  1. @Reggietours Howdy! Thank you for starting a new thread on the Ask a Cruise Question forum for general questions regarding cruising. 👍 Since your inquiry concerns a world cruise, to help you out I have moved your new thread to the World Cruises forum where it will be on-topic. Please feel free to browse through the thread titles in the forum looking for threads of interest. You will find your fellow Cruise Critic members have already posted questions and received answers that will be of interest to you. It is our place for world and extended length cruisers to share advice and experiences. Cruise Critic is a great resource for new as well as experienced cruisers and we are so glad you found us! Please feel free to browse the Cruise Critic Community Categories list. Read a few threads in the various forums to get a feel for what each forum is about. Make sure you read any pinned threads on the top of the first page of threads in a forum. You will find very important instructions or information there about that forum. I sincerely hope this will be helpful and glad to have you aboard Cruise Critic! Happy sails, Host Kat
  2. @arby70 Welcome & glad to have you back aboard Cruise Critic!! Yes, the previous vBulletin software was switched over to Invision software back in October 2018. Also the servers were changed in May 2019. The Cruise Critic Countdown Clocks died on June 17, 2019. See the following thread: However, please note you can find other countdown clocks that are compatible with the new software & servers as mentioned in the above thread. Yes, there are things we can no longer do as before, but then there are lots of things we can now do that we could not do before. It took all of us a little time & practice to get used to the new environment but we made it! Just hang in there and it will get better for you too. Happy sails, Host Kat
  3. Yep, see the Celebrity page https://www.celebritycruises.com/captains-club/tiers-and-benefits#power-up-points where it says the following: And here is some of the fine print in Full Terms and Conditions on https://www.celebritycruises.com/captains-club/enroll: ... Power Up Points can be earned for various non-sailing activities such as taking surveys, participating in social media activities and making bookings. Opportunities to earn Power Up Points are emailed to eligible members by Celebrity Cruises from time to time. Power Up Points convert to Club points at a ratio of 10 Power Up Points to 1 Club Point. All Power Up Points earned in a calendar month are converted to Club Points and added to a participating member’s Club Point balance within 14 days of month’s end. Club Points converted from Power Up Points in a given month will be rounded up to the nearest whole Club Point. All terms and conditions of a Power Up Points activity must be met to be eligible to receive the associated Power Up Points. Eligible members may participate once per activity. The processing of personal information related to Power Up Points activities is subject to our Privacy Policy available here: https://www.celebritycruises.com/privacy-policy and our Social Media Fan Page Notice available here: https://www.celebritycruises.com/company/social . Certain Power Up Points activities may be construed as financial incentive(s) under the California Consumer Privacy Act. You may opt in/out by your participation in any Power Up Point activity. Club Points converted from Power Up Points are subject to all terms and conditions of the Captains Club program. Power Up Points and Captains Club program terms and conditions are subject to change at any point without prior notice... Hope this information will be satisfactory! Happy sails, Host Kat
  4. Yes, see the pinned thread at the top of this first page of threads in this forum:
  5. Click the Report post feature in the upper right corner on the post you want to report so the Report post screen will open. If it is a whole thread that needs to be reported, click the Report post feature on the first post in the thread. At first, you cannot see the feature. You need to roll your mouse over the upper right corner in the post # area and it will appear. Type your message reporting the problem of the off-topic post or thread or any Guideline violating posts or threads into the Report post text box where it says, "Optionally enter a message with your report." When done with your message, click Submit Report. Your part is done. Do not quote or reply to the reported post on the thread. Your reply post as well as any other posts or quotes concerning the reported off-topic post or thread will be moved to the correct forum or removed. Any Guideline violating posts and replies to or quotes of will be completely removed too. A Report post report will be generated for review to all volunteer Hosts/Moderators assigned to the forum, or all Staff/Administrators if there are no volunteer Hosts/Moderators assigned. The report will automatically show the important information they MUST have such as the forum name, thread title & link or post # and link in addition to your message. The volunteer Hosts/Moderators assigned to the forum, if any, or Staff/Administrators will review your Report post report when they can. I say "when they can" because all e-mails and Report post reports to Cruise Critic are answered in order of receipt. With over a million and a half members sending e-mails and reports 24/7 from all over the world, please be patient for any action. Please remember the Hosts/Moderators are non-paid volunteers and work the boards when their real life permits. Most Staff/Administrators work regular weekday business hours. Happy sails, Host Kat
  6. So sorry, but you can't. Just stop posting on the boards. Any emails, threads or fourms that you have subscribed or followed, just unsubscribe or unfollow. From the Removal of Posts section in the Guidelines you agreed to follow when registering for your free membership: ... Question: I no longer wish to be a member; why won't you remove all my posts!? Answer: When you became a member you granted Cruise Critic the right to use what you post. Your posts are not stand-alone; they are part of a conversation or discussion and removing them would not be fair to other members. By registering and posting on our site, you have made a conscious decision to participate. We do not offer removal of posts from our forums... Now if you just want to change your user name, send an e-mail from your Cruise Critic e-mail address of record to help@cruisecritic.com and mention your current user name. This helps with the verification of your Cruise Critic account in order to help you faster. Also, mention your reason for requesting a name change. You will need to include a list of at least five possible new user names. They will go down your list and change your user name to the first available. If all of the names on your list are already taken, they will send you an e-mail asking for another list of possible names. And so it goes until an available new user name is found for you. When it is changed, all your previous posts will have your new user name and you will not loose your post count. Happy sails, Host Kat
  7. Just trying to help, Post UNDER the quote box, not IN the quote box. Perhaps this thread will help: How to: Reply to a Topic / Quote / Multi-Quote Happy sails, Host Kat
  8. You are most welcome! Glad to be of service, Host Kat
  9. The OP originally posted on the Q&A: Cruise Insurance w/ Steve Dasseos of the TripInsuranceStore.com June 2020 forum. It was the Special Events forum I mention. That's why the thread was moved to a more correct forum as I mention in the first paragraph. Hope this information will be satisfactory!
