The fried lasagna is definitely on the list! Sounds amazing.

You may be looking at Giovanni's Wine Bar menu
Yes, I think so. Weird that is what would come up when selecting 'sample menu' from the dinner booking site on the cruise planner online but no matter. I appreciate all the help finding the full menu. I'm already drooling and my cruise is not for months. LOL!

The full menu is on the app under dining. Click on the dining tab under the ships main tab on the top of the app then go down and click dining and scroll down to Giovanni's Kitchen.
Thank you! Worked like a charm.

If you install the Royal app, you can see the full menu for your sailing. If you aren't booked yet, just pick one close to what you are looking for. You tap the "Person" icon and then "get more details on ships we support"
Thank you! I am booked so it was easy to find. Sounds completely awesome and I am much looking forward to it now.
For some reason, I thought it would be too soon to view the menu's on the app - must have been thinking of Princess.

I was wondering if anyone who had recently sailed on the Odyssey would be able to let me know what types of dishes were available in Giovanni's Kitchen? I downloaded the sample menu off of the Royal Caribbean website for the restaurant and it only shows appetizers and a few pizza's. That doesn't sound quite right. At least, I hope not. 🙂

Third, why are there so many posts reflecting frustration with using the medallion if it is such a great invention?
Honestly, I don't think that there are so many posts reflecting frustration with using the medallion unless they are blending it together with the app. Almost all the complaining I read about concerns the medallion app features and has nothing to do with using the medallion at all which is just a glorified version of the cruise card. Which I actually really LOVE, but I also love the Disney magic bands which are the same thing so I guess I was predisposed to happily have my little tracker open doors and pay for things without my having to do anything more than just stand there. LOL!

Hi, I am a little confused with the ArriveCan ruling as well. If our cruise terminates in Vancouver and we are staying extra days in Vancouver do we have to do complete ArriveCan docs or not?
Hi! Yes, if your cruise terminates in Vancouver you would need to complete the ArriveCan app within 72 hours of boarding the ship. This will satisfy the entry into Canada requirement. 🙂

Sounds right to me.
Then I still don't know what to put for the cruise. Oh, well. All of our traveller's information is already saved in the app so if worse comes to worst I’ll be that annoying person figuring it out at the port. 😆

You are not flying from ANC back to Canada?
A week later after a land tour, but I thought that I'd need to submit that trip separately as an entering Canada by air submission within 3 days of flying home. No?

We found that all the worry was unnecessary, afterwards. It was not really hard, you just had to get it done. All Princess wanted was your ArriveCan code. They provided it to the Canadians and that's the last we heard of it.
Hey at least you don't have to test to fly back to the US any more. We were on one of the last flights that had to do so.
As I've mentioned in another thread I usually have no problem filling out and submitting the ArriveCan. I'm Canadian and have done it quite a few times. But I absolutely cannot figure out what they want for my northbound cruise to Whittier when I am not going to be re-entering Canada at all after embarkation. Anyone know? I hate feeling this stupid. Sigh.

Four years ago Covid wasn't in the world! A lot has changed since then, particularly in the travel world. If you don't want to deal with 'unnecessary bureaucracy" then I suggest you stay home in London.
I think that's a little harsh. I'm Canadian and have used the ArriveCan app many times but I completely understand the frustration and confusion surrounding having to submit multiple trips like this. Heck, as familiar as I am with the app I am still stumped on how to complete the Northbound cruise to Alaska when there is no marine entry into Canada. I'm flying back from Alaska a week after our cruise and am fine with how to submit that trip three days before arrival home but honestly don't understand how to fill out the cruise departure trip.

Okay, maybe I’m worried over nothing. 🤷🏻♀️ Wouldn’t be the first time (and probably not the last).
Yeah, from what I can tell you're fine. The tracking information indicates that it left the UPS distribution centre in Spokane yesterday and is now currently on its way to you. 🙂

So I originally booked "same time every night" but it doesn't show up.
Tried again that way.
Doesn't show up.
If I make a reservation for each day it shows up.
So annoying as now there are no tables for 2 available as I originally booked.
Ugh.
Ugh. None of the nights have tables for 2 in any of the dining rooms? That seems really odd - could be a glitch, perhaps? As annoying as it sounds, might be worth a phone call.

So I booked 5:40 table for 2 on the app.
NOWHERE do I see this...
Can anyone tell me where to see this?
After you log in, hit the little fork and spoon icon near the top of the page. Then click on "view or book individual daily reservations". It should be there. Good luck. 🙂

Hi @Dar & Bob, please read my post carefully. Princess has only officially updated the sailings arriving to Juneau up to June 20th arrival. Your sailing in July has not be changed as of now. Please read the previous threads on the Crown and the , past ,present, future thread for more info.
Hi wallyj. I think the confusion is arising because you wrote Grand instead of Crown in your post when talking about the Crown's schedule. Are you able to edit it?

