I appreciate your comments! I’ll try to be patient and wait until our TA is back in her office on Tuesday.

After check-in is complete how do we obtain our cruise documents? The information I have mentions electronic cruise documents but I can not figure out where to find them much less download and print them. (Final payment was made quite a while ago and check-in done earlier last week.). Our trip begins with a pre-Jordan extension on October 26th if that makes any difference so it’s still four + weeks away. Thanks for any guidance you may have!

I believe at least on some ocean cruiselines a note on letterhead signed by your doctor stating that you have recently recovered from Covid is sufficient. In any case I would contact your cruise line ASAP for an answer.

I guess I just got lucky but I called Celebrity this morning after receiving the email about the cancelled Solstice sailings. I was on hold for about 10 minutes before talking with a rep. It took about 10 minutes to accomplish what I needed but all told it was quick and painless. The # I called is 1 (888) 751-7804.

We were booked for the April Japan cruise and as soon as I received the email this morning I was on the phone to Celebrity. (Usually book with our TA but had booked this cruise onboard at the beginning of the pandemic and forgot to transfer it. Worked to our advantage this time I think.)
I was only on hold a short while before a very helpful rep was able to move us to the (shortened by two days) March 28, 2023 sailing. We were booked in an S2 but only two S1’s were available (an aft corner!) so quickly snagged it.

Enjoy your cruise! As always I thank you for the commentary and taking us along with you!

We are planning a Crystal cruise in the near future. From what we read and what friends have said the dress code on Seabourn is more formal than Crystal.

On our mid-June Alaskan cruise we carried lightweight down jackets and vests that take up very little space when packed. It looks like you live in Florida so might not have much need for those items otherwise so could wait to look for sales next March. (My jacket was inexpensive, came from Amazon and was perfect though.) Coupled with long sleeve tech type t shirts, a lightweight hooded rain jacket, gloves and a hat and we were fine. I’ll also add that onboard, day or night, it was the most casually dressed cruise of any we have been on.

Bon Voyage! Have a wonderful cruise and thanks for taking us all along with you!

I’m not sure I would want to go alone but that’s just me. I think as long as the person testing negative repaid their friend it would be fine to go on the cruise. It would NOT be cool to expect the person testing positive to pay half when they are not able to go. However another consideration for me would be if my friend wanted to rebook at a later date when they would presumably test negative. If I could swing going twice (either financially or work wise) then I would go on the original cruise and book another with my friend. If I could only go on one cruise then I would wait and go with my friend.

Very different ships. We sailed on the Millennium to Alaska in 2018 and it, IMHO, was in need of a complete refurbishment which I believe has happened. Assuming she has been revolutionized we would consider sailing again on the Millennium for a specific itinerary but with similar itineraries we would choose Edge.

Four sea days in a row would not be my choice but others would love this. I would also take into consideration the weather in the Baltic’s in May will be quite cool (we had cool weather on this cruise even in July) while you would have warmer weather in Spain and headed toward Bermuda even in October.

I am curious to hear from anyone who may be doing any of the AmaDahlia’s first cruises in Egypt which should be beginning next week. Since AmaDahlia is a “new” ship to AMA as is the Nile cruise we are eager to hear any feedback! We are booked for late October and hope these cruises will not be cancelled. Our flights are booked (Qatar) but fully refundable but hope it doesn’t come to that.

I hate to say it because I am a fan of the Celebrity Suites especially on M class ships but I would have to choose Azamara between these two. (My personal preference would be a Med cruise on Celebrity Edge or Apex in an upper level suite though.).

Yes. There is probably some protocol to follow with Celebrity but especially on this itinerary I don’t think it’s unusual to do this. We are doing a round trip Tokyo cruise next April (hopefully!) and plan to do the same thing as we are spending a few days in Tokyo prior to the cruise.

Judy, what are your dates. We arrive in Amman late evening Sun. Oct. 24th and have booked an extra night at the St. Regis. We have a full day to ourselves before the first tour on Tuesday, the 26th. I am eagerly awaiting the first sailing of the AmaDahlia on Sept. 3rd (I think that’s the first sailing?). Hopefully our trip (and yours) will not get cancelled!

We are also doing the Jordan pre-cruise tour prior to our AMA Egypt tour/cruise. Our TA double checked on this for us and confirmed that AMA is providing any necessary testing in Jordan as well as the necessary testing to enter the US at the end of the trip.

Following along and enjoying your trip!

We sailed on the Millennium (same class ship as the Summit). Our friends had the SS you are currently booked in (connected to the Penthouse) with the great bath but single door to the balcony and we were in a Celebrity Suite. No contest, we all hands down preferred the Celebrity Suite which is a wonderful space on the M class ship. While our friends SS bath was wonderful and much better than our CS the darkness of their cabin was a complete turnoff from the moment we entered. Our suite was booked with the intent that we would all gather there so it wasn’t a huge deal for our friends but otherwise would have been. We would all prefer a standard SS over the one with a single door even though it has a great bath.

These are the same magnets we use along with Master Magnetics Round Base Magnet (16 lbs) also from Amazon.

Edge! Especially if you’ve never been to Rome. We also loved Barcelona! Having said that we loved our Greek Island cruise too.

Maureen, I can definitely understand your frustration! My husband is fitter than the vast majority of 35 year olds and would be incensed if he found this out once onboard. I do think it is the suppliers rule, however, since only Celebrity tours are permitted at many ports they should make people aware that many tours have an age limit of 65. We were planning to book a Caribbean cruise for November/December but now that we know this we will probably go to Turks and Caicos (which we love!) instead.

Our Alaskan cruise aboard the Millennium was the most casual cruise we have been on! Definitely jeans, comfy pants, leggings during the day on the ship. It was never warm enough (at least for us) to sit by the pool and actually was very chilly some days. Instead of towels in the solarium and in some towel holders by the pool, they had blankets which we welcome. Great cruise!

From our experience on the Edge, I do believe the tub would be a bit much for your mother but the shower would not be a problem. It is separate. I also think you could ask for a shower chair/bench be brought in if needed.

Coincidentally I received an email a short time ago from AMA. The timeline given mentions downloading electronic cruise documents 30 days prior. Patience, Martha, patience!
