Who knows !!!
I can't find anything about it on the net

We recently did an independent small group tour of Gt Ocean Rd on our cruise visit to Melbourne. The only way it worked was that we overnighted in Melb, as we were 12 hours on that tour - it was fantastic!
The ONLY way to do anything close to justice is to take the coast rd down - going down & back via Colac will provide very little. The whole road from just south of Geelong is the attraction, not just the apostles. We went as far as London Bridge.
And on that, there were never 12, well not in recorded history. Info from our tour guide is that they were originally called the Sow & Piglets, but this was changed in the 1950's to a 'more marketable' name. There is 8 1/4 now, according to our travel mate that counted them :) in a few thousand years there will likely be somet new ones, but some existing ones may be gone by then.
OP, there is much more to see in Melb on a port stop than the gardens. I would do a half day tour &/or a cruise on the Yarra, to see a bit of what Melb has to offer.
There is 7
I was there last weekend
I go there twice a year
My fave place in Victoria

I'm going to search for the fling story
Imagine that !!
Poor partners

Oh well
Most people THINK there are 12 because it's called that
Still ripped off
-
God that would've been horrific

That's funny about the number. I was going to post that yesterday and googled to get the facts. A quick look and I did not find one reference other than the 12 apostles so I thought I was confused with London Bridge falling down. Clearly it is not publicised that there are no longer 12. And you are the first one to post that here.
Yeah there's nothing saying there's not 12
So bad when people are excited to see them
Then ripped off when there's only a few
I like honestly :)

There are not even 12 apostles
There is only 7 now
It's still a spectacular scenic tour
Especially if you go to the " Port Campbell national park to see "Loch Ard Gorge" Thunder Cave"
Mutton Bird Island Lookout
Living on the edge viewing is amazing
BUT you won't have time
It's a full day trip and more
Strongly advise you to not to do it and definitely not between dec & feb
I went for the weekend last Friday
Took me 6 hours to get there
Should have taken 2

Good Coz they won't be touching mine lol
I'm such a lover of a cold room :)
Hate the heat

I find that the A/C in the cabins needs to be checked every time you come back to it as the room stewards adjust them to a standard temp (around 20-25 degrees).
Better not turn my on to that
I will have it on the lowest and will leave a note so they don't touch it

Thanks guys
Much appreciated

Hi Fish66. We were on the Golden a few weeks ago. The air con / heater was very good. Sometimes we wanted it a bit warmer or cooler. Easy to adjust . Suexxx
Great to hear
Thanks sue x

I havent been on Golden just Diamond Princess.
On Diamond you could adjust the temp in the cabin. Day 1 when we arrived at our cabin (mini dk 9) it was stinking hot as the way the ship was facing meant the sun was beating into it and the air con was off or on low. But once we shut the block out curtains and turned the ac to the lowest setting it cooled down in not too long a time. And once the ship was underway the sun was off our cabin anyway.
Unlike most we actually found the ship interior public spaces quite warm - would have preferred it cooler but that said we did notice a lot of the older folk in cardigans LOL. So totally a case if indiv preference I guess.
Also to note it was pretty cool on deck as we did a NZ run dep Syd in Sept.
We had the air con in our cabin on that lowest setting the whole time and we certainly weren't breaking out the jumpers. We'd grab hoodies for deck time but didn't need them in the cabin. I would have liked to be able to make it cooler in the cabin but it wasnt at all uncomfortable.
Oh thanks for telling me that
Hope my cabin is cool

Most people complain that ships are too cold in general, so maybe that works for you. On the other hand, there is a frequent comment that cabins can be difficult to manage temps,
What ship are you on? I would be asking on the board for that cruise line about trends any given ship has.
I'm on the golden princess

I'm going to New Zealand on February 11th next year leaving from Melbourne
It will no doubt be hot in Melbourne ( and February is supposed to be hot in NZ also
Can anyone tell me if the air conditioner in the cabins are really good
Can I adjust my own cabin temp or is it set to the same thru out the ship?
I like it cold so I hope I can adjust it myself
Thanks in advance

Fingers crossed no one gets sick

You can get the flu anytime of year
Not just winter
-
Can't see that helping with the flu lol

Fish66 as you are only going to NZ you would not require any immunisations other than what you would have routinely in Australia. Information posted on this site, although helpful to other CCs who my be travelling to Central & South America and Africa, has slightly drifted away from you initial request. With all medical related questions, when in doubt, you should check with your GP.
Yeah I know
Thanks

I'd hate to get sick on the cruise
So I'm not taking chances
Just working out
How long before the cruise should I get the needle
-
Obviously no-one knows ahead of time if they will have an unpleasant side effect of the YF vaccination. I am sorry to hear that you did. :( You had to have the vaccination and I would have also if I was going where you were. Where we have gone (circumnavigate South America and land tour that did not include the Amazon or Orinoco rivers and various parts of Africa) we did not need it. Therefore I did not want to take the risk.
Everyone has to make their own decision. The reason I made the comment earlier about our reasons for not having it is to encourage people to investigate the matter and not just rush into having the shot.
I'm having the FLU needle
Hardly rushing into anything

I was one above, on Aloha deck on the Golden Princess and loved the location.
We loved being just a flight of stairs away from the open decks where we spent most of our time, and could pop up to Horizon Court for a cup of tea or a snack to bring back to the cabin. It would have been less convenient if we were big users of the theatres and other grown up activities on the lower decks, because the lifts were a bit rubbish with a few out at any given time.
We did get some noise from people and chairs on the pool deck above so I think by going 1 below to Baja you're going to get the best of both worlds - convenience with some peace and quiet :)
Sounds like you were on a great deck
Hoping mine is as good 😀😀
-
But I got it off this site
Oh well no big deal
Just read deck 11 is pretty good
