I was able to get ocean ready with no problems whatsoever.  My cabin mate however keeps getting a message that says details do not match.  Has anyone ever had this happen?  On hold with princess now for a very long time.  Help....

The "details do not match" statement is so vague, it could be anything. That was, however, the case for us as well, so I then went back through the cruise personalizer "Guest Information" section and I found one spot on DW information that was mot completed correctly.  You might give it a look see.

How far ahead of your cruise can you sign up for Ocean Ready?

Our final payment for our Nov cruise is due Aug 6th and we made the payment a week early.  All the features of Ocean Ready and Ocean Now apps were made available to us 20 minutes after we submitted our payment, approx 100 days prior to cruise.  The final payment was the key.

On the CB in November and have been able to complete everything but the "Cruise Personalizer" circle on the app.  Still shows no green circle.  On Princess our names are green indicating all is done (I guess!).  Have even been able to order our Medallions without problem.  That lack of a green circle is bugging me tho - has anyone else had this issue and if so what did you do to rectify it?  Thanks!

We are on CB in November doing a B2B.  As soon as I made our final payment today, the circle turned green.  Hallelujah!

  4. I must admit that I have trouble remembering faces and names, but we were absolutely surprised on our last cruise when a couple got on the elevator with us and identified us first by our hometown and then they called us by our first names. We had met them a couple years earlier as part of a group of wonderful people and had really enjoyed that trip.  To our surprise, they let us know that they had not only stayed in touch with that group but had actually set up this current cruise and in fact all the others were on board as well. What a delightful reunion cruise that turned out to be.

Meatloafsfan, I had the same questions, thanks so much for the very helpful response.  Guess if I add an extra shot of espresso to my large cappuccino it would could as two (but makes for a great start to the morning), will find out next week on Coral!

Maybe it depends on the particular barista but we have never had extra punches taken for a double shot.

Our luggage tags look like this. Like katisdale said above, simply loop the hanger through the tag holder as shown and then do the same thing around the handle of the bag by slipping the entire tag through the loop. I'm about to go put tags in mine right now. 😎 Our last trip was two cruises with one night between. Almost a B2B. I actually put the tags for both cruises into the holders at once. The first cruise was showing like the one below (not our tag or our name) and the tag for the second cruise was inside of that. When the first cruise was over I simply removed the outer tag and, voila!, the new tag was ready to go.

We have the same tags and they work great.  At the hotel, the morning of the cruise I pull them out and loop them through the handles our suitcases and we are all set.  They are very durable.  I think ours cost about $6.

We were on the cruise at the end of November just prior to the dry dock. It was a miserable experience. The main dining room was a disaster with extremely slow service. Had to wait for a table (ATD) only to walk into the DR to find that there were scores of tables (no kidding) that had yet to be cleared. Obviously, the dining room was far from full but none of the supervisors in evidence seemed to be interested in asking the wait staff to pick up the pace and clear the tables. Had extreme connectivity problems and tv kept going out...

We were on the two cruises just prior to dry dock in November and had a great time.  I really couldn't find anything to complain about, including ATD.  Each person sees thing through their own eyes.

I have been using up my coffee cards and I know they expire August 31st 2019.  I am going to be on the Sky Inaugurals  in the U.S. Dec.4 and Dec. 7th. For anybody who is on the Elite status and who has experienced  b2b cruises , do the coffee credits on your card evaporate after the first cruise or do they carry on to the second week ?

What happens if there is any leftover OBC  on the first cruise do they carry over to the second week ?

    Thanks.

    Sali

The coffee credits do carryover the the second leg of your cruise.  We had the same type b2b cruise in November and all remaining credits from the first week were added to those we acquired for the 2nd week.  We traded our elite minibar setup for coffee cards on each leg of the cruise.

  9. We recently downloaded the Ocean Ready app and created a login.  I was able to add photos and personal info but it would not find any future bookings.  Is there a time frame for future cruises?  I entered my booking number but received a error message that name not found on this sailing and to check my spelling.  Is this app only effective a short while before you cruises?

Just got off the Caribbean Princess.  We did a b2b, but my invoice was booked as a 14 day cruise..one deposit.

Caribbean Princess is now fully Ocean Medallion.

