  1. Good morning! I am very grateful for my two functioning brakes this morning. We are moving and we are grooving. I woke up startled early this morning when my sliding cabinet doors started opening and banging on their own, and I must ask: sliding doors? On a ship? I ended up stuffing a pillow in there, which solved the problem, but I couldn’t go back to sleep and watched The Office while being rocked by the ocean. But now I’m up and ready to start the day! And I know which end of the ship I’m staying in, now, so I’m feeling pretty optimistic about things.
  2. Thank you. It’s a hard job, but someone has to do it 😉 Wishing you the best cruise on Oasis!
  3. I hope so, too! Just listening to their pre-show 80s playlist music had me super pumped.
  4. It’s been called: Aqua Show is cancelled and our reservations will be transferred to tomorrow night. They were communicating with the bridge for a while, trying to find better weather, but in the end it wasn’t meant to be. I cannot imagine how much time all that manoeuvring will cost us in the race across the Atlantic. Boleros was really hopping and I was tempted to stop for a little bit, but I am all out of energy and Diamond vouchers. I’ll see you tomorrow! Pet update: I am a towel dog owner, now.
  5. I’m currently sitting at the Aqua Theatre, but my secret source (aka a guy I just met) told me it’s probably going to be cancelled. It’s so windy that I kind of hope they do. While I wait, here are some pictures of the Boardwalk.
  6. Central Park looked lovely, tonight, although a bit wet so I’m guessing it rained a little while I was indoors. Dinner tonight was at 150 Central Park. The plan was to use tonight as the first night of my Diamond Plus BOGO and then complete the BOGO offer tomorrow at Chops. After two years, I was reunited with my favourite bread. Things got a bit intimate at my table as I delicately tore into it 👀 I had the Roasted Spiced Pumpkin Bisque for my appetizer. It’s the same thing I had last time, but it was so delicious that I had to get it again. I promise I’ll try something new when I return in a few days. For my entrée, I had the Roasted Tenderloin of Beef. They can do it for just one person, but it doesn’t come with table side theatre. I was very fine with that. It was incredibly tender and cooked to perfection (barely). The truffle mashed potatoes were also a big hit for me. I would get this again without hesitation. For dessert, I had the Peanut Butter Chocolate Tart. Now that I’m looking at the menu, I realize that it should have come with some black currant sorbet, which would have helped cut the sweetness a bit. Still, it was delicious, I just wish it came with more of the little fruity circle things (or some sorbet). 150 Central Park did not disappoint and I’m excited to return and try all new things. After dinner, I had a chocolate martini at the Treillis Bar. I didn’t think to take a picture because I was too busy dealing with the elements. It’s really windy tonight, y’all! If you want pictures of chocolate martinis, I invite you to check out my Alaska review where I drank about 50 of them.
  7. Hello and thank you for joining me on this cruise 😊 Ronn was amazing! Loved every minute, too. We saw the green dragon in his intro video, but he wasn’t part of the show. I think he had Willy with him, but I’m not 100% sure of the name. I just posted a picture of him.
  8. Fiiiiiiine. I loved the ventriloquist 😂 His show was absolutely amazing. I don’t have a lot of experience with ventriloquists, so my opinion means very little, but I thought he was incredibly talented. I will for sure go and see his upcoming matinée show if I can. I wasn’t expecting to cry during a comedy show, but I lost it a little bit when he told us about his grandfather and how he used to make puppets talk for him. Those of you who followed my adventures in Alaska may remember that my grandfather passed away last year when I was in Vancouver. Then, we lost my grandmother early this year, so I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a little sensitive in the grandparent department. Based on the cruising demographic, I’m going to assume there are a few grandparents reading this thread. What you do with your grandkids matters so much, even if it seems little, like making a puppet out of a sock, or pulling them around on a sled in the backyard or baking gingerbread people. Shoutout to all the awesome grandparents on this thread. And now I’m going to go think of something else because I don’t want to be known as “that lady who cried in her soup” here at 150 Central Park.
  9. It is formal night and I am out and about all fancy. And by fancy I mean I’m wearing my formal sneakers (they’re black), the darkest jeans I own and a top with no Disney characters on it. The promenade is also looking fancy. But I fear I may be at a ventriloquist show! I usually avoid those and the app didn’t mention any dolls. But here I am in the theatre looking at a slideshow of dolls. I do have a cosmo, so let’s see how this goes.
  10. I arrived early for the Liars’ Club game show. They were having an auction for The Make-A-Wish Foundation. They were auctioning the following: a VIP pass for shows, a VIP pass for the zipline, a pickleball clinic for two, a Flowrider lesson, dinners at specialty restaurants for two, a Bingo package with cards and a t-shirt, 100 digital photos and an All-Access Tour for two. After the auction, it was time for Liars’ Club. I had seen this show before on the Wonder with the cruise director, the two comedians and the comedy juggler. This time, it was four members of the crew For anyone who was at the show: HURRAY! It was a fun show, and I’m not going to compare it to the show that had professional comedians in it, but I will say I think it works better as an evening show. I had a good laugh before the show even started. A woman approached me and said she was following me. Of course, I thought she meant Cruise Critic, but no! We’re talking actual stalking, here. You know how there’s always that one person on the cruise that you see everywhere? I’m that person for her 😂 I’m back in the room now and I can really feel the ship moving. I’m having a bit of a rest and some light unpacking and getting ready for an evening of classic cruise fun. Shows! Food! Cocktails!
  11. Thank you, I appreciate it. I’ll be happy to answer any questions or look things up for you if it can help plan for your trip. Sounds like some very fun pre-cruise plans! And once the Europe part is done you’ll have loads of sea days and some extra hours of sleep to rest and recuperate.
