  1. A lot of them went to the Dominican Republic as well. And there the dirt and the climate are about exactly the same being that they are neighbors so I'll take a good cigar from the before I put any money in the Castro regime pockets.

I won't put anything in the Castros pockets either. I would love to go to Cuba but I won't go until a new regime. I have friends that escaped on rafts from there and seeing hidden camera documentaries have confirmed their stores for me. While they are free to have whatever political system they want I won't participate.

  2. Many people feel that cigars from Honduras or Nicaragua are better than Cubans today.

If I recall correctly during the revolution in Cuba many seeds were taken to Nicaragua and Honduras.

Back when I enjoyed cigars I bought ones that said Cuban tobacco but rolled in Honduras and such.

  3. Don't drink the fountain water or the ocean water and you'll be fine. The restaurants use filtered and or bottled water. There is to much tourist money for them to loose by customers getting sick.

  4. In October my family and I got off and drove 16 hrs straight home. We got off Saturday morning And was fine for the most part. We got home 2am on Sunday and I went to bed for good and woke up dizzy and sick. Even on Monday I was still uneasy. I have never had this happen even while being on my boat in the Bahamas for a week.

  5. However, I'm not wrong. I said while traveling, you can be stopped by any number of checkpoints that will prohibit it, regardless if it is right or wrong. My statement is that in this day of age, you should be aware that what you have may stop you with the TSA, Homeland security, international ports, airports, land crossing, or any other place.

You don't carry guns, anything that looks like a gun, or anything that looks like a weapon of any kind. That includes key chains. I had a relative that lost a $5.00 key chain with TSA because it was a gun hanging on a key chain. We laugh about it, but this is the society we live in, and the traveling public needs to follow the absurd rules about it.

Going along with absurd rules is destroying our society.

  6. Being proudly from Canada, the only time I have seen a real gun is on a police officer. Perhaps I am just very naive, but if I saw that tiny key shaped like a gun, I might not know it wasn't real. I would have been alarmed. The Carnival site states no replica guns allowed. That would, in my mind, include a key that is shaped like a gun. I am not ashamed for my thoughts.

  7. The instructions say you don't have to print them in color, but that must make a difference...

I've printed mine in B&W and they caught it when the porter was taking them from our hands. We also confirmed with him but he had already started putting the orange tag on. We then later saw them in the red luggage containers from our balcony.

  8. You can run on the upper dedicated track on deck 12 (SPA) or down around deck 5 (Promenade). Upper deck was 9 laps/mile. I believe a loop around the Promenade is about 1/3 mile.

Expect big wind on the upper deck. I run in Hokas and the upper deck nearly destroyed my ankles and knees... much worse than concrete. Expect big wind, lots of people, and traffic jams on the Promenade.

I hate treadmills as well, but they may be the best option for you if you are dedicated to training on your trip.

How do you like your Hokas? I have been thinking about trying a pair.

  9. Sorry. I'm old school. What do you think businessmen used to do on vacation before cell phones? My hubby leaves his phone home, and we totally unplug. That is what a vacation is for.

Thankfully, I can handle most things while on vacation with just an email and I only check it twice a day on vacation. I have gotten better at being with my family than just being there.

I had a great conversation with a retired CEO who would go on cruises and safaris. We talked about unplugging and he said even though it was hard to get in touch with him they always found a way.

  10. I to have a business ... I have people I leave in charge .. They handle everything , I'm on vacation .. Phone locked is safe for the week

For the most part I am able to leave it with my assistants, but it never fails I will have a client or two that will only talk to me. Most people are happy with just an email answer, thankfully.
