  1. has anyone docked at the Kai Tak dock in Hong Kong? this is at the old airport. questions: what kind of shuttles were there and what did they cost? were taxis plentiful and what did it cost to go to nearest MTR station or star ferry terminal? thank you so much.

  2. Most of the TV's have an HDMI connection.

yes. they have a HDMI connection. usually in the back. we use wife's mirror to find them. you may have to try to move the tv a little bit - wiggle it - to get to them. but, forgot how to change the source/input? some one help us with this one.

so, connect your laptop by hdmi and watch your dvd. gives you a choice over ship tv. great idea.

  3. this is a racket. they should include tips in the fare. we have worked on cruise ships so we know. the tip pool includes so many people - food & beverage officers & staff, MD, cooks, everyone. same with rooms. not enough goes to the people that we think we are tipping like your table and room stewards. so many hands reaching into the pot. we are paying the bonus program. include it in the fare. we adjust and pay what we think is a smaller but reasonable amount per day.

  4. The best coffee is Jamaican Blue Mountain!

one of best in the world. bot at grocery store in Jamaica. fantatsic. soory this is off topic but if you ever get the chance ...... dont buy blends - just pure 100% blue mtn

  5. we have enjoyed every cruise we have ever taken. many lines we have sailed on no longer exist. may ships no longer exist. it is an attitude - every ship, every cruise is great in so many ways. so much fun on the ship. amazing ports all over the world. wow. of course, there are often problems. but, that's life.:)

  6. That's the first step. Once the new cabling and WiFi is installed, they have a lot more work to do to upgrade/update the system. It doesn't need to be done in dry dock... They do it with passengers onboard. That's the way they did it on the Sapphire a year ago.

Hi Pam. thanks for info. do you think they will ever upgrade to a better internet connection. we have been on 3 world cruises and the internet was non existent in many locations. we have found internet to be pretty bad on all sailings. thanks

  7. This is Princess video. A little dated but will get the idea and how to work it.

They from what people saying on both Royal and Regal.

thank you so much for sharing this with all of us. fantastic what technology is providing for us. can"t wait until our next cruise.

  8. These guys should be looking at the future. The new large container terminal and cruise terminal in Mexico could attract a lot of business down there instead of coming to Los Angeles and Long Beach. Stay tuned !!

San Fran is a little less vulnerable, but could be eliminated as an origin port.

how can we get more info on this? thanks

  9. we appreciate everyone who started this and participated. you are so right. all the balc on royal are 41 sq ft. the sapphire has 80 and 48. we booked the royal but now are having second thoughts. why build a ship with no outside - just balc or better and then downsize the balc?? pay more and get less?? thanks again for your insights.:)

  10. our luggage tags for Golden Princess April 1, 2014 say that we can bring one 750 ml bottle wine per adult person. additional wine subject to $15 corkage fee. luggage is subject to search. the financial guys continue to do what they can to increase revenue and hurt our wallets. nickel & dime. this is why people go on crystal and reagent.
