Do you know what Cunard’s intention was? No of course I don't. As a polo shirt is a collared shirt ( in my humble opinion) that is what I will sometimes wear until Cunard tell me otherwise. I will make my own interpretation of the dress code. As should other people and not bow down to the dress code police. I intend to go on my cruise and fully enjoy myself. I will adhere to the correct dress codes on the correct nights.

That is your opinion. They are a style of collared shirt. You don't know what Cunards intention was when they said "collared shirt".

Was not going to wear it on a formal night so it don't need to put a bow tie or any other tie with it. It has got a very small Grandad collar that is why I asked as it is still classed as a collar.

Sorry if this question has been asked before. On smart evenings is a shirt with a Grandad collar ok. I have saw on that looks smart and feels comfortable. Would just like to know before I waste my money.

Dress shirts are usually worn when playing snooker have seen chinos on a golf course, cricketers wear shirts does that make them sports wear ? Where do you draw the line ? When I go out I nearly always wear a polo shirt as they in my opinion look smart (a lot smarter than some peoples idea of a dress shirt )and can be worn with a jacket as well. I won't be wearing jeans or a tee shirt of an evening but I will look smart and will feel comfortable.

Why not ? My Polo shirts are smarter than a lot of people's so called smart shirts. I will be wearing my polo shirts on my cruise.

Also remember smart attire for men is a collared shirt which also includes a Polo shirt.

Will be joining the QM2 next year for our first Cunard cruise. Have been on other cruise lines. We are looking forward to our cruise but not sure about some of the clothes I have worn on other cruises. Would linen trousers withe a collared shirt/polo shirt be acceptable as smart wear. I have several pairs of trousers/chinos but also feel smart and comfortable in linnen trousers. Thanks in advance.
