  1. We are on lido 3/4 days on our previous cruise because grandmother didn't like spending that much time sitting/waiting for food.

Depending on what ship you're on if there's a guys they close at 6 or Mongolian. Also ate at deli and pizza everyday and never got tired of it. And then the buffet also changed daily which was nice. There was also something good even though some people complain about it all being terrible. I personally prefer to eat in the MDR but still adequate food for the buffet!

  2. We waited 10-20 minutes one night on freedom last year around 6:45 I believe. Other nights no wait. It really just depends how many any time dining and assigned dining people there are.

We prefer the assigned time but the any time dining wasn't a bad option. Some of the two person tables, however, felt extremely close to other tables. Like one foot of room to get into table because it's so close to another table. Not sure if this is just tables in the back or just on conquest class ships or what but a bigger guy couldn't get into their table...

  3. I agree with what everyone else said basically short and weekend cruises are bad. 7 day and up there's still a slight chance you'll see somebody having too much fun. On 7 day freedom cruise last March a girl didn't know what cruise ship she was on in Cozumel (there were 5 ships in port (3 carnival)). Needless to say she almost fell off the pier several times and it was really weird. I think she's the exception because we've never seen anyone trashed before on a 7 day and up cruise.

On 4 day cruise from Galveston in May it wasn't a drunk crowd either really. I think it just depends on time of year, length of cruise, and luck

  4. Sides are included or at least they were in March of 2015 when we went on freedom. Definitely worth the $35 fee but make sure you go hungry because it was a lot of food for us but we forced ourselves to keep eating because it just kept getting better and better going towards dessert [emoji39]

  5. We sail Freedom on July 2nd and loved reading your review. Do you happen to know where coffee is available earlier than 6:30? We are early risers but not alarm setters so don't really want to schedule room service.

Coffee is 24/7 on lido! It's pretty good coffee too (in my opinion some will disagree I'm sure)

Love the review and love the freedom. Hoping to go on her a third time after our Disney cruise in December

  6. Desperate for answers and I can't seem to find any anywhere for our Mexican snack needs.

Are chips and or salsa and or queso and or guacamole available anywhere on the ship at any time of the cruise?! (Disney wonder to be specific)

If not we can bring our own but just wanted to know if anyone has seen any recently on board.

    THANKS IN ADVANCE YALL

  7. Personally I would say anytime from 10:30-11:30. We always get the 10am check in and have never had to wait in a line more than 5 minutes and that's been the past 5 cruises from Galveston. Debarkation can be a pain in the butt if they decide not to do the passport only lanes it slows everything down.

Embarkation is mainly slowed down by the number of weddings (if any) and number of platinum diamond guests. Sometimes there's very few and sometimes there's several large wedding groups [emoji16].

(We loved the freedom it's by far our favorite ship in the fleet. Have a blast!)

  8. I was on the Magic last November, and we just touched to get into our room - no swiping! It was fun watching one of my travel buddies attempt to get in by trying to get his key to the door without taking it out of his pocket. Funny guy. :p Isn't the magic and older ship??

Does anybody know if wonder has the ones where you touch it? I know she's going into dry dock this fall so hopefully she does if she doesn't have them already!

  9. Just booked our first Disney cruise on the wonder for December 2017! We're so excited but when we booked I guess we didn't proof read enough. Anyways it has the suffix "Jr" by my name. I tried logging in and it won't let me change it. I know I can call Disney and have it fixed but does anybody know if it even matters....we didn't think they would look that closely but if it doesn't match passport exactly we don't want to risk anything I guess LOL

  10. Sorry if this has been posted before but I looked online and couldn't find anything.

We're taking our first Disney cruise and it's the week before Christmas and we were wondering if and how we could hang Christmas stockings in the cabin. Don't want to damage the walls obviously but didn't know what worked best and if anybody has any experience with this. Thanks in advance!

  11. This time around I intended to do a thorough and detailed review of our cruise but it's been hectic since we got back so here's a brief overview. If you have any questions feel free to ask away!

