  1. Five and a half hours isn't much time to be spending $110 or whatever it is especially like Mat said with the lines you will encounter. Would definitely do a land trip in the future, not worth it to me.

Depends on when you go. If you go at the right time of year, you can do all 4 Disney parks in 1 days. Well not every ride but all the good ones. So it's just a matter of perspective and what you are trying to accomplish. I've been to both probably 50-60 times.

  2. If you are thinking of doing several specialty dining venues, look at doing one of the packages. They can usually save you a little bit of money. On our liberty cruise last may we did the 5 night dining package for $100. We ate in chops twice, giovanni's twice and sabor once with the package. If we had bought it all a la carte it would have been $55 more per person:

    Chops $35 x2 = $70

    Giovanni's $30 x 2 = $60

    Sabor $25 x 1 = $25

    total = $155.

So overall a good deal if you are going to do mostly specialty restaurants.

  3. Hi all!

I booked an inside guarantee cabin on Anthem for next year. I am several months before final payment date. RC assigned me a room almost immediately after booking. It isn't a terrible room--I could certainly live with it, but there are better options within the room category assigned. In this case, it is a room on Deck 10, nearly all the way aft. There are rooms available on Deck 11 in the same room category (K) that are more mid-ship, which is what I would prefer.

If I understand correctly, I can call up RC and ask them to switch me to another available room in the same room category as they have assigned me without any penalty and without changing the price of my cruise. Is that correct?

While I am asking questions, I wanted to ask about possibly upgrading to a different room category as well. Is it correct that is prices drop on Oceanview or Balcony rooms, I can upgrade to one of those categories by paying the difference between my inside guarantee price and the current price on those room categories? Is this something that I can only do before final payment or can I do it after final payment as well?

    Thank you!

Yes you can call and change rooms in the same category as long as you booked it through the US website or agents. The U.K. Has different booking rules. If it's before final payment you can take any price adjustments as long as they are not for new bookings only. If it's after final payments you can do upgrades but not price reductions.

  4. Check your city, but my 13 yr old son and 17 yr. old daughter, my wife and I surf year round in between cruises here:

I buy the 25 - 1/2 hour sessions cheaper than their list price, usually around $200. That's 12 and 1/2 hours of flow rider time for $200, vs. $369/hour if you even try to buy it on the ship. That way when we actually get our turn on the ship, we are the obnoxious surfers that ride too long while there are 20 surfers in line waiting for their 15 second turn. (We do try to be courteous of others in line but it really gets us a lot of quality time on the flow rider.)

That's where I surf as well. Love Aqua Shop. I just wish Michael could figure out someway to turn it into a double.

  5. I am working on the show pony 360s too. Our home wave is rather steep and a single so I can almost get all of the way around. Going to try it on the Liberty in a couple of weeks :D I think trying it on a flatter wave with more room might help. We shall see :p

Same on the single. I wish we had a double somewhere in DFW.

  6. If I can master it, ANYONE can ;) Just have to give it a go. Here is my "signature move" and yes, I know the pros call this the "girl trick" and the "show pony" and none of them do it, but I think it's fun :D

Sweet. A guy on my last cruise did that. He had just retired and was in his mid 60's. So like you said anyone can learn to flow board. Personally, for me anyways, boding boarding has almost nothing in common with stand up, so for those looking to get started, if you think you want to try stand up, go for it.

  7. I have posted this same comment frequently on similar threads.

Did see a bunch of men, not young kids, playing a spirited game of basketball on the sports court. A little later they were seated close by in the MDR. Only one comment - the smelled! Sweat rings on T-shirts and very definitely athletic/gym shorts. In my opinion they should have been refused entry to MDR.

I have no problem with clean, dress-type, walking shorts, collared shirts, etc., unfortunately many people don't see the difference between gym/sports wear and dress casual. That's the problem!

    Definitely agree on that one.
