Would you please be kind enough to share more details.. as to how many people on tour, where it will go and the cost? It would be so appreciated.. for St. Petersburg. My husband is disabled.. no walker or chair.. just moves very slowly...Thank you

I see that the Know Before You Go 2018 still states that Tea is elevated to Royal Dutch Tea once per cruise, but I have not seen any first hand reports of this.
Many sailings have a Sea Day the day after embarkation and I have met more than a few that substituted the Tea for lunch if they overslept due to jet lag.

Does it cost money for the every day high teas?? On the Maasdam? Than you. We are a 4 star.,. but have gone to high tea.

KarenPV and all I just booked this with Viator for St. Petersburg. . 2 people all day tour 9 AM start ( flexible .. will wait for us to get off the ship ), lunch, pick up and delivery to and from the ship, all visa stuff, all entrance fees ... $290.00 total for the 2 of us. I have attached the pdf with all the info. the tour # is 21901P4 you can call them toll free and they will book it all, or you can self book online. There were several people on our Roll Call that were getting people together for the different tours they offered. We did the 2-day All Highlights St Petersburg Excursion and received a cruise critic discount.
We had 13 people on our tour with a max of 16. We rode in a van that sat 2 on 1 side- 1 on the other. It was very clean, and they had plenty of water.
When I signed you for the tours with TJ travel they sent me the paperwork necessary-Visa to present to immigration. NCL had some of there tours off first. They had independent travelers sign up for groups to get off ship, but when it came time to disembark they never even looked at your key card with your assigned time. Line was very long but we were able to get off ship and through the immigration by 08:30 am. The tour company waited.
As for the tour, it was by far the best tour I have had in a long time. We saw the many sites listed and we were never really hurried. They were able to get us into different places like the Hermitage before the crowds came. They provided lunch for us at local restaurants that was very good. We took 2 different boat rides and even a subway ride in their beautiful subway system. Our guide was great. I am so happy I went with TJ travel. It can be scary to book with local companies, but rest assure, this company is on the up and up, and treat you very good.
We also booked a Berlin and Tallin tour with them. They did not require any down payment at all when I booked. I took those tours before SPB and I didn't pay for them until our SPB tour was completed. Now that is trust.
Anyway, had a great trip. Hope any of this helps.

Here are pics that my husband took on August 9, 2012 of Hubbard Glacier falling . Not sure I would have liked to be any closer than we were on the ship.. this was magnificent! I kept telling him that the entire face was going to fall.... and it did!! It will not let me.. or I do not know how to post the video on here.. so here is the link.. I had posted it to youtube for friends and family,.Enjoy!!! ( maybe the video is here????? )

She told me it would be about 2 weeks as she had to order more t-shirts. I wanted a pink one. After 3 weeks and not receiving my t-shirt, I emailed her. She did not answer me. I emailed her every week for 6 weeks. Finally frustrated, I called and emailed the BBB in Kodiak, explaining the situation. A miracle occurred! I got an email from the lady stating my t-shirt would be mailed out that week! I did get the t-shirt and loved it! Thanks to the BBB! Would I buy again and have something shipped later?? I am not truthfully sure!

We were sick over our Christmas cruise.. went to Wal-Mart in Puerto Vallarta!! Shopped for crew and other people that needed "emergency" things.. was just across from the dock.. was no big deal.. took a total of 30 minutes.. walked back and met everyone on the dock and the party began! Would I do it again?? You bet, if I needed something that I could not get on the ship!! Don't judge!

In Icy Straight the walk to the top is really a challenge the little golf cart comes and goes.. ... It is so fun to watch the brave people do the Zip line!! We almost always see Whales here! You can sit by one of the fires and look out at the bay!

The weather is moderate. I would guess the walk from the ship to the welcome center to be about 1500 feet or so. They have a 12 seat shuttle for the mobility challenged that will also carry a scooter or maybe two.

