  1. We were in corner FV 8166 aboard Infinity on Dec 2016 - Jan 2017

That looks so inviting! I notice the table is smaller than what I’ve been seeing tho. I hope ours is the bigger one. Hoping to eat a few meals out there to escape the chaos.

  2. One of my favorite rooms! (although I think it will be a bit tight for five people - we always had 3 and it was just right) I agree with the above answers. As to whether you can get more loungers? Maybe, but don't count on it. Celebrity tends to be inconsistent with those things. The 'official' answer is no, but sometimes an industrious room steward might be able to sneak in another one or two but IMHO that is unlikely. An extra chair or two might be easier to obtain if you don't succeed with the lounger.

Being short, even a footstool would help. I’ll sit in the table chair if I can put my feet up.

5 is going to be tight. Our kids are 14, 11 & 9. Probably the last time we can do this room. My parents will be two cabins over, so we can ship a kid out of the going gets rough. Next time it will be side by side concierge aft cabins & the inside across the hall ;).

My oldest is seriously considering just camping out on the veranda. Another option is to split the big bed & put the two oldest there, DH & I on the pullout & 9 year old (who will end up in our bed anyway) in the single. Wish these cabins had a drop down bed. Would be so much easier!

  3. We are booked on the Summit in a corner FV for this July. I’m starting to think about how I’m going to keep all the stuff 5 people need organized.

I haven’t been able to find these answers yet.

    1. Are the walls all capable of holding magnets? And allowed? Wanting to hang a couple of shoe organizers in the kids “room”.

    2. Are over the door organizers allowed on the closet doors? I know Disney no longer allows them because they scratch the paint, but the closets on Summit are a wood or a laminate product.

    3. Loungers on the veranda? I see in most pictures there are two or three. Can we request them or ask for more? Realistically, how many would fit?

    4. I cannot for the life of me remember if there’s a clothesline in the shower?

I’m sure I’m going to have more questions!

  4. Will have a similar issue on our upcoming Summit cruise in July. DD2 will be 12 two weeks after we sail. She’ll want to go to the older club with her 14 year old sister. But also go to the younger club with her brother. Both have autism & she is so good about being their voices so they can participate in things like this. Hoping that with Celebrity’s autism program they will allow sibling flexibility in age groups.

  5. Does Celebrity do bridge tours anymore? We’re cruising Summit to Bermuda with our kids in July & have a very inquisitive 8 year old who wants to see “how the ship works”. He just loves all things engineering.

He’s autistic and prepping even this far in advance is crucial to successful trips. Not his first cruise but this time around he’s less interested in what will happen on board & more on how the ship runs. We’ve been watching all sorts of videos about how the ships move & stabilize. He’s already got a list of questions he wants to ask Captain Alex (assuming it’s still him for Captain Kate’s vacation).

  6. Traveling with our kids (14, 12, 9) NJ to Bermuda next July. The kids love to dance & we were hoping to find a venue that allows the under 18/21 crowd to dance. Just something we’d like to do after dinner for an hour or so before the older two disappear to the teen club. DH and I did this trip last year but never hit any of the bars or lounges after dinner (straight to the casino!).

  7. Saw a FB ad about a product called ReliefBand. It's a different take on the SeaBands, giving a pulse to the same acupressure spot instead of just the pressure. Has anyone used this? Reviews & thoughts?

I usually need to take Bonine starting 2 days before travel to 2 days after a cruise. I take it at night & sleep off most of the heaviest drowsiness.

This band has a pretty steep price point but I spend at least $100 motion sickness meds a year.

  8. Kinda glad we opted for Go Best with unlimited internet! That $15 pass was a lifesaver last year when we needed to facetime our kids. Just about everyone we would need to contact will be onboard with us, but DH will need to check in with work everyday.

  9. To me that doesn't look like something that would be appropriate for the surf at Horseshoe Bay, which can be quite rough. The picture is of someone floating in a swimming pool, not in the ocean.

I don't know any flotation mat, noodle or tube that is made for the ocean or the rough surf found at Horseshoe. However as a lifeguard with over 20 years experience, I find these safer & more appropriate than float mats. If a person were to be tossed, they would not be trapped under a solid heavy surface. They are mesh, light & easy to use. They are also quite buoyant. Can be used like a noodle (arms draped over) and if you sit upright, it's like sitting on a swing. I like that both I & my child can hang on to the same float (them in their life jacket).

