  1. Bingo,we are on the CB right now, start our 2nd 10 days tomorrow.

    Seminarstated CB and Regal are only 2 under works at present, future ships are being kept hush forsure.

    Weare under test mode now and probably same for our 2nd 10 days then system goesto a pay, unlimited, always on service for all including Platinum and Elite.Right now under test it is free to those 2 groups. Has worked flawless so far.

    Todaythey issued business cards to all of us going ashore in Nassau. It was forfree unlimited internet while in town??? Go figure???

    Itwas the 1st time they have tried this and made it available.

    Not sure how they are doing it but it was successful!

  2. Does that mean all of the features are working or just the basic stuff (unlock cabin door, make purchases, log you off of and on to the ship, etc.)?

     

    By all the features I mean such abilities as locate (with their permission) another passenger on the ship using a digital device and being able to order from you cabin a beverage and have it waiting for you when you reach the designated bar?

     

    Your correct, just the basics they consider the 80%. The last 20% they seem to believe are the rest of the features you mentioned which should just fall in place.

    Anboard you can feel the advavces happening, they are constantly testing but not sure how far they are. I feel the basics are down, example would be, door locks seemed to have to learn your aproach over several days. Talked to a lot of people that experienced that, then it works perfect.

     

    Its a big challenge I believe...

    Very satisfied so far but we are the testers on this (CP) and Regal...

    This may already be posted but MedallionNet is awsome.

    Always on, unlimited and way fast. At this point Platinium and Elite are N/C...

    Roll out is still the hush!

     

    CB is almost 90% complete with Ocean Medallion, probably done by end of our voyage on 9/28/18. Everything appears to be working. They had a seminar and said entire Princess fleet is on a 2 year build-out...

     

    Now we're spoiled, probably have to go back to old system for our next 3 voyages or more. Thats going to be hard to do...

  4. I am very grateful for the fish and the service it provided and miss the tool. But reality is when you buy credits, the credits should work. There is no reason for anyone to buy new credits with how that site works today, unless you are wanting to make a goodwill donation.

    CF has saved us thousands too, I was among one of Titus first and very loyal customers. I have defended him through thick and thin.

    But right and wrong are another thing, you look on his site blogs and other areas on the www and by far the cruise lines have won this battle...

     

    If your still getting discounts on your bookings then good for you but the vast, vast majority appear to be getting ripped off because he still sells credits on his site.

     

    He knows the very few cruise lines that are still working and he should let it be known so people are not buying credits for the ones that are not working.

    If he did that I am sorry to say he'd be closing his doors which are 3/4 closed anyway.

     

    I am sorry, and never thought I would bad mouth Titus but he can't/won't honestly communicate anymore. Read some of his blogs and see how long it's been since he has answered people's questions. It hasn't happened in a very long time.

    Try to email him or customer service him and it comes back as undeliverable. That tells me the business is closed down nobody's managing the program...

     

    Sad but true, we have lost a valuable tool because most the cruise lines have re-coded their price structure and Titus can't adjust his programs.

    Dont blame the cruise industry, it's a business and they have squashed an annoying bug in their way...

     

    You can still watch your pricing but you have to work at it. Some of the lines are starting to solve the whole pricing thing all together their testing the waters so to say.

    Princess for example just started a new "Sale/promotion" that if you read the small print, your deposit is non-refundable, WHOA NELLY!!!

    WEe have almost 50, 14 day cruises, rhat becomes the norm, we are done...

    The cruise line business has forever been a dirty business for its customers and employees, but thats a new topic.

    Read the book "Devils on the Deep Blue Sea", an older book but the practices have not changed much. Big reason out of all the cruise ships out there, only 1, an NCL ship is US registeted so it can run Hawaii exclusively without running a foreign port

    Again, another story..

    Yep, hit and miss, way mostly miss.

    Like I said, only a few cruise lines left that just kind of work SOMETIMES!!!

    Used to work always but the cruise lines figured it out and have almost shut it down.

    Try to get a reply from Titus dr oesnt happen he has closed down the email address...

  6. I just saved $100 for a cruise in 2020 thanks to the fish. I even shared it with my FB group so my PCC was making adjustments for a couple of days.

     

    Well your one of the lucky ones, a few cruise lines are still working. Just a matter of time, most are not...

  7. I had that problem last year for our June cruise but no issues this year with our May cruise or the one I have schedule for 2018. When it was happening, the emails generally came in very late at night or early morning. Basically times that most people on the east coast are sound asleep. When I'd get up in the morning, the price increase & price drop emails would be sitting in my mailbox.

     

    Even if the cruise line is playing around to confuse things, I'll continue to use the fish. It's saved me a few $$ on several cruises.

     

    In my humble opinion, the "fish" site is way dead.

    I have been a loyal member of the "fish" almost sense Titus started it many years ago.

    The Cruise Industry has out smarted him and the site is virtually dead, he will still take your money and it may occasionally work (but it is rare), but the cruise lines that haven't caught on soon will.

     

    We have 7 cruises booked and I used up all my left over credits on them (just to get rid of them) and not one or any previous cruises for the past year or so have produced anything but up and down confusion, nothing that was ever for real.

     

    The "fish" blogs on its own site are no longer responded to when someone has a complaint or question.

    I just posted last week on the "CxxxxxFish is dead" and although I had a good relationship with Titus (the owner) he pulled my postings. It said post had been suspended, please contact "contact at cxxxxxfish dot net", mail came back as "un-deliverable"...

    He really needs to close that site down and stop taking peoples money.

    the few of you that claim you have gotten recent "price drops", good for you, they are rare if exist at all...

