  1. So regarding covid testing.  Which test do you do at CVS?   What do you need as proof?

My brother has to take medications with his lunch each day,  He was planning on just taking the one dose off the ship with him,  so he wasn’t planning on returning to the ship with him,  Does he need to bring a proof of script or anything with him off the ship?

For the steakhouse,  I made a reservation for two of our rooms, but the other people in our party are making their own reservations.  Would it be best to try to get them linked or just tell the hostess when we get there?   I’m not a 100% sure everyone has add their reservations.    Is art at the table worth it?    What is your favorite item from the steakhouse?

Do they still offer coffee cards?

First time going on the Dream,  any comments regarding the ship?

  2. We are booked in August for this ship 😄 out of Galveston!

How was the check in process?

Does the ship have a Sauna?

Do they still have the Chef Demo on the first Sea Day?

What is on your must pack list?

Any other tidbits about this ship would be appreciated 😉

Just had my stimulator implanted in January and my March cruise on the Dream was the first time going through security except at the court house were I know all the security  officers. I just told TSA agent at the cruise port I had an implanted device and they had me go to the handicap line and was patted down while they scanned my carry on, getting back on ship just told them and they had  me go around and patted me down. No problems at all.

We are going on the Dream in Galveston also, so good to know.   Out of curiosity, what excursions if any did you do.

  4. My brother had a back surgery that left him unable to feel his left leg, so he walks with a cane and wears a brace.  He takes multiple medications.   Does he need a letter from Dr or pharmacist?   Some of the meds are narcotics.    He also has a stimulator implanted but has a card for that.   I noticed on the excursions some say back problems may not sign up.   I know for a fact that he is able to do some of the ones listed.  He just has to take time to rest.   How should he fill out the form so he doesn’t get refused for the excursion?   He uses a collapsible cane to stabilize himself on uneven ground.  This is his first cruise and I don’t want him to feel isolated or singled out.

  5. A question for anyone traveling with medical implants.    My brother has a medical implanted stimulator for his back.  He has a card that shows that he has one when going through medal detectors and security at an airport.   Does he need anything else for carnival?   Does anyone have experience with these?

  6. We will be traveling to Belize in August.  We have done a Mayan ruins excursion through the ship and it was awesome, but this time  we are looking at snorkeling and I would rather not be crowded with a ship booked excursion.   I saw a 2 site snorkeling with Shoreexcursioneer and was wondering what everyone experience is with this company.   I see they offer a ship return guarantee, but how is their service, are they easy to book with,  do they communicate well?

  7. Is Royal taking new bookings for later in the year?   The hubby and I found another cruise that will work for us,   We already know we are cancelling May but not wanting to call in yet,  letting the people with March/April cruises set on hold first.    I called in but option for booking wasn’t an option?

  8. When we booked our May 1st cruise a year ago we got the standard Royal cruise insurance they offer.   So now we are going to cancel, not because of the virus but because we can’t afford to be quarantined.    How does it work with fcc and insurance?  I already know when we want to rebook!     Would we get all FCC or does it fall under cancel for any reason?   I have a preexisting condition so would be in the group that right now is not recommend to sail.    Can you rebook the next cruise at the same time or do I need to wait?

  9. So the hubby and I went on our first cruise years ago.   That cruise was paid for by my employer so we didn’t pick rooms.  The boss put everyone in balconies.  The second cruise we booked on our own and chose an ocean view.   We learned that we prefer the ocean view over a balcony.  We like any time dining.  Prefer dining room for dinner, but like the buffet for breakfast.       What has everyone else learned from their years of cruising?

We like to get a Christmas ornament from the ship.  Also from the various islands or places we visit.

I do the same thing.  Those ornaments are the last to go on the tree and the hubby and I reminisce about our favorite activities or restaurants from those places.

  11. Is the coffee card worth it or better to pay as you go.    The hubby drinks espresso every morning and sometimes one in the afternoon.  I drink mochas or lattes.  So for a 10 day cruise tops we would drink 10.  My question is how much do the drinks cost?

Royal offers morning and evening room cleaning/servicing.

If you don't want service, just tell your room steward, or leave the Do Not Disturb sign on the door.

I often don't go to bed until 4am or later, and then sleep until noon with my Do Not Disturb magnet on the door, so I explain to my room steward on the first day to just leave me extra towels in the bathroom every day in case they can't access the room for servicing on a particular day.

(I also explain that their gratuities will not be affected, nor will they be reported to their supervisor for not servicing the room twice a day -- it's at my request and for my convenience/benefit and will not have a negative effect on them in any form.)

Towel animals are generally only provided on Formal Nights (or if you have small children, more often) -- but if it's a big deal for you, just mention it to your room steward.

We are the same way, we stay up late and sleep in... we will make sure to tell them that gratuities will not be effected.

You got hosed on Carnival. They still provide twice a day service but are supposed to offer you once or twice a day service. For your convenience of course.

The steward on carnival asked if we wanted twice a day and we told him no, evening  only.

  14. My hubby and I cruise for 2 reasons relaxation and the food, our budget allows us to only book one dining upgrade a cruise.  We did the chef table on carnival and loved it!  However this time we are celebrating our anniversary so  deciding on doing the chef table on enchantment or booking chops?    Also saw something about dining discounts!   For those of you who have done both which would you recommend?
