agree with Host Jazzbeau about the Barclaycard Arrival Plus card.
This is the correct answer to all travel rewards credit card questions. Cannot beat this card for travel rewards. I also got the Celebrity card to get the free specialty dinner and OBC, but plan on cancelling after my March cruise.

Went to book our Infinity P.C. cruise for March of 2017 - but there is no March dates listed - only April. There have always previously been March sailings. Is there some info out there on this that I have missed? I've got a cabin on hold for the earliest April date but really wanted March.
Can anyone that can see these bookings tell me what an average Verandah balcony room is running for spring 2017 PC sailings? I'm just a low life that can't book until 12/5 and was wondering how early pricing is compared to sailings that are already available.
How easy/hard to walk from ship into town for shopping or restaurants/bar.
