Thank you this is really great & helpful advice. I will put the feelers out on the Roll Call & see if anyone else is planning to do their own trip to the Skyrail & see if they would like to share some transportation. I would feel much happier knowing that if you miss your booked gondola for whatever reason, they will fit you into one of the next few rather than having to wait around for a train that could still be unreliable - I had no idea about the slippery tracks thing! I'm just looking at booking tickets for the scenic railway up, Skyrail back for our cruise in March/April. The departures in the morning say 8.49am or 9.49am - is that the train departure time or the bus from the Smithfield terminus to the train? We dock at 8am & it's a tender port so would it be cutting it too fine to do the 8.49am departure? Would this then get us up there for 10.30am? The last departure down on the Skyrail is showing as 1.14pm so if we ended up taking the 9.49am up, would this give us enough time up there before coming back? Really not sure what to do?!
