We had originally booked this cruise for our 25th Anniversary but then changed to the Symphony going to the caribbean for a couple of reasons - I don't like cold weather and looked like we were going to start in cooler weather, and we live in NH so it was going to be a long journey to and from as well as a lot of days. We actually wanted to be on the ship during our Anniversary which is Oct 1 so the Symphony seems like a better fit. We leave next thurs to go to Miami for a couple days then the cruise leaves on Sat. I'm interested to see the pictures from your cruise!

I just drink either a bloody mary during the day (although i'm sure there is sugar in the mix) so I limit these - then for happy hour and at night I have a slightly dirty martini, or with a lemon twist. I always ask for Tito's vodka.

We are sailing on Symphony in September and one of our stops is Roatan, Honduras. We have never been there and we were wondering if anybody has done excursions and what if any you would recommend?
Us too! We are celebrating our 25th Anniversary. We spent this morning watching a bunch of you tube videos on the various beaches and excursions. We wanted to book something through the ship as we have never been there and wanted to be safe. We chose the Mayan Princess Resort - all inclusive. The beach, water and pool all look amazing. Are you on the cruise that departs Sept 28th?

I just purchased the Key. We are sailing on Symphony at the end of September for our 25th wedding anniversary. We like to celebrate big so pulling out all the stops on this trip. We normally wouldn't get something like this but after watching some you tube videos on it what really appealed to me was the early embarkation, the lunch at a specialty restaurant that first day, the special seating for shows, and the last day breakfast and escort off the ship.

Thank you very much!
Hope we will love Freedom after our allure cruise :)
We sailed on Oasis twice then went on a Freedom cruise - you will still love it. We needed to cut down the cost and was worried about the same thing but we had just as much fun.

We were on Freedom last February and will be again on Feb 25th this year! This is an awesome ship, especially for families. There is so much to do, I personally love the MDR and the food and service is excellent! We are looking forward to being on this ship again in a few weeks!

My favorites are Marc Walker, Drew Devine. My least favorite Ricky Matthews, Michele Scarpato.

Ricky Matthews was one of my least favorites. His Love & Marriage was embarrassing, in that he didn't conduct it the same way as other CDs, where the panelists are brought off-stage. He had them face back to back and made the entire show about himself, rather than the guests. I've never seen such a steady stream of people leaving a RCL show (except for the second half of CATS).
I agree 100% with this post!

To few waiters, ended up getting up for our drinks, drinks being bad, food was bad so we left to go back to the ship to eat. Our waiter took care of the party of eight women next to us. In search of another place.

We always go to Mr. Sanchos in Cozumel. Food is absolutely amazing and they fall all over themselves to wait on you. Always so much fun!

No, you cannot use the beverage package on Amiga island. There is a cash bar for some rum drinks. Very limited but awesome service! The waiters walk right out into the water to take your empties and bring you drinks. :)

Love this! What happened with the girl from NJ? Did you marry her?

Drew is from Canada and he is a most excellent Cruise Director!

I just got off the Freedom and noticed safety crew at the Solarium pool. Was very happy to see this as this crew member was having to tell kids/parents that it was an adults only area. We were on this cruise without kids and really appreciated the adult only area. I don't know why some parents think the rules don't apply to their kids.

If you can find a Stingray City tour - it is well worth it. Absolutely amazing!!!!

We are going on the Freedom next week - will let you know what we find. We have had Enzo as an Activity Manager on Enchantment a few years back. He was ok.

One way to tell these two ships apart is their color - Oasis is light blue on the lower part and Allure is white. That being said - it is very hard to tell what the color is on the OP picture but my guess would be light blue. Therefore, I think it is the Oasis.
-
The mixes they use are mediocre - we found the key is to find an excellent bar tender to make your drinks special. We found Sheldon Mills on the Oasis to be a most excellent bar tender. He is very nice and wants to please the customer. He will go above and beyond, just tell him what you like. He put lots of extra spice in our Bloody Marys and he made a special Margarita with agave and fresh lime juice. We don't like generic drinks with a ton of sugar. He was in a few different bars each time we were on the ship so you have to look around for him. Tell him Giselle and Steve from NH sent you!

We were just there at the end of September. The sand is very soft and sloped getting in/out of the water. I would recommend water shoes for a better grip. We ended up with toe blisters from our toes being dug into the sand. That aside, it was absoutely amazing and beautiful! We loved it, spent the entire time in the water. The waiters will bring drinks out to you in the water and take your empties. Great time - would do it again.

We have been with Drew on two cruises. He is amazing! Very friendly, energetic, fun! Don't miss "The Morning Show" on your cabin TV. It is very funny. You can write in to him everyday.

Just as an FYI, last Feb on the Oasis I left my checked out towel on my chair for no less than a 1/2 hr while I was in the hot tub and it was missing when I returned. I just let the towel attendant know and he scanned it off my seapass card. :)

You would be better off in a cabin on the 10th deck - the cabins on the 6th deck have the lifeboats immediately under them - not an ideal view
-
We booked a guarantee for a September cruise on the Oasis and we were assigned a cabin on deck 6 aft right above the life boats. It didn't look like a good cabin - the ocean was obstructed by the life boats. When I called to request to be put back into the pool for a guarantee they said they cannot do that. We had to take the 6th floor or we can upgrade for a fee. My sister booked a guarantee and got the 10th floor first time cruisers. I ended up using reward points to book an upgrade on the 10th floor forward. I won't book a guarantee again - don't want to get stuck in a cabin no one else wants.

The Oasis activities manager is Hugo Arenas, not Hugo Arias. Hugo is fantastic!

Does anyone know who the Oasis cruise director will be in September of 2016?

Marc Walker is excellent! Hoping he will still be on Allure in February!
