  1. You certainly don't need a Yellow Fever shot.;)

I would only have a YF shot if I was going up the Amazon. Just for a cruise around South America or through the Panama Canal, it is not needed.

I feel that sometimes the Travel doctors will recommend every shot available. After all, that is their business. I have found that often they do not allow for the fact that we are visiting for the day only. We are not living in local villages, eating local food and drinking local water. My opinion for what it is worth. :)

Yep no Yellow Fever shot for me

  2. I'm travelling on the Golden Princess to New Zealand on February 11th 2016

From Melbourne, and was wondering do I need to get any immunisations like the Flu injection or Tetanus, in case I cut myself.

Some might think it sounds extreme but I have seen others say they are getting those needles

Just curious on what people say about it

    Thanks in advance

  3. Hi Tricia.

My name is Maureen. I have seen that many pucs of the Golden and her food and utubes so its ok about the photos. The international cafe and the Piazza look amazing. I am sure I will be spending lots of time there. I love the look of Vines to. I think I will park myself there for happy hour before dinner. Lol

The pool way out the back of the ship looks like a fav. Spit for outside. I am going to book both specilty Restaurants also.

We have booked anytime dinning. What have u booked? I love to people watch so should be in heaven

I have booked anytime dining as well

I'm single and I didn't want to be on a table of 6 or 10 married couples

I could handle 2 couples lol

    People watching is fun

I went to Brunswick with my daughter yesterday and we sat in a cafe and watched people's as we are brunch

It was an eye opener there

I'm so excited for this cruise

I am doing this for myself instead of a 50th birthday party

I've booked all my offshore activities and tomorrow we get to print our tags for suitcases woo hoo

  4. We r in cabin B325. Not that far from yours. My hubby loves to have an afternoon sleep so while he is asleep I am going to explore the Golden. I am thinking of booking the Sanctuary for one afternoon. Just to check it out. I have studied the ships deck plan so much I think I can find my way around blind folded. 😜 u can tell I am excited cant u. 😁

    Lol me too

I'm booking a morning or afternoon one day there too

Spending ALOT of time in the international cafe

Omg I had someone post pics on Facebook some of the cakes on there, wish I could post the pics here for you to see but I can't

I might park my bed there lol

    Are you on Facebook

My name is Tricia by the way

  5. Going with hubby and we are on Baja deck 11

Done so much organizing for this cruise (our first) now all I have to do is sit back and count the days to go.

I'm on that deck too woo hoo

I've done everything and brought everything

    Just like u counting down

    My cabin is B216

  6. I am on the Golden Princess next February and I'm going on my own and I'm in a Interior Cabin on the Baja Deck (level 11) my room is B216

just wondering if anyone has info of the cabin

Looking forward to the dark nights, hate any type of light in my room

  7. For $39 you can board a ship while it is in port. For that $39 you get

    - Onboard first; before Suite/Elite

    - Guided tour of the ship (if you want)

    - Lunch in MDR with wine included

    - Boarding photo

    - Can roam the ship for 3 - 4 hours

Any booking you make up to 90 days after your BVE you get the $39 back as a credit.

It's a nice way to see a ship and have lunch. I've done it a few times while dropping family off and doing it again in 2 weeks.

    Sounds great

I'm going on my own so that might be something I'll do

    Where do you book that

  8. with upgrades anything is possible but remember if you leave yourself open for upgrades you can end up anywhere and you may not know until you check in....if you like your cabin location now you can ring your booking agent and say no upgrades but that is only a request because any one can be moved for operational reasons

if you booked with a TA they could email you about any upgrades but you would find out thru the personalizer

I did tell my TA I'm willing to upgrade

But it would be my luck u get downgraded lol

    Thanks for answering

    Ps

Where can I look for reviews of my room

Baja deck E216 wanna check it out for power points, etc

  9. The little passport style booklet which you collect the sticky labels as a reminder off each cruise. As far as I know no other cruise line does this. Makes it easy to look back over the years and check which cruise ...on which ship ...went to where.

Sorry if this is a repeat .. haven't caught up with all the thread yet.

I'm going on the Golden Princess and was wondering if I'll get the little book from them?? And do you get it on the ship

  10. My New Zealand cruise is booked for Feb 11th 2016' I paid for the trip in full 2 months ago, I'm in an interior room deck 11 Baja deck on the Golden Princess

Going on my own,but the cost was basically double

Wondering if I would have a good chance of an upgrade??

Wondering how they pick which people to upgrade etc..

And do you get an email saying they have upgraded you, or do you get told on the ship!?