  12. I took my lunch up to deck 16 to get a good view of the upcoming officers vs guests pool volleyball match. From my viewpoint, I could see the volleyball game very well. I could also see loads of people down on deck 15 enjoying some soft serve. I had to make my way down and have some. After that, I made my way to the theatre using the Promenade as a way to cross the ship. I wanted to swing by Sorrento’s and see if they had some small bites as well as pizza. On the Wonder and Anthem, they used to have things like olives and prosciutto and cheese. I developper a bit of an obsession with the spicy cheese on Wonder. I didn’t see anything like that on Oasis, but perhaps it’s because I wasn’t there during peak meal time the two times I checked.
  13. Captain was just out in the pool playing volleyball with other officers. Perhaps that explains a lot… 👀
  14. Around 13:00, I went down to deck 15 for some comida mexicana. Or, you know, RCI’s version of it. My first time spotting the Boardwalk on this trip from the El Loco Fresh area. Some of the food they offer. I grabbed a small plate of chips and added some chili con carne and some frijoles. I then sprinkled some shredded cheese from the toppings bar and voilà! A perfect lunch. The chili tastes the same as I remember from the Wonder. Not spicy at all, but very flavourful considering it was made on a cruise ship. I’m ready to bet that this will not be my last plate of chips and chili on this trip.
  15. The last time I saw you, I was on a quest to find the perfect relaxing spot on the Oasis. I can’t say I have found it yet. I went to the enrichment lecture about privateers and the role they played in the American War on Independence. I thought it was interesting and I will be keeping an eye out for his next sessions. The two people next to be seemed to love it. They napped the whole time 😂 Feeling very enriched, I went up to the Solarium Bar for a Peach Daiquiri. The previously-spotted tabled were all occupied, so I found a spot where I could read and watch the ocean without bothering anyone. Eventually, I moved to the Lime & Coconut for a Lime & Coconut and some more reading. While there are no regular tables, I find the big wooden bench is a good spot to put my drink.
  16. This has happened to me more times than I can count. Pretty sure that’s why the internet was invented 😂
  17. That is some very good looking food and a fun looking party! Sounds like you had a great first night 😊
  18. Since I had some time to kill, I decided to look for my new favourite spot. To me, a favourite spot is an actual table. One I can roll under and put my elbows on. There were some outside the Solarium Bistro, but I don’t want to be jogging one of their tables during peak meal times. I started by going up to deck 16 to check out the Solarium Bar. There are a few up there. They’re in the shade, so good for reading my books on my phone. Then, I did a lap around all of deck 16. The weather is beautiful, so people were already enjoying the pools. Sadly, no regular table out in the sun. Only bistro tables everywhere and I rarely ever see those being used.
  19. Good morning! I slept very well last night. The bed would for sure be too soft for some, but I felt like I was drifting off while on a cloud. This morning, the plan was to stick to my usual routine. Go down to the Crown Lounge on deck 4 for a coffee and then up to the Solarium Bistro for a bite to eat. So I went down to deck 5 to roll across the ship without carpet, and then down to deck 4. Except the Crown Lounge wasn’t there. Both my stateroom and the Crown Lounge are at the front of the ship, so that was all for nothing. To punish myself, I rolled on the carpet all the way through the casino and art gallery to the Crown Lounge. Ugh. I hate it here 😂 The Crown Lounge had a pretty big line for the coffee machine, but there were still seats available. The plan wasn’t to stay, though. It felt a bit stuffy in there, too, so I got my coffee and left. On the way to the elevator, I found a friend. Man, I love the Solarium. There are towels on chairs for sure, but someone coming in right now could find a place to lounge. The outside section of the Solarium Bistro is almost full, but I found a table next to a palm tree that tickles my head when the wind blows. It’s a whole vibe in here. I got my usual breakfast of fruit and cheese. The plan is not to overeat if I want to have a small bite for lunch (maybe El Loco Fresh?). The doughnuts were camouflaged between some danishes, so I almost missed them. I’m glad I didn’t. That is one good, fresh, vaguely maple-flavoured doughnut.
  20. I am still so, so tired. But my Disney friends are also still exhausted so I’m not too worried. This is why I chose to book a week at Disney before a cruise with 9 sea days. Plenty of time ahead to recuperate. Dinner tonight was at Giovanni’s. I had a half portion of the mushroom risotto to start. I thought it was excellent. Definitely more flavourful than the one I remember having in the MDR on the Radiance. I had the garlic prawns for my main. The prawns were good, if a bit chewy, and the potatoes were alright. They were a good vessel to bring all that garlic juice from my plate and into my mouth. By then, I was too exhausted to be hungry anymore, so I had my chocolate and hazelnut cake to go. It looks really yummy, even if transportation ruined the presentation a little. I look forward to trying it. But now is not the time. Now, we slumber! See you tomorrow!
  21. Admittedly feeling a bit tipsy, I took myself down to Central Park where the vibe is really chill. I have an 20:00 reservation at Giovanni’s and I’m enjoying the guitar player Igors. I’m also enjoying a Passion Spritz from the Treillis bar, but I’m sipping it slowly.
  22. I added some flames, because clearly Team Oasis is going to beat you and we will make it to Barcelona first 💪
  23. I ended up going to the solo meet and greet up on deck 16 at the Wipeout Bar. I am now part of a group chat! We ended up moving to the Solarium where they were having a private sailaway party for Diamond members and above. It was pretty well attended. I can’t really remember what I ate and drank, which is an indication of what (how much) I drank. A big thank you to everyone who recognized me and came to say hello. Hello back! It was so nice to meet you! I think we were originally scheduled to leave around 16:30, but it was closer to 18:00 by the time the captain blew the horn and we set sail.
