  1. Thanks all so much for your feedback. We're good with MUTS and my kids are 4 and 6. I guess I was just concerned with the amount of passengers this ship takes and the pool area that so many have written about.

Looking forward to this much needed vacation and appreciate all your comments! :)

Hi. My kids were also 4 & 6 last November when we sailed on the Royal for 10-night eastern carib cruise. The kids absolutely loved the ship, including the pool area. Given that the pools aren't large, they more or less just swam 'lightly' and gently in the pools. They had a ball. Spent quite a bit of time in there cooling down and swimming. No jumping allowed, but that was fine. Often the pool was quite busy, and they had to squeeze in and be well behaved as to not bother the adults, but that was fine for them.

They also loved the kids club for a couple hours every other day.

  2. I will be following ! We will be on the Regal in March next year and I am curious to see how you find the crowd over your cruise, given that it could be spring break for some. Would love to hear your feedback on if it feels busier with more children, or college crowd.

    Above all - have fun!!

  3. If I stick with my traditional dining for 6 pm, how does it work when I want to dine at other venues. We will be onboard for 14 nights and we will want to dine at Crab shack on two evenings, fondue one evening, buffet a couple of evenings, crown grill one evening, and sabatinis one evening. That's about 7 nights of the 14 at the alternative venues. How does one work this with traditional dining?

    Thanks for the advice.

    Jennifer

  4. I am planning to book traditional dining at 6 pm for our party of 6. I expect that with a party of 6 it could be difficult to get seating right away in the anytime dining.

However, once we've been on board a few days an we think it would work out to try the anytime dining dining rooms, would it be okay to switch to anytime dining? We might want a change in atmosphere or a different dining times some nights. What is the right way to go about this?

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

  5. Princess is having a special for Canadians ending on

Thursday Feb 4 . The exchange is 1.30

Hi. I'm also from Kamloops :)

I am interested in this deal. I don't see it on princess.com so I am unsure how it works. Is it the price of the cruise that is adjusted? Or is the exchange rate for repurchasing casino credit, etc?

If you have any details that would be great to hear. Thanks,Jennifer

  6. We have booked a Spring Break cruise in March of 2017, mainly because our children will be off school at that time. I am really hoping for the best on our 14 nights. It's actually two 7 day cruises back to back.

I have come across this video, is this what is to be expected in March? We do not want to run into crowds of College age kids....! We are sailing on the Regal Princess. This video is of the Caribbean Princess in March of 2015. I would anticipate this on other cruise lines, but was shocked that Princess ships would attract this crowd. Is this a reality for a Princess ship in March? Looks overwhelming to say the least!

    Anyone had a similar experience?

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

  7. Yes, there will be spring breakers, you can be assured of that. How many, one cannot say. I was on a spring break cruise one year (on another line) with almost 1000 18-22 year olds.. it was a mess!!! There was a lot of damage done (I physically saw a kid throw a CHAIR over the balcony from his stateroom). The captain was beside himself.

Was this a Princess cruise? I also am considering a March 2017 cruise in the Caribbean and would like to know what to anticipate with Princess during Spring Break. Thanks

  8. You said your March cruise was made up of two 7-day cruises. That rings an alarm in my mind. March is spring break season. College kids and families with children take the shorter cruises. On longer cruises you will find an older average age group.

After one March cruise, I swore off cruising during spring break, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. I also prefer to book 10 day or longer cruises if possible.

I will say that children are seldom a problem aboard Princess in my experience. Not so on the March cruise on Royal Caribbean Cruise Line where one family was kicked off the ship at the first port because of the kids behavior and the parents refusal to control them.

Thanks for your feedback. Just curious if you can elaborate on your March cruise. What did you encounter that has you now sworn off spring break, thanksgiving, and Christmas. Thanks again.

  9. thanks for all your feedback. Looks as though the number of passengers won't change dramatically from one sailing to another, even based on time of year if I'm understanding correctly. Maybe just some more kids, given that school will be out in many areas.

I was so impressed with our first princess cruise last november that there were no line ups. I read of others complaining of long line ups on here with the same ship, as it seems quite different than what we experienced. Maybe we were lucky!

  10. Stayed in L102. Estimated balcony was approximately 15' x 15'. It was large, but often windy. Also could not see the water unless standing at the front of the balcony, as it is a solid steel railing rather than glass. Next door, 103/104 was a about 3 to 4 feet narrower and slightly shorter in depth, as it rounds out with the ship. L101 and L102 are the same sizes.

  11. We cruised the Eastern Carib for 10 nights on the Royal last November. It was great - no line ups, no crowds. Fantastic. I wonder if the ship was sold out....

Our second sailing (new to cruising...) is in March 2017. Two 7-night carib cruises, making a 14-night east/west carib. I am wondering if we should expect a big difference in the line ups and crowds. We had no problem with loungers, dinner seating, theatre seating, etc. If the ship sells out in March - could it in fact be plenty more people taking into consideration all the 3 & 4-person cabins with extra people?

I just wonder if the experience will vary greatly from one cruise to the next.....we really preferred the older demographic and would hope for somewhat the same, or at least a good mix and not all families, younger couples, college kids, etc. Thanks

  12. My travel agent has told me that the Regal will be going into dry dock at the end of 2016 for something to be done to the forward cabins......I am booked on a fwd cabin. She thought they were removing the connecting doors on the fwd balconies.

Has anyone heard of this dry dock or know what the plans are for the Regal ? Would have to have an unexpected surprise when we board the ship in March 2017.

    thanks,

    Jennifer

  13. We did the regular boat, not the Twister, but wound up at the same place. This was in the winter of 2012.

The island was nice. The beer was included and cold. The rum punch was included and my wife enjoyed it. All the other drinks were cash bar.

They have a fake market set up and it was as bad as they always are.

They really have a hard sell on a photo as you arrive. A really, really, really hard sell. Like they wouldn't let you past unless you posed for the photo and then the guy came around and did the "I'm just a poor, poor, person who will never afford a cruise. Please help my 12 children have dinner tonight by buying this photo." That's paraphrasing, but fairly accurate.

The water was clear and the sand was soft.

HI and thanks for the review. I am interested in taking the regular boat over instead of the twister. Do you recall the name of the boat company or how to make arrangements? Thanks!!

  14. I have come up with another inquiry about B2B 7-nt carib cruises.

Just wondering if the dining room menus and the theatre entertainment will be repeated on the second week, mirroring the first. Or is there a chance of having something new or different?

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

  15. Just booked a 14-night east/west carib cruise, which is in fact two 7-nt cruises back to back.

Will we need to disembark from the ship when it returns to Fort Lauderdale after the first week? And if so, is it a simpler/quicker process to get back onboard afterwards?

Secondly, are we allowed to bring on additional bottles of wine for the second week when we get back to Fort Lauderdale? Would be handy to grab a bottle and bring it onboard for the second half of the trip.

    Thanks so much!

    Jen
