  1. Did you mean May 17, 2019? I see you have already set up 2 roll calls for that cruise. If so, you need to ask that they delete one. If it's really March 17, then set it up the same way just with the correct date then ask for the incorrect ones to be deleted.

A 69-year-old passenger of a Holland America cruise ship has been lost overboard at Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve in Alaska.

In a brief news release, the park said Saturday night that it had suspended its search for the man, who was reported missing from Westerdam on Friday. The individual was reported missing at 3:50 p.m. when he did not appear for a medical appointment on board, a park release said.

The Park Service was notified 7:30 Friday evening after a ship-wide search confirmed that the passenger was absent.

Searches for the unidentified passenger were conducted both from Park Service boats and from the air, supported by the U.S. Coast Guard.

The release did not say where along the 65-mile Glacier Bay the man was reported missing, and park staff could not immediately be reached Sunday morning.

  3. Thank you Roz. Does that also imply that there are few cabins left ? This is just in early stage for us and I wonder if we need to act or miss the boat - literally :D

No it does not mean that. We just did one of these in May. They wait til about a week to 10 days before sailing to assign your cabin. They wait until all the logistics of cabin assignments are done for those taking the longer cruise.

  4. We fly into Anchorage then train to Denali, motorcoach to Seward and board there. Don't want to carry all over so would like to buy in Seward. Thanks for the Gateway tip

When the motor coach stops in Wasilla for lunch there is a convenience store next door that has a very good wine selection. That met our needs nicely.

  5. Thanks for that info. It is very helpful. Any chance you know the name of the Wasilla restaurant? I might arrange to meet someone there if possible. Cheers.:)

Our lunch stop was at Settlers Bay Lodge with a sandwich/salad buffet. Food was good. I found several of the rest stop facilities along the bus route to be fairly rustic and later in the day downright dirty so I would recommend drinking little water.

  6. Sorry about posting this twice. My computer was acting strange, and I didn't realize the first posting went through. Feel free to delete either one.

I'm thinking about purchasing the Signature Beverage package, but I have a couple of questions. I understand that it is a 15-drink limit per day. Does that include a combination of soda/alcoholic beverages, or is it 15 alcoholic beverages each day? Also, I believe the package includes drinks up to $8.50. What if I order a drink that cost more than that. Am I charged for the entire drink, or just the price difference?

    Thanks.

Yes, the package covers any beverage $8.50 of less except those from the in room mini fridge, room service, Half Moon Cay and often bottles of water for purchase as you leave the ship at ports. If you choose something over the $8.50 limit your account is charged for the entire amount not just the difference.
