  1. NCL Encore: Juneau, Skagway, Glacier Bay, Ketchikan, Victoria BC

RCL Ovation: Sitka, Skagway, Juneau, Victoria BC

I keep hearing great things about glacier bay, so I am trying to prioritize that. We've never been on an NCL cruise, which is why I've been trying to stick to RCL and unfortunately have not found that they have any itineraries to glacier bay.

Can others weigh in. If you only got to do one Alaskan cruise, is your number 1 priority glacier bay?

    Sitka vs Ketchikan?

Any experience of NCL vs RCL?

The NCL cruise is $1k more. The NCL ships look awesome. We have two young girls, and tend to do specialty dining each night over the MDR, we don't drink, I gamble...just providing some context about us if that helps with providing feedback relative to our cruising style.

  2. Hi everyone

Have a harmony cruise coming up next month and wanted to know if anyone has experience renting cars in these ports.

I found what looks to be legit options in each port.

    Jeep rental in St Thomas

    https://www.jeepsvi.com/index.php

And car rental in St. Kitts

    https://www.avis.com/en/locations/sk/basseterre

Are these walkable from the ship?

Are there other options I'm missing?

Any experience with these options I found? Obviously Avis is well known and I assume it's locally owned.

    Thanks for any help

I would ask in the forum section for ports but that tends to be not very active.

  3. Hi

We will be traveling with our toddler and trying to find out what the transportation to and from is for this excursion. Would it be the larger travel buses or the smaller 12 +\- passenger vans?
want to make sure we are equipped with the right travel equipment for toddler seat but not sure if there would be space in a passenger van or needed on the larger buses.

I have asked in the port forum as well

    thanks

  4. Hi

i would like to book this excursion for my family but wanted to confirm what the travel provided to the rail and from the rail back to the ship is?

I have a toddler and wanted to know if this was going to be small vans, that are often packed for excursions or a larger bus? Still trying to decide how we should travel (with or without car seat)

    thanks

  5. I had the key in 2019

mainly wanted priority boarding, then it didn’t include internet so it was more affordable.

I don’t remember it being designated seating for the key but I do think we either had priority booking for shows or were let in early to the shows (can’t fully remember how it was)

I do remember we didn’t have any perks for ifly and don’t think they provided special times for the wave rider either

our boarding time, I think we l

picked a time and we’re just able to show up at any time and didn’t wait for long at all

I’m sure this has been answered numerous times

    looking to confirm

it opens 30 days from sail date?

do I have to be proactive or will offers or the option to bid be sent to me?

can someone help confirm if I have to wait until the 30 day mark from sailing and if I’ll be notified of my options to bid?

  7. I did it once before covid. At that time, internet was not included in the package so the price was lower.

Right now, they key is more expensive than the unlimited dining package, which is backwards in my opinion. The dining package has more value to me than the key.

I mainly want the key to board early, it would be nice if the package had levels (w/out internet, w/out chops lunch etc).

It sounds like the Ultimate package has been converted to the Unlimited package, so I would expect that you will get the additions (if any) provided by the Unlimited.

Thanks. Just checked my cruise planner, it is showing my reservation as the Unlimited (not the ultimate).  It is also showing Izumi (Even without Hibachi on the Anthem) is a set price instead of a la carte.

So I am assuming, the only change is we can now use this at JRs and eat multiple times in 1 night?

  9. I am on the Anthem next month, I bought the UDP months ago and it showed that lunch was included and $35 to the a la carte restaurants, since hibachi is not on Anthem I did confirm Izumi was included with the $35.

This new version is showing the JR is included as well.  Am I grandfathered in, should I expect changes to my package? Anyone been able to confirm the differences and what I should expect next month having booked the older version.

  10. The supposedly T pool on the vista is tiny.  We have enjoyed doing spa cabins, for the location, T pool and heated loungers. The vista does have more heated loungers than the Breeze.

You can see the pool and loungers at the 25 second mark in my video from my signature.

We were in room 12212 on the vista, one thing I did not like was that the floors above us were staggered (like stair steps) and could see us on our balcony.

  11. Will the $35 for a la carte dining be $70 since both my wife and I have the package?

Is the $35 per visit to those a la carte restaurants or is it $35 to spend for then entire cruise? Meaning, can I dine a the a la carte restaurants more than once on the cruise and continue getting the $35 to spend?

For the lunches on sea days, I assume JR is open every day, can I dine there during lunch with the package on non sea days?

First time RC cruiser with a ton of questions.

  12. After already spending thousands of dollars for a cruise, why not simply just have soda delivered directly to your stateroom. No lugging. Will $2.33 to $2.50 per can make or break your cruise or wallet?

Coke delivered to your stateroom @:

Diet Coke delivered to your stateroom @:

I dont think this is offered on the Anthem