Got the same crazy email from Princess this morning. Fairbanks hotel with a Seattle, WA address. 🤣
Google maps shows a nice office building at that address. Zooming in on the entrance, I see "Holland America Line" over the door. So it's not a totally random address, but someone was definitely asleep when it was copy and pasted into our emails. 😂
Hee! Hopefully, they will scrounge up a place for us to stay before the trip. My roughing it days are far behind me. 🙂

We are actually at Westmore ? Or something like that in Fairbanks. We received an email detailing all of our hotels. Curious, are you starting land on June 6th.
We just received an email detailing all of our hotels but the Fairbanks nights simply say Fairbanks Accommodations and list a Seattle address. So we still don't know where we are staying. I suppose anywhere is fine (and the Westmark looks great) but in my head I guess I just feel that we paid for the ''Princess Lodges'' and that should be Riverside. LOL!

I'm not sure who to ask, but I was wondering if anyone with the land portion after the cruise has gotten the same notification? We cruise to Alaska from Vancouver on June 22 and have not received anything so I'm not sure if the new rules will also apply to post-cruise land tours?
Man, I was so sure that we had everything figured out already. Oh, well. I suppose if it's required they will take care of the testing between the cruise and land tour.

Couldn't get a screenshot, but here is the text from the notification:
Important Acknowledgements for Your Cruise Vacation
Before entering Cruise Personalizer, read and acknowledge these notifications
Updated Covid-19 Testing Requirements For Your Cruisetour
Please be advised that we have implemented a new requirement and cruisetour guests 2 years of age or older must now produce a negative COVID-19 test at the start of their pre-cruise land tour. The test must be medically observed and can be an antigen test taken within two days of the start of your tour or a PCR test taken within three days of the start of your tour. You will not be able to begin your cruisetour without proof of a negative COVID-19 test. At-home medically observed antigen tests such as https://*****/optumtest are allowed. All guests over 5 years of age must also be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and bring acceptable proof of COVID-19 vaccination to present at cruisetour check-in. Boosters are encouraged for eligible guests. You will also require a negative COVID-19 test to board the ship for the sea portion of your cruisetour, which we will provide at no cost to you. For health and safety guidelines for your voyage, visit https://*****/pc_usfaq.
Thanks for the information Hapster.

I agree with everyone else who has posted saying that is nonsense. That is one very confused agent.

No, I'm afraid not. It was Freedom of the Seas - cabin 1810, if that helps.

Let me start off with the most important point. I am not complaining. Often, when you see a post about an upgrade assignment, someone or other comes on to say that you knew what you were bidding on and shouldn't complain. All of that is true and this is not a complaint. Just kicking around the strategy involved in a RoyalUp bid.
We're doing longer cruises later this year, but at the last minute, GF wanted to do a quickie weekend cruise for a few days. We found an oceanview GUAR at a reasonable price and in 2 days got an assignment on the 2nd deck of a pretty standard oceanview room. I would have been satisfied with that room, although it was nothing special.
RoyalUp bids opened up a few days ago. I was mostly interested in a balcony cabin.
Looking at their inventory, I could see...
They had about 9 spacious veranda cabins.
1-2 connecting veranda cabins.
2 Spacious Panoramic View Oceanview cabins.
At first, I put bids on the veranda cabins.
Then, I put in a bid of $40 per person for the Spacious Panoramic Cabins, even though they weren't my first choice because:
1. Much more glass, ceiling to floor.
2. I think a better deck (deck 12 versus deck 2).
3. A bit bigger (I think 191 sq. ft. versus 160).
4. (Importantly) I think they're new and more updated, since they used to be a part of the gym on Deck 12. So they recently built these from scratch.
10 days out, they accepted my bid on the Spacious Panoramic Ocean View cabin (again, $40 per person).
I noticed that all of the veranda cabins are still available, so maybe they wait until the last moment on those? OV cabins now fully sold out, so they assigned all RoyalUp OV that were available.
I wonder if I would have been better off just bidding on a veranda? I'm just kicking things around. Not complaining at all, as I got what I bid on and it does seem like a nicer and more updated room with a lot more glass.I think that you're going to love the cabin. We stayed in one for the second week of a back-to-back (had a balcony for the first week) and the open feeling of the room and all the glass was amazing. I love my balconies but didn't miss it a bit during the week. 🙂

Covid testing Fairbanks
in Alaska
Posted
We did a cruise first land tour covering dates in late June/early July and there was no testing required before the land portion.
