  1. Somebeech - Would you recommend Smith Cove for a nice beach day as well? (Over other parts of 7 mile beach) We will be traveling with a toddler so the most important thing for her is shade and sand. An added bonus would be snorkeling for DH. Cemetery Beach has that but too remote with a toddler with no facilities and definitely no beach at Eden Rock.

From video I have seen it is a smaller beach with no facilities.

  2. Got it. I thought there was something I was missing. Just makes it more confusing! Now I'm thinking Mr. Sancho! Appreciate it.

We are doing Mr. Sancho in October. I have two little kids so as much as Carlos and Charlies looks like fun it is no place for them.

  3. I've just read that NOAA is forecasting the strongest hurricane season since 2012.

I'm heading north in October. Fingers crossed. ;)

From what Ive been reading NOAA hasn't been accurate since the 2012 season. This years seasonal predictions have already been changed and it has been very quite out there.

  4. We love Rum Point. We've been to GC several times and with kiddos that young, we'd rent a car and drive to Rum Point. It's a secluded, calm beach with snorkeling, food, drinks, shade and water toy rentals.

The Turtle Farm would be another good choice as would anything close by on Seven Mile beach. We just love Rum Point the best. [emoji4]

We've used Nativeway too, had a blast. Did the snorkel, stingray and beach (Rum Point) tour. They cut it a little close getting back to the pier, but they rushed back and we got onboard in time. I'd book with them again. 7 and 4 would be fine ages to go, if the water is choppy, you don't HAVE to leave the boat. If they don't swim, Nativeway has life jackets.

How far is Rum Point from the Turtle Farm? Where did you rent your car from? I am wanting to do a jeep because of the size and it appears all the big rental companies have are small cars.

  5. We always book what we call a hurricane cruise, book a 7 day and hope for 8. Don't worry about the motion sickness. These are very large ships and the motion is very slight. If you do feel queasy use Bonnine its one of the best OTC meds. Enjoy your cruise and don't let the small stuff bother you.

I have had a few that were moving pretty good in a storm. It was nothing the size of a hurricane but we were getting the up and down motion as we climbed the wave.

  6. That just doesn't sound right to me. Where are you picking up the car? What car rental company? How many days?

I am picking mine up in Indianapolis. I am a member of Emerald Club with National. I believe we are getting it for 8 days. From what I was told the reason is they will have to either pay someone to drive it back or put it on a truck and haul it back eventually if it doesn't make it back to the same area within a set time.

  7. Oh no. It seems that a lot goes into making this burger!!! I would assume there are different options for getting a burger on the ship besides Guy's

Thankfully she is a healthy eater but she sometimes likes a hamburger. When we sail on a cruise line we typically only go on the smaller ships. This October will be our first cruise in a few years as we typically would just take our boat and motor around.

  8. I was in Progresso and it was a place full of nice people. Half the city looked it had been bombed though. I did buy a bunch of DVD's for $5 on the beach. They were unreleased in the US and the only Spanish part was the main menu. Don't buy the Rolex watches as there is a fake factory not to far from Progresso that makes them and Coach bags.

  9. I think it would be awesome to be able to get the room service items when you're sitting in the sports bar or anywhere decks 3-5 where there is not a lot of food (at a bar though - not someone coming to a random couch or lounge chair or anything). We go in January and want to watch the playoff games and it'd be great to be able to get a sandwich. It's not a huge deal to go get something from Lido, but when you don't want to miss the game, it'd be nice to have something come to you.

This is a legit question - NOT a complaint - what do you think would be the reasoning behind only delivering to rooms, not to a bar? Just curious. NOT saying they should, not saying I hate that they don't - just thinking. My guess would be not opening a can of worms - if you deliver to a bar, why not to a specific lounge chair or seat on promenade... etc, etc. Any other thoughts?

Because then they would have to deliver everywhere else.

It's a game if it's that important stay home or in your room.
