We booked through RCI website and sail October 29 on Oasis. The shows started showing up in our cruise planner 180-190 days out. They were spread over several days before they were all there.

Not sure if this has been asked but with the suite perks do you get your luggage early? If so, by approximately what time? Also, I know typically standard cabins can have access to their room by 1 pm is it earlier for Sky guests?

Wonderful review so far. Looking forward to reading more.

I had a great time doing this but a live review and Periscope is exhausting. It's also a learning experience... I'll know when and what to scope on the next cruise :)
My thoughts and grades will probably be tomorrow so I can relax tonight

You need to take another cruise with no review or scoping so you can relax. [emoji4]

Thank you Chris for taking your time to share your trip with us.

Try saving it to your hard drive as a .pdf before you scroll to read it. Once you have saved it you can open it with Adobe and not Dropbox.

That's a new one on me too.
But I don't entirely understand how it's different to a pre-paid debit card.
If you can only spend what you've loaded, then I don't see how it can be classed as a "credit card".
Mebbe more a more-permanent track record, easier to load, etc, but spending your own money rather than money borrowed from the card supplier.
JB :)
What you secure the card with is your credit limit. So if your limit is $500 and you charge $200 you get a statement at the end of the billing period. You will have a minimum you have to pay or you can pay the entire balance of what you charge. You get a bill just like a regular card. Month to month charges must be paid, they are not paid from the amount you secured the card with. Here are some of the top companies offering secured credit cards.

The secured credit card is not a prepaid debit card or gift card purchased from a store. You secure a credit card by paying the cc company a set amount and that becomes your credit limit. It then functions like a regular credit card that you have to pay each month when you use it. They are designed to help people with no credit or bad credit establish good credit. Be sure to read the fine print and compare fees.

I am in the same boat (please pardon my pun!). :p We are cruising on the Oasis on Dec 23rd. I have been able to book some shore excursions, wine tasting, and cupcake decorating.
So far the dining & entertainment have not opened up for reservations yet.
Love the pun! Ours added the aqua show just under 190 days out then all other entertainment & activities showed up by 182 days out. I was so excited I could hardly contain myself. Dining still isn't showing but all entertainment is booked.

I am still a long ways out for my Oasis cruise but can someone tell me how far out they open up the show reservations for booking online? I would like to know so that when it is getting close I can look for it.
We sail in 181 days. Entertainment and activities started showing available to reserve in our cruise planner a week ago.

We are sailing the end of October and the entertainment and activities started showing available to book a week ago. The Oasis of Dreams was added then then the Prohibition Event and Wine Tasting. A few days ago they added the remaining shows. I have been checking my cruise planner every day. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Hi all if we set up a cash account to avoid debit card holds (no credit card) can we buy obc before boarding (enough to cover what we'll spend on board) and then not put any additional cash into the account?? Also to the last poster, we are unable to get a credit card due to a bad loan over five years ago. In our country it takes seven years for bad debt to clear so it's not always current bills that people have that prevents them getting a credit card. Thanks
Have you also looked into a secured (prepaid) credit card? That is what I will have to do because of bad debt.

I added the Royal insurance when I booked our cruise. I was thinking of switching because I want more than my cruise covered. We are driving to FLL and the room rate I'm looking at is non-refundable and if we book excursions with local tour companies I want them all to be covered in the event we had to cancel for some reason. Thoughts?

The Nationwide policy sounds better than the RCL policy option. Thanks for sharing!

While my husband and I are not the couple who wants to take vacations apart from one another. Vacations for us is a rare event and we want to spend the time together. That being said every marriage and couple is different and I can respect what works for each. Happy sailing!

5soonerfans I am of the mindset of Crusinthrough. We decided on the L2 so we would have more to watch and still be able to see the ocean. We love to people watch and felt this would be more suitable to our preference.

Has anyone taken a shore excursion in Costa Maya to see Mayan Ruins? If so, which did you see, Dzibanche, Kohunlich, or Chacchoben? Which was the best or did you feel it was worth the time and/or money? Were you able to climb to the top of any?

On the Oasis - Sky Level Any questions?

I contacted RCI today regarding a price adjustment. While I was talking to them I asked about the Internet package that comes with the Sky class. It does include streaming.
She also said the water is specialty water and said that should be Evian. Since it didn't show a limit to the number of bottles she said you should be able to get it anywhere on the ship.