We got to Galveston around 10:15 (yay Houston traffic) and parked at Galveston park n cruise like always. Always recommend it's always nice people who know what they're doing (I think it was $42 for gated parking walking distance from terminal)

Check in at Galveston has no lines but we had to sit and wait about 30 minutes but plenty of chairs and lemonade and water so no big deal (plus it's in air conditioning so in Texas that's a big deal)

Food was great. Main dining room took a little longer than usual but nothing extreme (about an hour and a half for the entire dinner)

Lido buffet was good (better than freedoms in my opinion) we loved the burgers and deli and pizza and blue iguana burritos and fish n chips and even the buffet was good. Didn't have a single bad food item this cruise which was weird usually there's SOMETHING that's not 100% perfect but everything was fantastic. (Didn't order room service). The one thing that was weird to me was that there were never dining room menus posted in front of dining rooms or on stateroom tvs?? I liked being able to see what was available before going down to dinner. Didn't eat at steakhouse either (but we know we missed out because we've been on freedom)

Stateroom: we were in a 1A 8357. It's larger than a standard interior but since it's oriented differently it's a 1A. So much room! The mini bar was locked the entire time (don't think it was emptied or it would have been unlocked?) so maybe John Heald wasn't 100% correct saying they'd be emptied LOL. We could have had it unlocked but no big deal. Cabin was cleaned twice daily.

Entertainment was good. There were several comedy shows that were repeats but we didn't go to a comedy show. Absolutely LOVED the shows because they're not the playlist shows. Wish carnival would bring these back to other ships. We will likely sail Liberty again just because of the live bands and dancers at the shows they're so much better! They had lots of good singers throughout the ship.

Cruise director was pretty good (Corey). He was there but not over the top in your face which we appreciated. There was plenty to do all day and night.

Liberty is in great shape. Everything is spotless.

As most of you have heard already we did have a passenger fall overboard and our prayers and condolences go out to her and her family. We were in rooms for about an hour or two while they searched but no luck.

Overall it was a great weekend cruise but 4 days was just too short!! Loved the Liberty and would highly recommend but compared to the freedom, the freedom wins (because of longer sailings and the staff)

  12. Boarding in Galveston is always SCHEDULED for around 12:30 but on our past 3 cruises (2 on freedom and one on Liberty) they have begun the boarding process around 11:15-11:30. We had 10am check in times all three times and there were fewer than 3 people in front of us in line. We did have to sit for maybe 30 minutes but there's water and lemonade. I would really suggest getting an 11-11:30 slot or time around there as the lines were almost nonexistent that early. Galveston does a good job keeping everything organized

  13. It worked on freedom cruise in March 2015 but not 2016 or Liberty in 2016. When it did work though it was too slow to even work. In one week I think it sent and received 4-5 snapchats.....they probably removed it because it uses so much bandwidth sending and receiving pictures. We sent pictures via Instagram or Facebook messenger

  14. Leaving tomorrow on Liberty. Just received this email:

    Greetings folks,

We are looking forward to welcoming you on board Carnival Liberty and would like to take this opportunity to provide you with some information regarding your cruise.

Carnival Liberty has experienced a technical issue with the ship's bow thrusters. The bow thrusters are used to safely maneuver the ship during docking procedures. Rest assured, all the other ship systems, hotel services and safety equipment are functioning normally.

While our teams have established a repair plan, it will take some additional time to complete this work. In the interim, we have secured tug boat assistance here in Galveston and Cozumel which will allow us to safely and reliably complete our docking maneuvers. We are confident we will be able to visit Cozumel as planned for this cruise. We wanted to make you aware of the above information in the event you notice a tug boat assisting us in and out of port.

As always, our officers, staff and crew are looking forward to providing you with a fun and memorable cruise experience.

  15. I think they'll be able to fix it in port. If they have to dry dock they probably would have already scheduled it and they would most likely schedule it in May before summer peak season. Hoping it will be fixed and we won't miss our cruise leaving Thursday [emoji16]

  16. Sorry if this is seems like a stupid post but we're looking at booking our first Disney cruise and we're super excited. We're looking for December out of Galveston but not sure if we want to go this December or December of 2017. Does anybody know when 2017 dates will come available or will it be about December of this year before they become available?
