Cool Cruiser (2/20)

  1. The name on the room/cabin has to match the name on the credit card. If you are all sharing a cabin, then your card should be fine. If your kids have a cabin in one of their names, I will say probably not. When my husband and I cruise, I put my credit card on file, and we have never had a problem. I used the same card for my mom, in a cabin with my MIL, and it was a problem. I put my card on my mom's account in her room, along with a couple of gift cards. On the last day, she purchased a few photos to finish using up the credit she still had from the gift cards, but in doing so, put her about $20 in the negative. Since it was the last day, the guest service desk was crazy. I went to the kiosk and tried to pay what she owed so we could leave but it would not accept it. They had phones around the kiosk area that would connect to Carnival's customer service. I called and that is when I found out the name on the card had to match the name on the room. I ended up buying a gift card and applying it towards her balance. When I set up her account online before the cruise, when I put in my credit card information that included my name, the website accepted it so I had no way of knowing it wouldn't work until it would not work.
  2. I am not understanding your questions. Change what, exactly?
  3. Yeah, I was shocked. Especially since I BOUGHT her cruise cash using the same credit card...
  4. I first want to say that I do not have a direct answer to your question, but I am looking into the same type of activities in some of the ports. I wanted to pass on a website that I use anytime I travel someplace new, www.AllTrails.com. You can type in the name of the city you are going to, and it will list the best hikes in the area, even breaks them down by difficulty level and length of the hike. You may have to do a little research to see how far each of these would be from your cruise port, but at least it gives you a place to start. I will try to post a link, but I am not sure if it will let me: AllTrails: Trail Guides & Maps for Hiking, Camping, and Running | AllTrails
  5. Thank you for sharing! We have decided to do it and reading this makes me more excited. I am of the opinion that people can ruin most anything... 🙂 but we will try to tune everything out and just enjoy. Thanks again.
  6. There is no way I would pay $459.95 for this. The one I am talking about doesn't depart from one of our stops (like yours is showing Juneau), we anchor at the Fjord, then a smaller boat picks us up from our ship and takes us close to the glaciers (smaller vessel so they can navigate much closer). I think they still refer to Tracy Arm Fjord as one of our ports, but this is the only excursion that is offered for this stop.
  7. Yes, yours sounds like the exact same thing. My trip is not until May of 2025, so I know I have a good bit of time, but I am trying to research every option that is out there and get some opinions from others on things that I am on the fence about. I don't want to wait too long though and see "sold out" when I try to book. Thank you and I hope you have a great cruise when you go.
  8. Thank you for this information. I can't wait to check out his website. Thank you again.
  9. 😳😳😳 oh my goodness!!!! Thank you for posting those. Completely off topic but, what kind of camera did you use for these? They are breathtaking!!!
  10. Thank you!! The reviews were all good on the website, but they were very generic. The detail in your reply is what I was wanting to hear. We don't sail until May of 2025, but I am going to go ahead and purchase it. Thank you again.
  11. Does anyone have any feedback on this excursion? It is where the smaller, yet still large boat, picks you up and takes you closer to the glaciers. According to the description, "Your captain will make many stops, allowing you incredible opportunities to view and photograph icebergs, cliffs, and wildlife!". It all sounds amazing, but the cost for me and hubby would be $500.00. I don't mind the money if it is as good as the description makes it out to be. Thanks!
  12. I’m so sorry, but I don’t know. There were a lot of cabs and vans outside of the port but since we had an excursion booked, we didn’t even check into them at all.
  13. If I locate their card, I’ll be sure to post it here.
  14. Yes!!!!! It was so crowded trying to collect luggage, you could barely turn around.
