  1. Someone wanted the ideal spot on the back of the Crown Princess since it has been great weather all week. It's not a good idea to leave your stuff outside in Alaska for hours without coming back to check on it once in a while or at least look outside occasionally. These pictures were taken after it had been raining for several hours. The deck attendants must not want to touch anyone's stuff.
  2. We are going on a cruise out of Tampa in February and have a similar issue with flights as the OP. The choices are YVR-YYZ-TPA (or MCO) with a 4 hour layover in Toronto (almost 13 hours total) or driving the extra couple of hours to SEA and getting a non-stop flight that is under six hours. We are leaning toward the SEA flight because there are two flights a day on Alaska, while the Westjet flight is only once a day. So if there are any issues, we at least have a backup flight since we are leaving a day early anyway.
  3. I believe that a lot of people use early disembarkation not to treat the cruise as a ferry but because a port stop is way more convenient to get home instead of the final port. For example, we are going to book a Bahamas cruise with MIL, DS and BIL. The one that seems promising is a seven day Serenade cruise from Tampa in February. The sister and her husband live in Nassau and the MIL will stay with them and visit for a few weeks after the cruise. It would be really nice if the three of them could just disembark on the second to last day in Nassau and go home rather than staying on for essentially one more day and then flying home from Tampa with the attendant costs that will bring. Obviously , they still have to get to Tampa at the start but It would save quite a bit of time and money at the end. It would be well worth it for them to pay a reasonable fee to Royal to be able to do this.
  4. We are part of the cancelled Diamond Princess sailings in October. We switched to a Discovery Princess sailing and Princess assigned us to an interior on Caribe right in the back. (C731) I am fine with the general location but I am not sure of what is below our cabin. The Royal class ships that I have looked at show the Vista Lounge on Deck 7, then white space on Emerald and Dolphin deck, then we are right above that. Anyone know what is in that white space? Or can anyone that has stayed in those back interior cabins on Caribe shed any light on any noise or other issues with them? I can't imagine that we would be able to hear the Vista Lounge from that far away but I never like to be above something that could be loud at night. Thanks in advance.
  5. We were booked on the Diamond October 16 cruise. Was really looking forward to the different ports. I had just begun to seriously look at booking pre-cruise items. Did parking at SeaTac but picked the pay later option, tried to book a SD hotel for 2 nights through Hotwire on Sunday night (non-refundable $470USD) but the website hung when I clicked the Book button. Flights were through EasyAir. So, amazingly, we are out zero dollars. Switching to the Discovery a day earlier and trying to be optimistic.
