  1. No drink menus at all on Liberty on 1/31 either. Bartenders just said they didn't have them anymore with no further explanation. We had the drink package but I could definitely see how someone without a package would get a big surprise with the tab.

But I can see how removing them could benefit RC. It could encourage more drink package purchases and limit some people from ordering speciality/frozen drinks which I'm sure the bartenders get tired of making. Much easier and faster to mix a vodka club rather than a frozen drink with 3 liquors, 2 juices and fruit garnishes. And would make the line move quicker with no one holding up the line while they mull over the choices.

Not meaning to sound rude but it is there job to make the drinks. Whether it is frozen or normal. If they fed up of making the harder drinks, then maybe not best job for them. So if the cruise line want to sell the frozen stuff there should be a menu etc.

I just feel annoyed as it works in favor of the cruise line not having prices. Feels a bit sneeky if people paying for drinks and not fully aware of price.

  2. The couple left the room. What part of that don't YOU understand. The attendants have a lot of rooms to take care of. When an opportunity comes they'll take it & get the room cleaned. They should have told him not to do up the room while they were away.

I have yet to go on a cruise but have stayed in many, many hotels.

As far as I am concerned a Do Not Disturb Sign is for the room and not just about occupants. What I mean is that if the sign is up you keep out regardless if the people in it have gone out.

It is not up to a guest to tell someone not to go in, even if the steward was outside and said hello. The sign says it all!! If the guest returns later and wants there room done, then its there own fault if it is not poss.

The steward was 100% wrong to go in and as far as I am concerned, no if's or buts.

That said it is only my opinion :)

  3. I have read the whole thread. One thing I hate about cruise critic is how people jump on people when they say something they don't quite agree with.

It seems if something is happening to someone else it is no big deal. Should Celeb compensate? Probably not. Yet it would it be nice customer service as a gesture of good will if something small could have been offered? Sure things go wrong and not always cruise line fault.

Yet OP was obviously upset as she missed out on seeing family and shows etc etc. Shame people always jump on people on this site.

  4. I think it is great that you managed to experience all sorts of cruises. At the end of the day, different things appeal to different people.

I am just starting off in the cruise world which will be exciting. Yet after reading the boards so much has been changing. Poor service less facilities, less quality food. A lot of unhappy people.

That said I am looking forward to just trying it.

Next year I will go on Atlantis which will be a lot of fun. After that I will probably try a normal cruise.

Hope you enjoy your small river boat cruise when you go on it Tom.

  5. I understand your point, but to make an outrageous claim that Chops steak is the best on the planet is such an obvious gross exaggeration it is an insult to his customer's intelligence. That would be an outrageous claim even before they changed the menu.

Will let you know when I finally get to try it lol.

  6. I had to laugh as I have been reading the boards a lot lately.

One thing that has been coming up is the poor quality of steak in Chops.

I just saw on the live feed with new President of RCC Michael say, that he is a die hard Chops Fan. Then he said. Best steak on the planet.

Will have to try chops now for sure hehe.

  7. Its the typical "it doesnt affect me so I could not care less" attitude that abounds on this board. Right, wrong or indifferent, this place is full of it.

There are lots of things I do not and can not use. I dont want to see a charge for them though. With that attitude, I guess I could say I could not care less if they charge 50.00 for 1 minute on the Flowrider. I cant use it so I dont care :D

Would people not care if they started charging us 20.00 per person per day for tips when service is not getting better? The daily gratuities certainly affect everyone except those that totally remove them.

    Just a thought.

Exactly this.. Of course there are things that I would not choose to do etc, but that does not mean I want others to have to pay more. But that is just my way of looking at it.

Special Dining. I may not use it but I do not think it should be increased as a lot against it. It makes no odd's to me, but still I like fairness. I like all to get treated fair but that is just me :D

  8. Not really. If I never use the spa, it doesn't matter to me whether they raise their rates. It doesn't affect me. Only those using the service have to decide if it is still worth it.

In the same way, if they raise tips 3% on a package I will never use, it doesn't affect me. Only those buying the package have to decide if it is still worth it.

That is fine. Yet the poster said does not effect me and I am fine with the increase. Not sure why they even felt the need to say that. nevermind

  9. Non issue to non drinkers. We have no problem with the increase.

Slightly selfish way of looking at it.

Yes, you cold argue not much of an increase. Yet there so many added increases creeping in. People often claiming the service and what is dropping as it is..

  10. Just a quick note. The wash and fold bag option was not available on the EX 1/18/15 6 day cruise. The problem is that I was on the previous 9 day cruise and the laundry was on day 4. Luckily the room steward was able to get it done for us.

So you can only get laundry done on a set time during your cruise? It's not available every day?

Have to say $30 is a LOT..

  11. While I understand that some would hate the idea of doing laundry while on a cruise. I think it would be nice if they had both options.

With the bag that you give RCC to do. How quickly do you get it back? Is it say taken in morning and delivered back in the evening?

    Thanks

  12. I know that when Atlantis Charter ships which they do all the time. If you going solo you have to pay tips as if there are two of you! I don't like or agree with it, but I will do it myself on the cruise next year.

Seems a bit unfair considering its a tip. I am from UK so I know we view it a bit different.

Of course I will pay extra if I think they deserve 'I am a decent guy lol.'

But it is good to know if i do a regular cruise on my own, that it is ok to tip as for one person and give extra if I would like too.
