For the first time ever I find myself needing to write a letter to RCCL about my recent cruise. My problem is I have no idea who to send it to to make sure it gets seen. Any recommendations?

The November 1, 2015 12 day Liberty o/t Seas 12 day reposition cruise from Bayone, NJ to Galveston, Tx is $673.50 + 156.60 taxes for a solo inside guarantee. You also get a $150 shipboard credit if you book theu RCCL but if you go to the agency that is to go you'll get $225.

I just booked a B1 balcony on the 11/15 Oasis of the Seas solo for under $1100 including taxes and tips at the travel agency with the 90 day ticker. I had to call and speak to a human though. he got me the friends and family rate that is available for anyone.

It depends a lot on you. If you need/want a specific sailing or cabin book quickly. If you want a suite book quickly. If you are not picky on where you stay on the ship or what class of cabin you have then deals can be found after final payment. Cruises with more European stops and less Caribbean are going to generally be more expensive than ones with more stops in the Caribbean.

I just booked 2 cruises thru carnival's casino club deals. Free for insides and only $5 a day extra to upgrade to ocean view and $10 a day for a balcony on certain cruises. I did have to pay double plus port and taxes. So I paid $223 total for a 4 day cruise and get $100 OBC for a great ocean view. There were not any more balcony's or I would have gone foe one. Imagination July 13th out of LA.
The second cruise I picked is on the Pride August 17th 7 days. I only paid $360 for a balcony that I got to pick and I get $100 OBC with that one as well.
What is the casino club deal? I assume it's tied to a onshore casino?

Well TYVM. Shows what I know :) I am on a quest to get to 340 cruise credits before they raise that amount as I really, really want to pay 150% and not 200!

I just spent WAY too much time on hold with C&A to get what I think is possibly a wrong answer. According to the person I spoke with if you sail on ANY RCI cruise ship and pay for any cabin not identified as a solo cabin you get 2 credits a day no matter which ship you are on including the Quantum. My question is does that seem right to you? I thought Quantum (and possibly Oasis and Allure) were excluded. I should have come here to ask first.

Oh you mean trans atlantic ? I am not a flyer so would have to do a return
That would only work if you were willing to either spend a few months in the states or sail Cunard back.
-
I have ended up at solo dining tables on my last 2 transatlantics and they were great. Not sure if you have thought about doing a TA but there are always lots of solo cruisers on them and many leave from Southampton.

If you want to have fun after midnight there is plenty to do on RCI be it listening to a band or gong to the disco wherever it is but if you want to party which I kind of think of as a different thing then go on Carnival. Also remember, the nights can be what you make them. Sometimes all it takes is one person out of the dance floor to make everyone else get up and dance in the disco. The last cruise I did the DJ was terrible...we'd start dancing and he'd play something to get everyone off the floor so we all just started doing The Hustle to whatever he played. It was a blast!

I have mostly had no issue at all with my ankle/leg. The one time I did beep they just wanded me. No one ever asks for a note though I did have one lady at the airport say wow after looking at my x-ray :D

Kim,
Call C&A. You should have been credited 42 points for the Navigator. Any other cruise you've taken where you were not booked in a solo SI cabin should have been double as well.
I'm skeptical about some of the pricing on the SI cabins. I've booked two repos on the Serenade and in both cases the SI cabins are more than booking a regular interior and paying 200%! Hmmmmm. Pay less money, get a much bigger cabin, and double points - a no brainer for me.
Hi Barb!
I was on the Serenade last week in one of the solo cabins. I lucked out. It was $403 for the solo and if I paid the 200% it would have been over $1100. They are not bad cabins. I will have to call C&A as they got the points wrong on the TA. I ended up with a total of 28 points.

Can someone please tell me how the cruise points are done for solo travelers? It makes zero sense to me based on the last few cruises I have done. is it the same on all ships?

No single malt in the DL or CL. You will have to settle for Dewars or sometimes they have a different one even lower on the scale than Dewars. I am also a single malt person, that is why I drink Amstel Light in the DL or CL.
Duane
I usually drink water or Diet Coke. Thats why I had no idea how to answer

My friend who just became Diamond asked me if they have a single malt in the Diamond Lounge and was shocked when I told him I have no idea so I said I would ask the experts. His favorite is The Macallan ( mine too) but I have never asked for it in a lounge. is it or any other single malt available?

I have never had a problem setting soy link for my son on RCCL. Occasionally they have to search for it in the Windjammer if you get someone who does not know but they do have it. Call RCCL and let them know but also, if you eat in the dining room let your captain know and he/she will help you out with daily food selections. You'd pick today for tomorrow and so on...

I just got off the Serenade and was on deck 4. Noise was never a problem. The cabins seemed well insulated against noise.

I have never bought insurance in 90 or so cruises but I am seriously thinking about it for the one I have coming up. How do you fill the forms out when you use points/miles to travel to and from the cruise?

Brilliance of the Seas 4/30 14 day TA is on special today only $718 for a solo inside or outside + taxes.

I am taking my son who has never been to either Santa Barbara or Monterey and I am looking for suggestions for what to do and how to do it. I know about the aquarium but not sure how to get there from the ship. Renting a car would be fine if it's easy to do from the ship.

Kim from California here. I am doing the 11/3 Rome to Barcelona and then the 11/10 TA on RCCL Navigator solo. There are actually quite a few solos on this one and wonderful solo pricing as well. Not sure what I am going to do next but I think it will be one of the NCL ships with studio cabins.

I''m just about to do the reservations....:( I may just have missed my opportunity. Going now..................
You missed it.

They raised mine too and I had to call to get it fixed as well. if you are already booked make sure your information is right. If not call and talk till they fix it. I had to get a supervisor on the phone.

I think it was a pricing error they caught.
I think it was a pricing error as well. if you look now the same cabin on the same cruise is $2600.
