  1. I always put my make-up in my carry-on tote.

Last cruise, my bag that carried all my other beauty products, shampoo/conditioner, deodorant , lotions, perfume/cologne, etc., never made it to my room. Dropped my bags off at the port, and never saw that particular bag again!!! It had all my info on a leather strapped tag, including my hubby's cell number that he carried on the ship. Also had the cruise luggage tag, just like all my other bags. The other bags made it:confused: First port, Nassau, I went into town and bought my necessities $$$!!!

Still waiting for that bag to show up;)

  2. SAMs club has a pair of bling pocket jeans from nine west in stores and online right now for $26. Much higher rise than miss me but not frumpy. They fit like bandolinos.

Yep, those are the ones that I usually buy. They used to carry Bandolinos, now they are Nine West. Same basic styling and fit. I look at them every time I am at Sam's Club. I may still pick up a pair or two!

Since starting this thread, I have purchased 2 pair of Miss Me's. They do sit a little lower than what I am accustomed to, but not so far to be uncomfortable. Very stylish, and look great with heels and boots.

  3. Tolls for bridges and tunnels are collected in only one direction...when you're headed into New York City (in this case Staten Island).

Assuming each of the 4 axles are single-wheel, the toll for the Outerbridge Crossing heading into Staten Island should be $32. No toll for your return trip.

I believe you had said earlier that the motorcycle was the only vehicle going from Staten Island to Bayonne, in which case there would be no toll on the trip from the hotel to Cape Liberty, and an $11 toll on the trip from Cape Liberty back to the hotel in Staten Island.

Thank you! Yes, the axles are single wheel. Just trying to be prepared when we get to a toll booth.

  4. This is my favorite, as well. I've been wearing it for over 10 years. And, I've recently bought the DK Cashmere Mist Pearl....love it!

However, on cruises, I LOVE to wear Bobbi Bown Beach. Smells like the old Coppertone I wore as a teen...only better! :D

I would love to try BB Beach. But there is no store close to me. I use Estee Lauder's Bronze Goddess (one that I am taking on my next cruise) which I believe is similar. Both "beachy" scents.

My cruisin' perfumes are D&G Light Blue. Love that fragrance!!! Lasts all day. I also fell in love with Marc Jacob's Daisy. Purchased that on my last cruise.

  5. Actually, not all of them are low rise, they have several cuts and styles. I buy the ones that are not low rise as I also try to stay away from low rise and this brand is my favorite. Also, I am 38 with 4 kids. They are very comfortable and flattering on me.

I have been looking at the different styles and have found several mid-rise pair that are not much shorter in the waist than what I am used to.

That's promising. Because I, too, do not like jeans that sit low.

  6. Hi,:) I googled this brand.....may I ask what is so good about them? Just curious really. Guess I am out of touch, never heard of the brand.

Ha ha, until a few weeks ago, I never heard of them either!!! I personally like the stitching and embellishments on them. But, that being said, I would hate to spend the money without being able to try them on first to see how they fit me. I also would not buy them unless they were on sale. Yep, I can be cheap:D. I purchase my jeans and capris, Bandolinoblu's brand, at Sam's Club:eek: for $16 - $20 range;). Same ones Macy's sells for double that. So the thought of shelling out $50 - $100 plus, makes me stop and try to find out a little more about this brand.

  7. I love Miss Me. They are my favorite jeans. If you have a mall nearby the store "Buckle" carries Miss Me. I buy them for myself and my 8 year old daughter. I believe you can also order directly from Miss Me's website.

Well, there is a Buckle in the Columbia mall on the way Baltimore where my daughter lives. And another at the Park City mall near Lancaster, PA. We will be going to both places in the next month or two. Guess I will have to make a stop!!!!

Thanks for the info. It is greatly appreciated!!!

  8. I normally wouldn't take jeans on a cruise, but my next cruise is a motorcycle cruise. As in, ride your motorcycle up the gangway, park it, and ride off as a group at the different ports of call.

I need to invest in a couple more pairs of jeans. I would like to get some embellished jeans. Miss Me have caught my eye. There are no stores near me that carry them. I can order them from Macys and numerous other retailers.

Does anyone wear this brand? If so, what is your opinion of them. They are quite $$$, at least for what I am used to paying for jeans. So I guess if I decide to purchase them, I will probably wait for a sale. I'm not in the desperate stage yet;).

So, anyone with any experience with this brand??? Or, something that is similar.

    Thanks much!!!!

  9. I hope no one minds a serious rookie dropping by! :o I'm just so excited, I have a shiny new DSLR (Nikon D3200) and wanted to post two of my very first pictures. I'm seriously a rookie, I've never even held an SLR never mind actually used one... which will be obvious in the pictures... but am impressed so far - since I pretty much just pulled it out of the box, pointed and shot (I am going to be taking courses to learn how to use the camera properly). Clearly it's overly kind to dummies!! I'm very much looking forward to figuring this photography thing out :)

Also wanted to add there are some wonderfully talented photographers on this site - I very much enjoy the amazing pictures people post!

May I just tell you, for just pulling it out of the box and shooting, you did AMAZINGLY well!!!

Keep up the great work! And enjoy your camera classes:) Oh, and keep posting pictures!

  10. Love all the new pics! The Udvar-Hazy museum is practically in my backyard and I've yet to get over to see the Discovery. (I took off work to watch it being flown in). I need to go.

    Great shots!

Thank you. Quite an amazing place to visit! Sometimes it seems like the things that are in "our own backyard" are the last places we visit. Why is that???

Great pictures indeed. Brings back memories of our visit last August!

Thank you very much. And I really enjoyed your video!

  11. I love dragonflies. Unfortunately the ones we have in Texas aren't particularly attractive - no pretty colors.

This is one of the prettiest dragonfly's that I have seen here.

    Wow! Now that's a close-up!

I was sitting about 10 feet away. He sat for a LONG time on my hummingbird decoration that sits beside my koi pond/water garden.

What kind of lens do I need to take pictures like this?

Just my Canon SX40HS. It's what I do all my shooting with.
