We had a medivac on the Magic back in August. The Coast Guard helicopter hovered off of the ship's port side for half a hour while three passengers and their luggage were taken off the ship. We were 20 miles off of the Virginia Beach coast at 1:30 in the morning. I think that most of the port side balcony rooms were up watching the Coast Guard helicopter deal with the wind and the fog while hoisting the passengers up. They used the back of ship since the Magic didn't have a designated helipad. It was impressive watching them work.

We were on the Magic in August and the Vista last year. We liked the Vista better. The Magic was getting a bit worn. The service in the MDR was much better on the Vista than the Magic. We like the layout of the Vista better, felt there was more room in the public spaces than the Magic. The comedy club on the Magic was larger than the Vista. Can't comment on either port was we went out of Galveston for the Vista and Norfolk with the Magic.

The Dominican Vanilla is a bit thicker than what you would buy at your supermarket. It is much stronger and sweeter as well. When my mom uses it for baking, she doesn't use as much because it is much sweeter. Is the vanilla clear or brown?

My family and I are currently booked on the Magic 08/19 - 08/27. We've had several conflicts come up for this week. I was wondering if anyone has changed their booking after they put down their deposit. Looking to change to another cruise on the Magic earlier in August. Was Carnival able to accommodate your booking change? Thanks for your help!
