  1. Never thought of that 🤔 Excellent idea. Thanks!
  2. DW and I are on the Allure for the Feb 12 sailing. When the ship returns to Galveston on the 19th, we disembark and head down the way and board the Ruby Princess for another 7 day cruise. Which means (right now) we need to have a COVID test done while on the Allure. Currently plan is to take a couple (maybe 3 in case of problems) Binax now proctored tests. We are buying the VOOM internet package, and plan on doing our tests using the computers in the internet cafe. Does anyone know if the internet is fast enough on the Allure to be able to do the online testing?
  3. Well, as much as I wanted to have the pleasure of opening the box and revealing our medallions at home, I think discretion indicates that I must bow to caution and have them delivered to the port 😞. Now, I guess I'll need to figure out how to get a COVID test done while on the Allure.... Thanks to all for the input....
  4. We are booked on the Ruby Princess out of Galveston for their Feb 19 2023 sailng. According to the Medallion app, I can order our medallions 12 days prior, which would be Feb 7. But, we are doing a "side by side" - we have to leave on Feb 10 to drive to Galveston to catch the Allure OTS on Feb 12. Which means we would need to get the medallions by Feb 9. Will the medallions get here by the 9th? Any opinions/experiences would be appreciated...
  5. Tru dat. Will probably wait until January to see what the requirements are. The Optum option will probably be our best choice...
  6. Side by side, back to back, the terminology doesn't bother me. But thanks for your input 🙂
  7. Side to Side, eh? Didn't know that....
  8. We are scheduled for the Feb 12 2023 sailing of the Allure out of Galveston. We decide to do our first B2B, and have just booked the Ruby Princess for their Feb 19 sailing. I was wondering if we would be able to get a COVID test on the Allure for our Ruby cruise? Or should we buy a couple of the proctored test kits and do it ourselves? Not sure if one cruise line would be helping out guests going to another cruise line's ship or not....
  9. We've just done something we've never done before - we've booked a back-to-back 🙂 After the Allure docksin Galveston on Feb 19 ,we are heading down the street to board the Ruby Princess for another week. I was wondering if Princess does anything for people doing a B2B, such as allow early boarding, allowing us in the terminal while we wait to board, etc?
  10. We're possibly booking a Princess cruise for 2023. Has Princess done away with traditional set time dining, and gone to Dine My Way on all their ships?
  11. Non-refundable. Understand I will lose the deposit. February 24 this year Feb 12 2023 Nov 4 2022 Still have $100 to pay
  12. We may have to cancel our upcoming Allure cruise. If I do cancel, will I get the refund as a deposit to my credit card, or as a FCC? Just curious....
  13. Thanks for all the responses. Just watched a YouTube video on the medallion. Nice little piece of technology there. I like how you can order food on it and have it delivered. The lazy person in me approves 🙂
  14. We are looking into a Princess cruise for next year, our first ever on Princess. We were looking on Amazon for medallion accessories. About 90% of what shows up are actually for Apple AirTags. Are those compatible with the Princess medallions? Any suggestions on the best way to carry the medallion? Wrist holder? Lanyard? Pocket clip?
  15. I never noticed it was that long . Thanks for the tip 👍
  16. Those are the ones I was looking at. Just wondering how much they change every night...
  17. Had a few questions concerning the menus for the 4 MDRs on the Apex. There are 3 sections on the menu in each of them - Classic, Celebrity Signatures, and selections exclusive to each restaurant. 1. The menu that I see shows 3 appetizers and 3 entrees for the exclusive selections in each restaurant. Do these change every night, or are there only those selections for each night? 2. The same for the Celebrity Exclusives - the menu shows 5 appetizers, 5 entrees. Does this change during the cruise? 3. If I'm eating in the Cosmopolitan, can I have something from the Cyprus? That Hot Melted Cheese Saganki looks good 🙂 TIA for any answers...
  18. We are lucky enough to be able to afford this Celebrity cruise for our 50th wedding anniversary. Would have to mortgage the house to afford the cruise lines you listed 😉
  19. Sorry, guess I must have missed the word "hatred" in their post. My bad...
  20. Could Celebrity be far behind? https://www.pcmag.com/news/spacex-working-to-bring-starlink-to-royal-caribbean-cruise-ships?amp=true
  21. Well, if nothing else, I hear the buffet food is pretty good on Celebrity 😉
  22. This could prove interesting https://www.pcmag.com/news/spacex-working-to-bring-starlink-to-royal-caribbean-cruise-ships?amp=true
  23. I guess my wife and I don't fit the traditional cruise style since meeting new people isn't our top priority. We sail to relax and reconnect with each other. We like to go about the ship during the day, doing different activities. In the evening, we like to get a table for two in the MDR and talk about our day's adventures and what's on tap for tomorrow. Looking at deck plans for the Apex, I noticed there are numerous two tops, but alot of them seem to be about a foot part. Are the maitre 'ds in the MDRs flexible on seating requests? Is there a way to contact them ahead of the cruise with seating requests? Just curious....
  24. That's good to know, especially the last part. We will probably request the Cosmopolitan MDR, but the Melted Cheese Saganaki on the Cyprus menu looks good....
