  1. Well I hope when I take the Navigator out of Ft. Lauderdale in November there are a lot of Texans onboard to compensate for all of us from Florida & northeast because we are all very rude. Just the fact that you lump everyone who is not from Texas as rude is very RUDE

He didn't lump everyone...he said "When someone was rude...", he asked where they were from. And all of those particular rude people said other than Texas. How is that lumping everyone? The person was already being rude when he asked...so they themselves proved his line of thinking.

Not sure why you took it so personally...you weren't the rude person on the elevator.

  2. for their behavior, complaints, etc, I was the responsible chaperone for kids I did not known

No. The adults traveling with them were their chaperones.

Honestly not sure how on earth you thought you were their chaperone to the point of being "stressed" instead of relaxed. Mole hill...meet mountain.

  3. I just finished a week long on Indy. I booked a group of 17 cabins and to my surprise when I get onboard I find a welcome letter with all the amenities we paid for our group and our cabins number, plus 5 cabins that did not belong to my group.

The passenger of those 5 cabins were 14 teenager kids that I was responsible for that I did not know. SO imagine my week, instead of enjoying I was stressed.

I contacted the group manager on the cruise but he said he could do nothing about it.

Should I contact RCCL to find out why???

What do you mean you were "responsible" for them? And just curious, what are you thinking RCCL will do for you if you do call and complain about your stress? How we feel is our choice...you can choose to be stressed or you can choose to realize some things are out of your control and obviously RCCL made a mistake. Do you honestly believe they would have held you responsible for a group of teenagers you didn't book? Doubtful. And it sounds like nothing even happened...so what was there to stress over?

  4. The soda package ($6.50 per day) is called Royal Refreshment and does not include any virgin drinks.

The Royal Replenish package ($19 per day) does include virgin drinks, but you get no credit at all towards the purchase of alcoholic beverages. Some have posted that they get a shot of some spirit and dump it in the virgin drink, but I don't know what a shot would cost.[/QUOTE]

Now that is worth looking in to... Hmmm...

  5. none. too expensive to access WiFi or cellular data on board.

DITTO! Turn your phone to Airplane Mode and leave it. If your phone is set to automatically download emails, Facebook notifications, game notifications, you will rack up insanely high data charges quickly. Look for places in port that offer free wifi and connect that way...while in airplane mode! If you have to use your phone, make sure you turn off data roaming and limit the call...charges will be a couple dollars a minute, at least. Wifi on the ship is so expensive and terribly slow...not worth it to even buy it, if you ask me! Use the time to unplug and enjoy the good ole days of NO PHONES!

  6. Thank you for the compasses! I had been looking for them. Did anyone eat at any of the specialty restaurants? I made reservations at Chops, but was wondering if the other ones. Thank you!

I've heard rave reviews about Giovanni's Table on the Navi. I'm planning to book there. I heard too that the lunch is the best deal...something like $12 per person for their full menu. Book it late and it could be an early dinner.

  7. Thanks Everyone!

I will probably opt out of the facial (maybe get one before the wedding) and just stick with the body wrap and massage!!!:)

Just my two cents...most estheticians do not recommend a facial just prior to a wedding...even a standard facial. You are running the huge risk of breakouts, red splotching and such. Or what if you had a reaction? It can happen. I'd talk with a professional esthetician and let them know you are wanting to look your best, and they will tell you a time frame to have that facial prior to the wedding that will decrease your risk of unwanted blemishes on your big day.

  8. I wouldn't ever do a resurfacing facial away from home, either. Your best possible scenario with any peel would be blotchy redness. Worst possible...a reaction.

Do you really want to look like that on your honeymoon?

Massage away...but I'd steer clear of the peels on a cruise.

  9. While peacefully cruising Glacier Bay and marveling at the picturesque sights of the snow capped mountains and ice bergs, we heard nothing but the wake gently slapping against the hull as our ship slowly glided through the iceberg dotted sea...

...until the man on the balcony next to us let rip the loudest and longest fart I'd ever heard in my entire life. I kid you not.

I have to confess...I giggled like a 12 year old, tried to contain it, but had to run inside our room where I laughed harder than I ever had before.

And of course we saw him EVERYWHERE we went for the rest of the cruise.

  10. I am checking out prices for our 2017 cruise and found a 9 night cruise out of Miami on the Navigator of the Seas in April. It is only $2,003.00 for a balcony. That's cheaper then 6-7 day cruises I have been checking out. Are there any Navigator fans out there to help me with this?

We paid $1575 (total, not per person) for our balcony for a 7 nighter on Navigator over a year in advance...so that price isn't crazy cheap, in my opinion. I'd book it.

  11. Hi there! Thanks so much for your little review. Loved the positive comments!

Can you please tell me how busy Smith Cove was when you went? We are looking for a place to spend the day snorkeling and just enjoying the scenery...but not necessarily with 500 of our closest friends. I'm certainly not expecting it to be empty...just curious how busy it was when you went.

  12. I have never had that work for me in my past experience. On two different cruises I did the Recommend a Friend, filled out the appropriate form, and was told both times that my request did not meet the terms and requirements. Both friends were new to Royal, both friends were on same sailing as me, both times I gave all appropriate information and their reservations were made during the appropriate time frame. Neither time was anyone at RCI able to tell me why I didn't receive the credit...just said that it didn't qualify. Very disappointing.

  13. Its funny around here how some people will take one post from one person off of one ship as gospel but question many posts from many people from many ships that basically are saying the same thing

I would wait until i got onboard before assuming anything regarding drink prices. Again, they are inconsistent fleet wide at best. I never had any luck finding a cocktail under 10 bucks + 18%.

    YMMV

Glad I could amuse you.

  14. We just sailed the Serenade TA last week and not all of the drink prices have increased for non-premium simple mixers.

I ordered a HOUSE vodka and tonic for only $6 + $1.08 tip. A Grand Marnier straight-up did increase to $7 + tip from $6. A Baileys on the rocks was only $7 + tip. Jack Daniels on the rocks $8 + tip. At one point a bartender tried to charge me for Absolut @ $8, but I refused the drink. He was visibly upset, but hey, that's not what I ordered.

There were the $10 and $12 monsters, but we only had a few. It seemed if you ordered more than one mixer it was $10. Some martini's were $12.

Caveat, check on your ship before you order, but at least for this cruise, an inexpensive drink is available.

THAT IS THE EXACT DRINK I'VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR A CURRENT PRICE ON! Thank you a million times over. That is in line with what I have paid in the past. Thank you for that answer.
