  1. Does your comment answer the question I asked? Was it helpful in any way? Does it at all contribute to the partially humorous aspect of the original post? "No" to all counts.

Have a think about your comments and how they contribute to making Cruise Critic an unfriendly community.

Well said....it's really sad when someone acts like the group know it all and posts over 30 posts per day and just sits waiting to pounce.

Folks like that make this group a lot less fun than it used to be.

  2. our last few sails they have called ahead before arriving.

i agree the card is easier....but yeah, it does mean you have to get up when you might not be ready to.

I seem to remember getting a call when they were on their way on cruises prior to our last one. I assumed they discontinued the practice. It sure is helpful getting advance warning.

  3. Much easier to use the door hanger and pre-order your coffee. Pick a time slot (7.00-7.30, 7.30-8.00 etc.). I found that it usually arrives close to the earlier time. Coffee pots are small, basically hold two cups each, so order more than one if necessary.

I always tip $2-3 for room service, but that's a personal choice.

Good point about it usually arriving at the earlier time. This has been our experience as well.

Remember to set your alarm so you are awake when they arrive. We forgot once on our last cruise and the knock on the door was our alarm.

  4. Are they easy to get on board with NCL?

I'M ASKING FOR SOMEONE, I have the UBP! Don't skool me, or feel free to and I'll pass it on to him!

I haven't had the need to used them since UBP was added as a perk but never had a problem. Like the other poster mentioned put them in a shoe. But also make sure there is nothing else in the suitcase to make NCL open it (e.g., clothes hangers, hair dryers, curling irons, etc..)

    Cheers!
