  1. We are also on your cruise.. booked this one when we were on Allure in November. LOVE the way the ship areas are layed out so it does not feel congested.

Do not need to go to windjammer on embarkation day as there are other dining options open when you board. Do not know what time you are boarding as you can not get into your room until 1. Just pre book your entertainment options which you can choose to alter once on board. They also normally add shows for children at both the aqua and ice shows that do NOT require reservations..

  2. If shopping, being a USVI, St Thomas charges on the credit cards do not add any fees. Because st kitts is not and uses different money, the credit card charged us a conversion fee for all our purchases there. so at least check with your credit card to see if they will do the same. we initially thought the prices we negotiated for both jewelry and alcohol in st Kitts seemed better than St Thomas, when we got our charges processed on the credit card, it was more expensive. Not all credit cards may be the same, but thought I would pass on our experience just for information.

  3. 12330 looks like an aqua suite and I can not imagine that is still not there. the only thing we found on the boards from those who had those suites is the loud noise from the shows and outdoor movies. ( we were offered an upgrade w/charge to one and did research before saying no) do not know if that will effect you

  4. This should be a safe place to vent with others without judgement if your issues are reasonable. While I understand many do not care where the ships go, they just enjoy cruising and the ships - some are ok where ever the ports of call take them - BUT I also understand for others if you purchased a product that is drastically changed and if that product is unacceptable u would like the option of canceling without penalty. a refund is the customer service way to go since many do not want to tie up their money in a cruise credit and may even book with another line .. but looking at it another way, at least a full future cruise credit gives you an option to rebook a future cruise when ports are reworked and an eastern itinerary is set. For those who do not empathize with you , think that you paid for and ordered a steak/prime rib etc, but when it came it was a hamburger. Yes it is food and beef but not at all what you ordered. We are all different with different likes and preferences.. that is why there are so many different ships and POC so we can all be accommodated. I think the point is, even after a disaster like this, we ( or our money) should not be held hostage when it is more than a minor change in plans. We have been cruising since 1990 and have seen such a change in the industry. With so many cabins to fill it is more procedures for the masses than customized customer service.

  5. This was quoted in CBS story from a FLL employee

Another concern the airport is facing is the four cruise ships docking at Port Everglades on Tuesday.

“We are in communications with Port Everglades, not directly with the cruise ships. But they all know our concerns and our challenges,” Meyer said. “We want to make sure that what they don’t do is come to port and then unload all those passengers, bring them to the airport when we don’t have the aircraft to take them home.”

Both Miami and FLL websites are still not giving any all clear to open at any specific time. Our airline rep said they are not rebooking anything for Tues at this time. we are not worrying about getting there this week for any mini cruise as they need to focus on getting people off and HOME before they bring more of us into ground zero adding to the congestion and confusion.

Been following your posts as you sound like a reliable barometer . We are also booked on Harmony and we all would have been in MUSTER drill at this time... I will be checking on your posts regarding the storms progression in FL and praying for everyone.. we too IF conditions allow we be coming in for TUESDAY.. but we do understand if infrastructure damages etc do now allow then we will be rebooking. We shared your thoughts on the experience with an emptier ship and basically sailing for free.

  7. We have sailed Anthem twice since the NJ port is so close to home. you do not have to enter the congested traffic of NY and the parking garage is beside the terminal. As with any sailing the congestion depends on the passengers interest on that sailing. But knowledge of the ship can help you bypass areas if necessary. For example on embarkation day the second time, we just pulled our luggage to the back of deck 5 to the 270 Cafe.. no need to get an elevator to the Windjammer or deal with trying to get a table schlepping luggage. Did the same thing on disembarkation day having breakfast there so we only had to pull if off when called.. any specific questions or tips feel free to contact us.

  8. Again, I am not trying to cause a revolt... just shared what info we were told. If this is actually true, would not the boards light up with others who were cancelled? as diamond members we wanted to understand why we lost our request. so when I saw a few others received the same email, thought I would share and see if this is a common thing or if only a few of us are being inconvenienced. Time will tell what is really happening.. but as we all know, things have been changing without notice and these boards are our best forum for sharing what others are experiencing.

we have sailed other lines and used anytime dining without issues, but our last 2 cruises on Anthem DD was a nightmare and abruptly cancelled

  9. with so many cruisers already booked with so many different preferences, I imagine any change will cause disruption. So until RCI publishes a universal statement that they are eliminating MTD altogether and are going back to MDR assigned times, we are all going with what we were told. So not sure my information is accurate, but I wanted to give a heads up that it is a possibility. we are only a table for 2, so special accommodations were not a driving force for any change.

  10. For the cruisers who are boarding in the next few months. we received cancellation notices for MTD on our Sept 7 cruise. when we called our RCI agent who booked us on the last 3 cruises, she informed us they are going back to first and second seatings and booked us for first seating. Not positive of the last date of MTD, but she inferred it would be soon.. has anyone else received such an email? I checked on the main RCI site and someone else has indeed made comment they received same email.
