Looks like there’s some action on disengaging the barge. Hopefully this means they can depart and be on their way.

Why do you have to be snarky? I did say I’m not familiar with ship operations in an attempt to avoid the snarky response. Are they allowed to dump sewage while in port? I suspect not and so what happens when that fills up? There may also be other things they can’t really operate effectively while sitting in port which may affect the comfort of those on board. If you are an expert in ship operations then maybe just answer the question without being snarky.

How many days do people think they will keep everyone on board before they get them off and send them home? I’m not really familiar with ship operations so is there any chance conditions deteriorate on board (sanitation for instance)?

Agreed, not Celebrity’s fault. But in hindsight maybe they should have gotten one of the companies NOT on strike to refuel them! It will be interesting to see what happens with Disney Wonder that pulled in earlier today and if they are able to refuel and sail this afternoon.

Apparently the barge attached to the ship is owned by the tug company that is on strike. They won’t remove the barge, and the other tug companies will not touch it because they do not own it. Ship being held hostage by the striking tug company workers after they abandoned the barge while still attached.

They are still on board.
