Hi Dave, just getting caught up, I've been behind on my updates on the Regal Princess. Thanks for all the webcam screen shots. Hope you're well.:)

Hi Carolyn, I'm really enjoying your live from thread. I too thought that the food on the Royal was the best ever when we sailed last winter. I believe Josef was the executive chef then as well. Thanks for posting and keep enjoying your cruise.

I enjoyed the food on the Royal Princess last year as well.

Have a wonderful cruise, I'm looking forward to your reports from the Regal. :D

Good read, thank you for posting it.

Dave you will be remembered for your contribution to these boards. However, we will miss you greatly if you leave. Don't go!

What a great idea!:D

Thanks for posting, now we won't need to ask for it.

Lew, thanks for sharing the link with us.

It is possible that Princess is aware that many Princess loyals miss many aspects of the Grand class ships that are absent on the Royal class and that this is OK with them. Princess may be OK with leaving out these features as it helps keep their older ships full and use the newer ships to attract a new group of cruisers who aren't familiar with the Grand class.

The new Regal Princess seems to be doing well with 83% approval rating on CC so far.

They are advertised as the same. Royal/Regal 142,229, New ship 143,000. So I would not expect much difference in size.
OK, when they started sailing the Royal, the reports were saying she was 141,000 GRT. So perhaps they have recalculated her size and now the third one might actually be exactly the same size, thanks.
-
This is great news. I think that the GRT is larger for this ship than for either the Royal or Regal, which are 141,000 GRT. Hopefully there will be some interesting changes made to this new build.

It all sounds wonderful to me, I look forward to trying some of these delicious looking items whenever I book my next cruise.

Wonderful review, thanks so much for taking the time to post it. I thoroughly enjoyed it all. :D

Great review, I'm enjoying it immensely so far. Looking forward to all of the rest of it.:)
-
That would be great. I'd certainly be interested especially since some of it was filmed while we were on board the Royal earlier this year.
-
Thanks for your review. I'm sure I'd enjoy the Regal as well.

Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canadians. :D

Most excellent review, thanks for taking your time and posting all of your thoughts about the Regal Princess.

Going on the Royal for a Christmas cruise. I've been reading many of the reviews for passengers sailing on the Royal, but few are mentioning the tea tower. As a tea drinker, I like the idea but am curious if it is open daily or just for special events during the cruise. Anyone else who enjoys a good cup of tea have any insight?
I had specialty tea from the tea tower more than once on our cruise and really enjoyed it. It is open as far as I know, when the IC is open. However, not all the crew working at the IC knew much about the various teas available there.

I agree, I would like to see chai tea and chai tea lattes available on Princess ships.

Thank you Lew for the link.

Well that would have been more excitement than I would have expected on Santorini.
CCL to roll out new Hybrid higher speed internet over next 2 years

Because it is only on the Regal Princess so far in the Princess fleet, and because it is only available right now in the Caribbean routes, we wouldn't have seen any reports of the internet speeds being better on the Regal because it has only just now arrived here in North America and soon to be doing the Caribbean cruises where this service is available.