  10. @VMax1700 Since the OP is new to posting on the boards, I felt it was best to welcome them to the boards and then move their first new thread to the forum where it would be on topic. Merging into an existing thread would be quite confusing to a new poster so I was trying to help them as best I could under the circumstances. Also, I explained how to browse this forum for other threads regarding refunds. Since this is someone new to the way things are done around here, I hope they will now feel a litle bit more comfortable on the boards. Remember back when YOU were a newbie learning the "dos" & "don'ts"?
  11. @johnengland Howdy and welcome to the Cruise Critic message boards!! Thank you for your first new thread on the Special Event forum for our guest Steve Dasseos with TripInsuranceStore.com. The forum is a Q&A for questions through June 2020 about U.S. based travel insurance plans. Your new thread is off-topic on this forum so to help out I have moved your new thread to the Holland America Line forum where it will be on topic. Please feel free to browse through the thread titles on this forum looking for threads of interest. You will probably find your fellow Cruise Critic members have already posted questions and received answers that will be of interest to you about refunds from HAL. The majority of your fellow Cruise Critic members that have sailed HAL frequent this forum and provide feedback here. Cruise Critic is a great resource for new as well as experienced cruisers and we are so glad you have found us! Please feel free to browse the Cruise Critic Community Categories list. Read a few threads in the different forums to get a feel for what each forum is about. Make sure you read any pinned threads on the top of the first page of threads in a forum. You will find very important instructions or information there. And since it appears you are from the UK, please be sure to check out the special forums we have just for you! UK Cruisers Learn more about cruising from the UK, or on UK-based ships, from cruisers just like you! The Pub Chit-Chatter about just about anything with other UK Cruisers! I sincerely hope all this will be helpful and glad to have you aboard Cruise Critic! Happy sails, Host Kat
  12. @out2sea Howdy & welcome back to posting on the Cruise Critic message boards! I see it has been quite a while since you have posted. Thank you for starting a new thread on the Ask a Cruise Question forum for general questions regarding cruising. 👍 However since your inquiry concerns a specific port of call, to help you out I have moved your thread to the Ports of Call - Caribbean - San Juan, PR forum where it will be on-topic. Please feel free to browse through the thread titles on the forum looking for threads of interest. You will probably find your fellow Cruise Critic members have already posted questions and received answers that will be of interest to you about the port. Cruise Critic is a great resource for new as well as experienced cruisers and we are so glad you are back aboard! Please feel free to browse the Cruise Critic Community Categories list. Read a few threads in the forums to get a feel for what each forum is about. Make sure you read any pinned threads on the top of the first page of threads in a forum. You will find very important instructions or information there. I sincerely hope this will be helpful! Happy sails, Host Kat
  13. @Britt1975 Howdy Britt & welcome to the Cruise Critic message boards! We have a Cruise Critic article Finding a Cruise Travel Agent that should be helpful. The article was last updated January 8, 2020. And since you are interested in short cruises, here's another Cruise Critic article for you: Compare: 11 Top-Rated Short Cruises It was last updated February 20, 2020. My suggestion is that you find a TA/Cruise Specialist that has actually taken a few cruises. There are lots of folks out there that want to sell you a cruise, but cannot help you with truthful & personal answers to any questions about cruising since they never cruised. Happy sails, Host Kat
  14. Then I suggest you repost your inquiry on the Princess Cruises forum and again on the Holland America Line forum. Be sure to mention the ship name in each thread. That way you will receive replies that will be about those specific ships. The majority of your fellow Cruise Critic members that have sailed those ships frequent each line's forum and provide feedback there. Browse through the thread titles on the forums looking for threads of interest. You will find your fellow Cruise Critic members have already posted questions and received answers that will be of interest to you. I sincerely hope this will be helpful and glad to have you back aboard the Cruise Critic message board! Happy sails, Host Kat
