If there are water slides expect them to be different in some way from everyone else. :)
Yes, I expect the slides to drop everyone that uses them into the ocean. This also serves a dual purpose of creating shorter lines as the cruise goes on, something I fully support.

It took over an hour, the boarding process was a total and complete goat rope. The worst and lost disorganized I have ever seen. We are now on board and the ship is amazing.
Is it really that unacceptable for an hour embarkation on a new ship in a new terminal for one of the first sailings?
-
There are two other ships in Philipsburg that day. The Eclipse and Regal Princess. Total capacity of 8400 pax that day. I looked into what was available on both ships and I'm gonna assume that there are 7000-7500 booked for all three ships.
I checked some of the websites that tell you what comes in and seems fairly consistent for what flights come in each day. The big AF/KLM is scheduled to arrive at 3:05 pm that day after looking on Expedia. If that is the case then we would leave right after it comes in. So 3:30 at the latest. Should give us plenty of time.
I was at Maho Beach last week. All the big planes were on the ground by 3pm. It was awesome btw. You can't walk 15 feet without being accosted by taxi drivers looking for fares back to the port area. We left sunset bar at 3:15 and were shopping downtown by 3:45. Then we just took the water taxi back to the ship. Your schedule looks fine to me. We had 3 ships in port and over 12,000 pax.

Did you happen to notice whether they had switched to dealer manned Texas Hold em from the automated table?
Texas hold em is still automated. While it doesn't give the same feel as with actual cards and chips, it certainly speeds the game up. Our tournament lasted only about an hour. Nice $416 payday for an hours worth of work :D.

This is great information! Where did you get this?
It was posted on a bulletin board in the galley on the all access tour.
-
I assumed you grabbed that photo during your all access tour? How was that? I want to take it but can justify the $150
Yep, I loved the tour. My wife works in the food service industry so she was very interested in the galley and I'm a guy so I loved the engineering and of course the bridge.
I don't think I would do the tour for that price on another class ship, but for the Oasis class it is great.

Have you tried any old random card instead of your sea pass card to see if will work for the master switch?

How can I subscribe to this thread?
You just did.

Where did you all renew at? Post office?

Subscribed, looking forward to the rest.

Couple of questions.
Are reservations needed for lunch at Giovani's?
Is unlimited internet available on Allure? Or what internet packages available?

We just bid on priceline. I narrow it to 4 stars and Waikiki Beach area. That drops it to about 8 hotels and any one of them are good and you can get them for any where from $100 - $140 a night. We got the Aston Waikiki Beach this time.

Enjoy your cruise and the memories you will make.

O.K. that is a fish eye, correct? What lens...I recall you do Nikon, right?
Look at the railing, you can see it's just multiple pics stitched together.

Ask this on the Florida Departures board:)
Doesn't Allure depart from Ft. Lauderdale?

Enjoy your cruise. Looking forward to following along.

Is there a way to know now what name brand liquors are in classic vs premium?

and the ship must be in the 'stern first' orientation for the conveyance.
:D
I've seen this posted a couple of times. Why is this?
-
Just a note that we won't really know about itineraries beyond April 2016 until the March/April 2015 timeframe.
I've been wondering when the summer 2016 sailings get listed. So they normally come out in the spring of the prior year?

I'm also in the planning stages for a canal cruise. My thoughts are I want to do the west bound because of gaining time going west and also less air travel time going west to east.
I thought I read somewhere on CC that Celebrity may have a bigger ship crossing in May of 2016(new locks?), has anyone else heard that?
-
The OP said "I was thinking I wanted to do the full crossing, but now wondering if it is worth the extra cost."
I simply stated my preference for the partial vs the full transit.
Yes I read that, my attempt at a joke was that on back to back post one said no reason to do a full and then the next post was about not seeing the reason to do the partial.
All thoughts are welcomed, but in the end I guess like most things CC there is no consensus.
After every cruise I make the same comment....

I just came off the Allure in Nov and I want to add that while elevator etiquette is not a lot of peoples strong suit, when you're standing waiting for one of any 6 elevator doors to open, and as is apt to happen the one farthest away opens, so you rush to catch it and you can't really see if someone is trying to get off it can look like you weren't waiting but simply wasn't standing at the door when it opened.
Also when the doors open and the persons that have been moved to the back after a couple of stops it does take an extra second to get thru to exit and I think that causes some of the encounters with the ones getting on.
I didn't think it was terrible on our cruise, but as always there's always a few.