     

    Buyer beware and like I told Titus, I cannot believe I am unsold on his site, sad but true!

  8. Ummm, recently I complained about them changing your dining time onboard, from 6 to 5:30. I felt it was a tad early, but several posters nearly took my head off, saying they liked eating early. To each his own, but I dont think they should do it without your permission. And, at great risk to my personal safety, I think 4:30 for dinner is nuts. Maybe they are hoping to get you to eat two meals a day instead of three.

    You sit when you want, the 4:30 time made the whole night flow better, No lines all night...

    Hopefully Princess doesn't make large price changes to the Crown Grill now that they are adding the steaks for a fee to the MDR.

    The Crown has raised prices past few years, quality is down heard nothing but complaints. I personally think a few years the Crown Grill will be history. We had a Captain a year or so back seem to believe it was waisted space...

    Last 2 times for us, meat was very tough. Did not see anyone order Crown Grill in dining room.

  10. That’s disappointing because the different nightly bread & butter was one of the things I looked forward to trying. I also like the different nightly preparations for the Princess Favorites...salmon, chicken & burger...did you try any?

    Yes, how I felt with the bread also, breadsticks are gone. You can try and ask for them but hit and miss, mostly miss...

    Salmon and chicken were exceptional, not dry as it's so often been

     

    I am hoping the breads and butter comes back as everyone complained. Again, we were told this was a trial thing but they are pretty heavily invested in it.

  11. Just got off the Ruby this morning, remembered someone asked for pic's of the new menu...

     

    Food was great, pastas were watered down first few times but still good, bread and butter/spreads SUCKED was the general vast response. They will still give you regular butter but very sparingly...

    Word on ship was this is a test run for the new menu, 4-5 corporate chefs on board to iron our issues, again, for the most-part food was great.

  13. THANK YOU for the great post. My sister & I board for a 10 Day Baja Peninsula & Sea of Cortez run on the Ruby on Saturday. Glad to have the menu changes planted in my head.

     

    We're with ya Saturday Mary.

    New menus sounds a bit rough but yet smooth on the edges. I'm excited to see some changes an most often the tally with notice will try and accommodate some past favorites

    Not big on the upsale items, tacky is the word that comes to mind. Head to the overpriced Speciality venues for a semi-crapy meal for that please.

     

    All and all, I'm ready for some changes...

  14. I use to use photobucket from my laptop to post pictures. I don't have an iPad anymore. How do you post from a Mac? If there is link that explains will be great.

    Junk your photobucket account, its useless anymore. They stopped allowing 3rd party hosting for moving your pic's to other sites, they charge for it now.

    Anyway this is easier. Open a shutterfly account and move your pic's from photobucket, have to download them 1 at a time unfortunately. If you want maybe try just a few pic's before you move everything to make sure it works for you.

     

    In shutterfly open your photo/image and "copy image", go to your CC posting, at cursor "paste" that image, its that simple... This is for a PC but cannot imagine its not close to the same for a Mac.

     

    Good luck, its a lot simpler that the old photobucket way...

    Just downloaded all my pic's from photobucket and am moving to shutterfly for that reason I guess...

    Shutterfly seems a bit more workable with just a drag and drop?

    2. I went to "MY Shutterfly" selected one of my albums.

    3. I then opened one of the pix, see below, moused over it, right clicked, selected copy, came here, replied to your post, and did a paste, and the picture posted.

  17. When we board our September '18 cruise we will be one day short of Elite (149 days). Will we be Elite on day two and the rest of our cruise? We did get recognized as Ruby in the middle of our 26 day Med cruise. DW looks forward to her "free" laundry which cost me 13 cruises to get her there!!! That a lot of laundry coins.

    We too reach Elite on our Sept 8th to 28th cruise, haven't checked exactly, don't really matter to me, nothings free, cost us a fortune to get to that level. All I know is they dont give it to ya until your following cruise, so I guess we will be there by our Christmas cruise 2018...

  18. Has anyone seen an actual explanation of the issue? "Technical Issue" and "Propulsion Problem" are very broad terms. Is there anyone who can say "The defimilarator in the ferbrance drive has become xradiated" or whatever.

    Would 99% of the world even understand such an explanation? - no. Is it a Princess secret? - I doubt it. Does Princess "owe" us such an explanation? - not in the least.

     

    Yeah, I kind of think they at the very least owe us honest answers to when they plan on resolving these so called issues that have been going on now for 6 +- years.

    After all they sold us all on something then took it away with minimal compensation...

    Not to mention them holding onto everyone's millions in deposits for up to 2 years.

    Yeah I think they owe us some answers for us sticking with them and us being loyal longtime customers, and building their brand for them, it's a two way street...

    I think most are not jumping ship, not yet anyway. We for one want to trust Princess, after all we have an investment in them.

  19. Doesn't happen, you can cancel and re-book hoping to get the same cabin by request. Any specialty cabins such as some suites or accessible cabins most often have a wait-list, so your cabin goes to wait-list the second you cancel if others are waiting for that cabin or category.

    If "that" cabin does not come up and you just want the same category then you can take the discounted price but will lose any perks or packages you had through Princess or possibly a TA if your using one. Its all a numbers game!

    As mentioned, after final payment all discounted pricing or "Specials" ALWAYS state "New Bookings Only"...

    Should have gotten it in writing from employee you spoke with, that would never happen either.

    Sorry, but as mentioned, this is an Urban Legend...

     

    PS: Non-USA (UK, Canada, etc.) bookings may have different rules but I doubt that., have never heard of that happening...