Traded our mini bar for 2 coffee cards on day one (call room service).   In ten minutes the coffee cards were loaded on to the medallions (even though the mini bar was taken away later in the day).

We did not close out our account at the end of the first cruise, but did have to close out our casino account the last night of the first cruise.  When returning from immigration early morning the first day of second cruise, we were given another mini bar setup. We did not know that all the unused coffee "punches" were rolled over to the second week..so we exchanged for the coffee cards ,again.  Since we were using our old paper cards on the first few days of the first cruise ..we started the second cruise with almost 50 "punches".  Had we known that the first card rolled over..we would have kept the mini bar and gotten beer and diet coke, instead.

All my OBC were given as a 14 day cruise (military, stock and FCC) and the free internet minutes were given as a 14 day cruise (not two 7's).

Same experience for us on the Royal in November.  We were on b2b 7 day cruises (booked as 14 day) and traded the minibar each week for coffee cards.  During the second leg of the cruise we found those unused punches leftover from the first week rolled over the the second week.

They go to the person that has the status and earned the perk that was traded. Not split between 2 passengers.

At least that is the way they have done it in mine the last several cruises.

We have been on the Royal and Caribbean Princess since the new coffee card deal went into effect and both times we were asked which card we wanted to have the coffee packages added to.  Room service gave us the option as to the distribution. The status has nothing to do with it.  If you had booked a suite, for instance, you could trade out the minibar for coffee cards, even if it was your first cruise.

What happens if you swap mini bar set up for 2 coffee cards as in the past they delivered coffee cards to your cabin what happens with the new ocean medallion and when and where is it added.

The 15 coffees are encoded onto your ship account, fifteen each for the two people in the cabin.  The barista scans your cruise card or medallion and deducts one coffee each time you get a premium coffee.

Do we have to prepurchase the coffee card online before the cruise or can we purchase as soon as we board?

You will have many opportunities to purchase the cards once on board.

We did a B2B on the Royal Princess in November and our coffee cards were valid for both legs of the cruise.  We are elite and we always trade our minibar setup for coffee cards (digitally encoded on our cruise card of course).  My DW likes specialty coffees every morning while I use my card for only brewed coffee and an occasional latte.  The odd thing to me was that when we traded our minibar setup for the 2nd leg of the cruise for coffee cards the barista told me that I then had nearly 30 punches for specialty brews remaining on my card, so they not only carryover but are also accumulative.  I guess I could have used my punches to get coffees for my DW and kept our minibar setup but it wasn't worth the inconvenience.

Experience has taught me to always fly the day before cruise departure.

Same with us!  We missed a cruise a few years ago because of two unrelated flight delays.  It was a terrible feeling and now we always fly a day early.

Whenever I book a cruise, I just ask for the casino rate and I have never been refused.  We are currently booked for a SA cruise in February and received casino rate along with special offers - no grats, OBC and 300 off airfare.

Same experience for us.  There was one cruise date when we were told that the special rate could not be used, but the following sailing was acceptable so that's the one we booked.

  16. We first received our offer of casino discounted cruises in 2012, then again in 2014.  Ours came in an email from Jan Swartz.  The offer does not expire and we have used it on every cruise since.  I always ask my cruise planner if my discount will apply to a certain cruise.  On one occasion, it did not but I found that it would apply if we traveled on the next cruise to the same destination, so that's what we did.  It is also can be combined with other discount offers.

I don't know why we got this deal.  My DW does very little slot play but I kind of make up for her with my casino time, but we both received the offer.

  17. I think our vacation planner is excellent.  We have been going to her for over 10 years and she always helps us a great deal.  She will call me if there is a sale that is a better deal than the one we currently have booked.  She keeps track of all our discount deals that might apply like veteran, shareholder, casino, etc.  Maybe we were just lucky that she was the one that picked up the line the first time we called Princess.

  18. Our first cruise was on the TSS Festivale which was a Carnival ship in the late 70's.  She was originally a mail ship ocean liner converted for cruising.  The ship was beautiful and seemed large at the time, especially since we had no previous exposure to ships.  I remember that she leaned quite a lot in the wind and that walking down the Promenade in a straight line was a challenge at times.
