If you use iMessage it's using Internet and not phone service! We always use iMessage both on the ship and in ports with wifi

Can't say exactly since it's a repo cruise I'm assuming. Since the 18th is a Friday, the only other ship that might be in port would be the triumph. Not the freedom or magic. Galveston usually does a good job getting people off quickly so I think you could make it. Usually we do self debark and are off the ship around 8 and out of the terminal before 8:30. Hope this helps!

Don't forget freedom. We lose the triumph to Nola so it'll be freedom breeze and Liberty here in Texas
-
Western Caribbean usually isn't that bad once you get out a while. The winds slow down and the air becomes warmer. Leaving from Texas usually it's warm the next morning after leaving

Margaritaville. Was completely packed and overrun during spring break last year but no brainier it's spring break. It's pretty small and the downtown area is kind of scary if you ask me. We did a horseback riding excursion that was amazing. Downtown Montego Bay had a few shops but again, I was clinging onto my wallet the entire time thinking somebody would snatch it....

I completely agree with all above. We love interiors mainly because they get colder and are pitch black at any time of day (perfect for naps) and the savings can be huge as well. Configurations of interiors vary by ship so you may want to look up pictures of your cabin on the sunshine first

We were on the freedom in March and loved it so much we just booked for March of this spring. She's a great ship and we loved everything. We'll just be sure to bring a book or something next time because Jen didn't plan too many activities in the mornings. But mornings are much better spent lounging and resting [emoji4]

Last year on our spring break cruise there was basically no roll call. Spring break cruises bring in more families and college kids. Both of which I don't think use forums like this as they're just there to have a good time. I wouldn't think it was a big group in the middle of spring break

We also order a little something from room service to eat while we're getting dressed lol! We order coffee and usually muffins and toast from room service then eat in dining room then if need be we get an omlet since they're served aft until noon (or they were on the freedom in march)

Dining room breakfasts are always great! The food quality is 40x better than the buffet breakfast. Only thing is you have to look somewhat decent (no flip flops, swim suits, etc) but it's worth putting on shoes and a real shirt because the food quality and selection is so much better. I don't have the exact menu but there's definitely something everyone will like

Another tip is you can take nice still photos from your videos w free GoPro studio software. It's simple to use. Just go to edit export and it saves it as a jpeg

We did in March! It was awesome. Search "carnival cruise GoPro" on YouTube and you'll find some really cool videos

Back in march on the freedom they were on there. They aren't on the schedule part they're in a different section of the fun times

Not 100% sure but I want to say 6 or 7 laps was a mile? I hate to say that because I'm really not 100% sure

Yes. Galveston park n cruise highly recommend. Across the street in abandoned warehouses but it's secure and gated and no shuttles to the terminal. It's reasonably priced as well and they always have a sheriff at the street so cars don't run you down!

Hot chocolate is a must. It's so good!!!!

Spring hill suites and whatever other Marriott was beside it. We stayed there last year. It was $100 for the night and I believe they offered free shuttles with $60 parking. Great hotel but they're all booked up for our spring break cruise this year...[emoji20]

It all depends on the ship and room. On the freedom we stayed in a 1a 7345 and there wasn't actually an upper and a lower but two lowers. The cabin was actually larger than a standard interior it was just set up differently. Now if you're in a porthole 1a on deck 1 personally I would switch. But for a solo cruiser even the lower would leave you plenty of room

First off I wanna say the triumph is awesome and Yall will have a blast!
1) not sure about when to buy admission. But Cozumel is a big port and when there were four ships there last March there was still plenty of room in the port. I would think there's room to book the day of but I plan ahead so personally I would book now.
2) cabs in both progreso and Cozumel take USD no problems
3) I honestly wouldn't recommend a taxi for progreso....port can be a bit scary....there is a shuttle from where the boat docks to the port and then a bus station that goes all over progreso and for excursions. Everything else is walking distance. I recommend going to shops area it's like a flea market type deal but people will do ANYTHING to sell you something and they're super pushy.
4) progreso has a free beach area that you have to pay for chairs, umbrellas, etc but the beach area is pretty nice for a public beach. Cozumel has better beaches but there's are more resort type and you have to pay to travel there and pay to enter..
5) we got the the port for the freedom in Galveston at 10am and by the time we got through security we were zone 3 and had to wait maybe 10 minutes so we accidentally timed it perfectly
Have a great cruise and be sure and post lots of pics! Love the triumph and were thinking of going again after our freedom cruise in the spring
-
You can bring them but they obviously don't want you carrying around 1 liter bottles of liquor
-
It's almost never blocked by chairs or anything but often times people will either stand or walk on it which defeats its purpose.....but it's big enough to go around them so no worries
-
On the freedom it was open till 11. I know it's not the same ship but sister ships. The deli was my favorite place to eat though!
-
We were on the freedom recently deck 7 interior and the cabin was FREEZING. We had to set it on the warm side of the dial several times to warm it up. Not sure if leaving the curtains open warms it up but it was ice cold in our cabin
-
Depending on which ship you may also want to look at 1As. Our 1A on the freedom was midship deck 7 and it was actually bigger than a standard interior! Normal room just bigger and configured differently
Did Freedom ever get Dr. Pepper??
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
We know cruises from Texas are the only ones that serve Dr. Pepper and Shiner Bock beer. Magic and Triumph both do however when we were on the Freedom last March (she just came to Galveston) she didn't have Dr Pepper or shiner. Crew said they hadn't "replenished stock" yet. Can anybody recently off confirm that freedom has these??
