  1. I use one of these when on the Quest/Journey - provides two USB outputs for iPhone/Ipad/Camera etc http://www.amazon.co.uk/eBoot-Universal-International-Adapter-Conversion/dp/B00KT17TZ4/ref=sr_1_20?ie=UTF8&qid=1448136040&sr=8-20&keywords=4+way+travel+plug+adaptor

keeps trailing leads to a minimum and the other 240v socket can be used with a normal adaptor.

I try not to use the US style ones, the voltage is too low and my US to UK adaptor falls out!

  2. I read somewhere, that they will upgrade their list of the included drinks to a higher level.

Because quality was going down. It was a difference between our two Azamara cruises on the Journey. For example: one the first one in 2012 the Rose wine was a really good Beringer White Zinfandel. On the second cruise last year it was only a medium portugese rosewine and the Beringer had to be paid extra for a charge of $8.

Maybe it´s the reason, like on all other cruise lines, to sell beverage packages, to upgrade the quality by paying extra.

I hope it will be correct that they will bring the drinks back to a higher quality.

Never, ever had any quality issues on the included wine, there are some very nice ones that I like, there are some that my wife prefers that I don't but there is always a good choice.

As always, wine choice is very personal.:)

  3. Yep, they definitely close out the books at the end of each cruise, with the exception, as mentioned, of the internet minutes.

Just wondering how they handle the OBC, we have a b2b next June, we have $1200 for each cruise so presume as its non refundable that we should use up the first cruises OBC before the next one commences.

  4. Does Azamara not have a guest satisfaction survey? Not that an extra mention ever hurts, but I should think there would be a place on there to recognize the crew.

yes it does, it is sent by email to guests on their return home. There is opportunity to name Crew on it.

  5. Would a bottle of prosecco fit in the minibar? Or are we not allowed to use it for drinks we bring?

No problem getting a bottle of prosecco or Champers in your minibar, just take out enough soda's to make room. Your room attendant/butler will happily provide a bucket of ice for it as well.

  6. We have just come off the Journey and had an excellent White Night in Marmaris. We were entertained by local Turkish Dancers which included some very entertaining Belly Dancers which were followed by the Journey Singers, Band and Tony Markey. It was also Captain Magnus' first White Night event as Captain which culminated with the Crew Waves on deck. Overall a great performance.:)

  7. Thanks everyone for your input, it is helping me to decide. A pity this one, to be held in FETHIYE, TURKEY probably hasn't been done before. We will decide nearer the time.

We attended one of the first Azamazing Evenings in Fethiye a couple of years ago, at that time a full dinner was served which was a bit of a logistical difficulty, due to the number of guests (the whole ship) not everyone was served the dessert course, hence the decision to change to light snacks is far better in my opinion. In fact on that first occasion there was ample provision of light snacks at the venue in Fethiye before the dinner. We were seated at tables and watched a traditional Turkish wedding performance, followed by Belly Dancers:)

We have been to a number of evenings since then and have enjoyed them all, particularly the one in Burma at the Peoples Park in Yangon.

We are on the Journey in September and have signed up again for the Azamazing evening in Fethiye. :)

  8. That subjective ol' matter-food!!

Far superior on Azamara than Seabourn.

Seriously though, although I enjoyed our Seabourn experience, the choice of food on Azamara is much better

We join the Sojourn for our first cruise on Seabourn next week in Monaco, we love Azamara's food so this is going to be an interesting comparison.

  9. Cruise Critic publicized their list of the Best Small Cruise Ships for Dining.

It makes me so happy to see the AZAMARA QUEST listed #1, and the AZAMARA JOURNEY a click below!

Here's how we were selected "The best small cruise ships for dining chosen by cruisers. All rankings are based on [Cruise Critic] member review ratings for cruises taken in 2014"

Thats great news, I have to say our most recent experience on the Grand Prix Cruise confirms this status :) The food we had was excellent, better than ever and we are looking forward to the new enhancements which we'll experience next year (except the loss of the outdoor deck in the evening!)

  10. I'm excited about the new venue and look forward to trying it out, HOWEVER I am a little sad that the opportunity to dine out there in the evenings with the normal buffet will not be possible, especially when my favourite Indian Buffet is on. At least as I understand it we will still be able to have our early morning breakfast and light lunch out there.:)

  11. Tap the top of your ipad screen and it should come up full screen and then tap again to bring back the control panel

    Hope that works for you

Thanks Munch1, so simple, why didn't I think of that😘👍

  12. Excellent video Bonnie, I was quite disappointed when it finished, look forward to more. Took a little while to get used to the controls on my iPad, is there a way of making the video full screen and losing the bottom control panel?

  13. Hi I've just registered with Cruise Critic despite being an avid cruiser with Azamara as i've become increasingly concerned with the amount of bad reviews and experiences people are writing on here. We discovered Azamara shortly after its launch and have had 10 happy experiences around the world with both ships, so much so that in the next year we have another 5 booked. We have never experienced any of the issues raised by the recent posters, nor have we on any of the other lines we have cruised.

OK I'm not disputing some people have had some issues, I would just like to assure people that what has been described recently is NOT the norm for Azamara, the ships are lovely, the staff excellent and the service and food beyond par In my opinion.

    Enough said!
