  1. As far as I know, the wine dispensers are gone from all ships but Cellar Masters lives on.

Cellar Masters has a selection of wine by the glass, or you can purchase a bottle. If you want a particular wine, such as Caymus, you will need to order a bottle. Even if it is not listed in Cellar Masters, the sommelier will be happy to get it for you.

I've posted the attached list several times recently so don't know if you saw it on this thread. We really, really like our wine. We like the premium package for several reasons:

    1) We can order a glass of wine, or 2, with lunch or just to enjoy in the afternoon on our balcony with out worrying about the bill. 2) We can order a glass of wine with the appetizer or after dinner, port or dessert wine, without worrying about the bill. 3) We can get a 20% discount on the bottles of wine we order with dinner.

Often, after making friends with the Cellar Master, we've had some very good wines at greatly reduced prices. I suspect these have been from an old reserve or rare wine list and there is only 1 or 2 bottles left. Some day we'll score a Screaming Eagle. :d if not we have set up a fund to buy a bottle on board.

Did I mention we like our wine, especially on a cruise?

Thanks, ChezMaryLou. Very helpful! I see from the notes that the wine list was from 2013. Any idea how different the list is today?

  2. Sail calabaza is great and the best

    If booked, try silver moon

We've been on Silvermoon twice and can't imagine anything better! Can you share what is "better" on Calabaza? It sounds like you're a fan of both so a comparison would be helpful. TIA

  3. Let me add to the positive reviews. We've been on two Silvermoon Catamaran trips, the 24 person trip both times and both times it was a spectacular experience.

  4. Great Review! We won't be on her again until next January, but it's nice to hear how your experience was so recently!

One question--that I know I can find out somewhere else, but can you tell me about dinner in the WJ? Is it buffet, like at lunch? We've been on RCCL several times, and haven't done WJ for dinner. Or is it a modified version of the buffet? Any more details would be great.

And thanks again for the detailed review!

    Jane

  5. Someone already suggested mailing postcards to yourself from each port with a note about the day/port--a sort of short travel journal. This is a variation on that idea. We try to write at least one postcard and sometimes two or three for each day of the trip; we get them in port or sometimes on the ship or both, and mail them in the next port, if possible. If it's too much hassle to mail them ourselves we just post them from the ship, which may mean they don't go out until the cruise is over. We bring pre-printed mailing labels to mail them with.

Once they've all arrived, we put them in order, making sure we have a front and back "cover" postcard--usually either of the ship or the departure port city--and then we take them to a copy center (like Kinko's) and pay about $5 to have them coil bound. Voila! Instant travel journal!

We've done this many times now, and have learned that it works best if you try to find postcards that are generally the same size, but even that doesn't matter too much. It's just so much fun, and so much easier!, to pull out the little booklet and relive those cruise moments rather than having to find a bunch of loose postcards.