This year we will rent a car in Anchorage and do some things with friends we are traveling with that they have never done. We will be going to Palmer and Wasilla. The Iditarod Museau, and the Eklutna Historical Park. And a late lunch on the Lake. Should be a fun day! Total cost for the 4 of us with renting the car and admissions ( not lunch ) will be about $100.00 per couple.. not bad for an all day adventure! I thought I would share some of the many things we enjoy doing every year in Alaska.
In Juneau, we walk out to the street.. crossover.. ( there is usually a really "colorful" guy directing traffic )
and hail a cab. Take the cab to the Macaulay Salmon Hatchery
cab costs about $11... share the ride. Entrance fee to the hatchery is or was..$5.00 a person.
Absolutely worth seeing. I could stay there all day!!
Or... you can walk about 2 blocks to the police station ( ask anyone where it is ) and you will be at the main bus hub. Take the bus that goes to the Alaskan Brewing Company. Be sure to ask the bus driver to tell you where to get off. The bus costs about $1.00 each way ( be sure to have singles ) The brewery is free.. great talk on how they brew.. free samples of the different beers and great little gift shop! Of course there is Mendenhall Glacier, you can also take the bus there, but it is a bit of a walk from where the bus drops you off back to the park.
I also enjoyed deep sea fishing in Juneau.
Also there is the tram to the top of Mt. Roberts.. It is a bit pricey.. but doing it once is worth it.. the view from the top is incredible! They have a rescued Bald Eagle up there, and a nice restaurant and gift shop. it is free to hike the trail up to the top, but, they charge you if you want to ride down.
Now in Anchorage if we are not meeting friends and family that live there .. we take the free bus from the port to downtown Anchorage. Walk around the block to the Visitors center. There you can choose different things to do.. ie: the zoo, a museum and many other things.. they have little "trains" that will take you where you are going. Most are free.
We take the free little train to the Ulu Factory. ( be sure to tip the kids that are driving.. they are college students that are working over the summer ). There you can see how the Uu knives are made... and buy them. Be careful.. check carefully if buying an Ulu elsewhere that it is NOT MADE IN CHINA!! Right behind the Ulu store There is a river.. and a bridge.. you can walk right over and stand on the bridge ( it is foot traffic only ) and watch them fish for Salmon, and watch the Salmon run upstream if it is the right time of the year . usually the end of July beginning of August ). And when you take the "LITTLE TRAIN" back to the visitors center, go across the street to the Polar Bear Gifts.. the best place for t-shirts and all sort of gifts and sweatshirts.. So reasonably priced. If you are daring.. try a reindeer hot dog or sausage.. not for me , but my husband.."just has to have one every year"! I am intentionally not recommending any tour companies, as what I think was good and a good deal.. may not be to someone else. Google "tours" in the city you are interested in. Hope you enjoyed reading this, and that perhaps it gives you a heads up on fun things to do that do NOT cost a fortune!!

I actually arrived in Seattle on Saturday afternoon. Our group had a limo to take us to the hotels and he was on time and did a fine job of transporting us. Saturday evening was relaxing and trying to get used to the time change. Sunday was a nice long lunch at Anthony's at Pier 66. This is a very nice place to sit and eat while watching those who are embarking on various cruise ships. The Bliss was right outside and it was interesting to watch embarkation from the outside.
Embarkation
This morning was a limo ride from the hotels to Pier 91. It was a short ride and handled well by the limo driver. Because the limo driver arrived early and we were ready, we arrived at Pier 91 about 10:20, and didn't get to enter the building for quite a while. Once the doors opened the process was quick and easy as we are all 4*. The ship looks very nice.
Today
There is a Captain's Welcome Party going on right now. Due to the number of high star Mariners aboard it was split into 2 sessions of about an hour each. It is being held in the Crows Nest. The muster drill is at 3:15 followed by sail away at 4:00.
The Cabin
I have my normal outside cabin, it is 3371 and pictures were sent to HALfacts earlier. The only thing to really note is that Amsterdam has not received the large TV upgrades, at least not in this cabin, and still has the smallish TV and DVD player, along with the Ship Flicks booklet of movies to check out from the front desk. As expected, no cooler and just a Coke and water setup for the Mini Bar.
Tonight's MDR menu is included, have a great day!

Also... forgot for first timers to Juneau... the Red Dog Saloon is a MUST!! Go in.. have a drink or a soda.. and have some fun! Great gift shop next door. Just 2 blocks from the pier.. and public restrooms are across the street.

Flymeaway, thanks for the feedback. I "THINK" this forum are for those of us that have traveled on this itinerary and those of us that this will be our first time, to share what we know and what we want to know. I appreciate all who can help with questions and suggestions. This will be our first Baltic experience. Still hoping tht this cruise will go,
but with all of the virus still circulating.. who knows! Again thanks all for the feedback.. we will just do a 1 day tour
and enjoy the view on day 2 from the ship!