I wouldn't expect a noodle or the float mats to be any more appropriate for Horseshoe. We tried inflatable noodles at our local ocean beach & they popped before a day was out. These do not. They should not be used to ride the waves, but rather past the breaks.

  10. This info made my day! Thank you so much!

    Mine too!

I was hoping my parents could make this trip with us but my mom has some walking difficulties. Was it soft sand? Or compacted a bit? And tell me about the bathrooms? I thought Warwick only had non flushing latrines & Horseshoe had full facilities. Nothing in between?

  11. What a great review! It sounds like you had an amazing trip! We loved our trip last August so much we booked another for next year (with our kids & my parents!)

I have some questions if you don't mind.

Warwick Long Bay : Bathroom or Port o Potty? Was it clean? We did Horseshoe last year, but wanted to try Warwick for a morning & do the walk back to Horseshoe. I can't not have a bathroom. [emoji15]

Beach Shuttle: did you pay for your daughter? Do you remember if under a certain age was free? With kids 14, 12 & 9, plus 4 adults a taxi is probably just as much!

Fun Factory: did you notice if the age groups are separated into different spaces? This is what I did not like about Disney! I feel the 9-11s needs to be separate from the 3-5s.

Harbor Nights: what was the cost for the activities in the kids area? Was it terribly loud during the Gombeys performance?

The private sail boat: do you have the contact information? About how much did it cost? My parents would LOVE this. We're planning on doing the snorkel trip with Restless Native, but a private boat sounds wonderful. And out of our price range.

    Thank again!

  12. RideSafer Vest for kids 3+ if you need to travel in cars. Won't be any use on the plane but it packs nice & flat and never expires.

  13. We purchased our just turning 13 daughter a bottle of Lili Perfume. It was about $60 for a big bottle. They had samples too. We bought it in a shop in the Clocktower because we never made it to shopping anywhere else. For our 10 year old, we found a Bermudian Girl (like American Girl) book. She loves the AG historical books & reading in general. It was $16. There's also pink sand or sea glass jewelry. Try the handmade market by the Frog & Onion in Dockyard.

  14. Yes. No problem if you have the means of getting them there, i.e. if you take them in a taxi.

All the shuttles allowed them last year, as well as the ferries. We were able to take a bus with ours, however, it was pouring & everyone was soaked & miserable & they were just trying to get everyone to Dockyard as quick as possible.

  15. We pack GoPicnic meals for convenience. They pretty much have what all previous posters listed, but packed up in a little box together. One has pepperoni & I appreciate the little bit of protein if it's a long day. Also, weird as it seems, in the snack aisle of our local grocer I found shelf stable "smoothies" by the apple sauce. They are actually quite good & filling.

  16. You can bring prepackaged snacks with you. I need a gluten free diet so packing my own snacks for our excursions was critical. I packed granola bars, nut mixes & some GoPicnic meals.

I'm going to have to research some more about starting at Gibbs Lighthouse & walking back to Horseshoe. I never considered that for our first trip as we wanted to just find some sand & sit all day. But next trip is with our kids & they'll want to explore.

We had nasty weather for our St. George's day & had to take the bus to Hamilton to escape dangerous lightning. It's wasn't all the bad considering but the walk to the ferry dock from from bus station in Hamilton might be too much for your mom if she's having a bad day.

  17. If you are concerned about them sitting in the taxis or mini buses, look into a solution like the RideSafer vest. Car seats might not be required, but you have to know if the child will sit properly in a regular seat. There are other similar solutions too. Just only familiar with the RideSafer & have used one successfully for 8 years.

  18. Cafe al Bacio is the way to go for the specialty coffee drinks, and yes they open at 6:30am on the Summit(was on this past May). The coffee in the Oceanview Cafe has vastly improved, Lavazza is very good and worth the trek upstairs. If Donovan is still upstairs in the Oceanview when you go on your cruise, please take him up on his offer to top off your cup, he was a welcome breath of fresh air every morning with his smile, personality and great conversation.

It's a bubbly bubbly morning! LOVED seeing Donovan on the Summit every morning in the buffet. Always made me smile.

We actually didn't care for any of the alcoholic drinks in Cafe al Bacio. But their regular lattes we the best we've had on land or at sea. I don't remember seeing an opening time for disembarkation day. We didn't think it was open. We hid in the solarium with cups from the buffet until our group was called at 9am.
